We're Going on a Barny Bear Hunt!

This week Maxwell and I went on a Barny Bear hunt. We had tons of fun exploring our local area and I had tons of fun getting creative with Maxwell whilst doing day to day activities.

First we went to search for Barny Bear at the post box but.... Barny was not there.

We then hopped over to the train station to see if Barny was there but... he was no where to be seen.

Where could Barny be?

We ran to our local forest area, we looked under the leafs and around the trees but... Barny was not there!

We skipped over to the car but... He was not there!

So where could Barney be? Could he be by the sea?

NO.... He was waiting on the stairs for Maxwell to arrive home!?!

Cold and hungry Maxwell was happy to see Barny greeting him at the door. As soon as Maxwell got inside Barny was carefully unwrapped and eaten by his tired owner. Barny's red strawberry filling filled Maxwell with love! Pleased to have found Barny Maxwell felt a sense of achievement and vowed he would never give up in the future.

This post is an entry for BritMums ‘Winter Little Adventures Challenge’ sponsored by Barny, individually wrapped bear-shaped sponges with a hidden filling. Find out more about Barny here.

Hotpoint TVYL655CP Review

After a cold and wet January I finally persuaded Ben that we needed a new tumble dryer. We had survived 2 years without one however after waiting up to 3 days for our clothes to dry we decided it was something which we needed and we decided it was something which we could no longer live without. When looking around for tumble dryers to buy I looked at what company's could offer me the best deal, what uses I needed the tumble dryer for, what features it came with and what brand had good reviews. After hunting around I finally choose the Hotpoint TVYL655CP Vented Tumble Dryer here from Argos.

When our new tumble dryer arrived I was thrilled. Everything was perfect including its size. We have a fairly large washing machine which I like to pack full of clothes so having a large tumble dryer made sense. The Hotpoint tumble dryer holds over 6.5kg so it is the perfect size for large families or smaller families who like to do a lot of washing in one go.

When I used the tumble dryer for first time I was excited to see the results of how well my washing came out of it. The results were better than expected. The Hotpoint TVYL655CP dried my clothes, towels and bedding very quickly and thoroughly. When the washing came out it was also ready to wear instead of being creased which meant I had either very little ironing to do or none at all.

A clever feature about this tumble dryer is that it has a dry sensor which has 5 different drying levels. When putting a load of washing in all I need to do is choose which programme I require according to the different drying options and the appliance will automatically stop when the desired moisture levels are reached. I think this is a brilliant feature as it saves me a lot of time. Instead of checking the washing to see if it is dry, I can sit back and relax and wait for it to tell me that it is dry.

There were a number of other things which I liked about the tumble dryer. I liked that it was easy to use. Normally I struggle to use appliances however from the word go I found that the tumble dryer was self explanatory after reading the manual. Another feature which I liked about the tumble dryer was the fact that it had a fairly large opening. Sometimes I struggle with getting the washing in and out of my washing machine as it can sometimes get caught in the smaller opening which means my clean washing can end up all over the floor so having a large opening on my tumble dryer makes it so much easier to get it in and out.

Overall  I was really happy with my new tumble dryer, not only happy with the Hotpoint product but also with Argos's attention to detail. Ordering the appliance was easy, I was given a time slot of when my tumble dryer would arrive and I was also sent text's to remind me when it would be arriving. Argos even followed up on how I was getting on with my new product and asked me if I had any feedback.

I Love My Round Up - Guest Host

Welcome to I Love My Round Up hosted by Futures and Life in a Break Down! I am the special guest host this week.

The idea of the linky is let us know some of your favourite things of the past two weeks, to hopefully make this easier we will pose to you five questions, of which two will be the same each fortnight and three will change.

This week's questions are:

1. What’s your favourite post you have posted this past fortnight?
2. Share with us a post you have loved reading from someone else this past fortnight.
3. What TV shows are you enjoying at the moment?
4. What are you most looking forward to about spring (or the next upcoming season)?
5. What is your favourite type of blog post to read?

To take part all you need to do is write a new post answering the above questions - if you do take part we would love it if you included our badge just to show people where you came across the linky.

Round Up

1. What’s your favourite post you have posted this past fortnight?
I had a lot of fun doing Top 5 Toddler Items. I loved searching around the house for things which I have found useful since having Maxwell.

2. Share with us a post you have loved reading from someone else this past fortnight.
I loved reading Rebecca from Mum Of A Premature Baby's post about her announcing 2nd her pregnancy. It was a cute way to do it and I have enjoyed reading her updates over the past few weeks.

3. What TV shows are you enjoying at the moment?
I adore watching the new series of Towie and I am enjoying Waterloo Road at the present moment. Always entertaining and this weeks Waterloo Road was very emotional.

4. What are you most looking forward to about spring (or the next upcoming season)?
Having BBQ's and watching Maxwell have fun in the sun.

5. What is your favourite type of blog post to read?
At the present moment I love reading post's about peoples wins. Seeing as I have stopped entering competitions for a while, it brings me happiness seeing others winning.

Thank you to Bex and Sarah for letting me guest post this week on their I Love My Round Up. I hope my readers have enjoyed reading. If you are a blogger, why not also join in?

Turn Back Thursday

This is  another new feature on my blog which will make a appearance once a month. Turn Back Thursday is about things which I remember from my childhood which is now part of Maxwell's life or things I used when I was Maxwell's age. This week my product for Turn Back Thursday is a Little Tikes mountain hill.

I find it amazing that Little Tikes still sell this mountain seeing as this was mine over 20 years ago. The only difference to the mountain I have is the characters which drive the car and ride the helicopter. The colours of the mountain are the same and even the track is the same.

I have fond memories of playing with this toy as a little girl and I love the fact Maxwell now plays with it, the original from 20 years ago. He loves rolling the cars down the mountain and also loves playing with the cars separately.

This mountain is suitable for children aged 18 months although Maxwell was given it a little earlier. All the bits are chunky and child friendly and also bright.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell has spent some time with Nanny and Grandad
  2. Maxwell is happy for A.Rachel
  3. Maxwell has been doing lots of puzzles
  4. Maxwell has continued to try new foods
On Wednesday Maxwell got to spend a whole day with Nanny and Grandad. He adores spending time with them so I knew as soon as I dropped him off on Wednesday he would have a lot of fun. Whilst I had commitments in London Maxwell enjoyed a fun day with Nanny and Grandad. It involved a lot of playing, a special walk and lots of running around. As soon as we picked Maxwell up we knew he had had a wonderful day and he did not want to leave.

Whilst in New York my Sister has got engaged to her partner. Maxwell is thrilled by this as he loves A.Rachel and U.Rob. It will be brilliant to welcome Rob into our family and we are all extremely excited for my sister. Maxwell has missed them since they have been away and he is looking forward to seeing them on their return.

Maxwell has enjoyed doing lots of puzzles this week. He seems to have mastered how to do them well and mostly enjoys doing Peppa Pig ones. He works his way round the sides when doing them and then fills the middle in of them. I am surprised how quickly he has picked up his puzzle skills.

Maxwell has continued to try new food this week which has made me extremely happy. He has eaten tomato pasta, cheese on toast and melon. He would normally not try any of these foods, especially the pasta so it is great to see him try new things.

At the present moment I love relaxing. Relaxing is something which I do not often get to do due to always being busy all the time. If I am not being a mum to Maxwell I am either being a housewife and writing 2 blogs. This week saw me go out for a meal with Ben on Valentines day and also has seen me not working late nights on my blog, Instead of late nights I have been having some "me" time, which means I have been watching TV shows, having hot bubble baths, eating chocolate and entering competitions.

Love

Today I was inspired by a lovely courageous little boy who is fighting cancer but has accepted that one day he may give up his fight sooner than expected. Reece, who is 11 years old has fought cancer for many years but had recently found out that he had terminal cancer. Instead of letting his body be pumped with drugs, he has decided that he will let nature take its cause. Reece has written a bucket list of things he would like to see/do before his time is up. His bucket list is great and is something which I am hoping that many people see and hopefully Reece can then get that little bit of happiness that he really deserves. To read Reece's journey and see his bucket list you can view it here.
The circumstances are sad however if you take the time to read Reece's journey, I am sure you will feel strong emotions. It seems to me this little boy never moans, but takes every day as they come. He is truly inspirational and a credit to his family.. His positivity shines through - something which I love.

Planning - Tomorrow will see me take a trip to London for a event. I am so happy to be attending the event however the planning that has gone into it has not been straightforward and has actually been a pain. From hiccups with travel times, transport methods and even thing's down to what I will be wearing, I can safely say the trip planning has been very stressful. 7 hours before setting off for the event, I am now ready to go. I have planned and packed Maxwell's food and bag for the day as he will be staying with my parents and I have packed my own bag ready for my long day ahead.

What Max Wore Monday

It is that time of the month where I share with our readers - What Max wore Monday. Today's outfit is not amazing however today we spent a lot of our time doing odd jobs, so I guess this is a "everyday" type of outfit Maxwell is wearing.

Maxwell's Coat is from Boots. It cost around £20 when we got it which was before Christmas however I think it is now in the sale at just £12. I love how smart the coat is, it also keeps Maxwell warm in this cold weather.

Maxwell's jeans are from Next. They have a cute elasticated bottom which is brilliant in this weather as Maxwell's trousers stay in place when he is walking. I love the colour of these jeans as they basically go with anything.

Maxwell's shoes are Vans. Maxwell has these in blue but I am looking to buy him some in a two tone blue. A lot of people comment on them and say how cute they are. I picked these up in the sale for him at just £12 and they have lasted him really well. They are a definite hit on my toddler buying list.

Underneath Maxwell's coat he has a cute plain blue long sleeved t shirt from Tesco. The t shirt is priced at just £3 which is a bargain. I love Tesco's clothes and always find them great value and long lasting.

Our Top 5 Toddler Items

As a parent I use many different products with Maxwell on a day to day basis. Some of the products I use with Max are brilliant and I thought they deserved a mention on my blog. I also thought it would give my readers a little insight into the type of products we use and why we love them so much.

Mega Bloks

Maxwell really enjoys building things out of his Mega Blok bricks. From towers to animals Maxwell always has a lot of fun. Maxwell has several different ranges of bricks however his favourite set is a set which comes with a building helmet and some Mega Blok tools. Maxwell's passion for Mega Bloks does not stop there as he also adores his Mega Blok ride on.

Beanbag chair

This is a new product for Maxwell to use and he honestly adores using it. On a wet Friday afternoon Maxwell often brings his beanbag chair into the lounge and sits and enjoys watching TV, building blocks or playing games on it. Not only is it Maxwell's special chair which he knows and can identify but it is something which provides him with a lot of comfort when using it which means he is not sat on a cold hard floor. We have also recently purchased the mini table bean bag so Maxwell can use it as a footstool or rest his toys or games on it when he is not playing with them.

Books

Maxwell adores looking/read books and even has his own book corner in his room. Every day we will sit down and read a book together. Maxwell's favourite book at the present moment is his "special" pirate book his A.Rachel bought him for Christmas. He enjoys it so much he takes it to bed at night with him.

Children's Apps

Maxwell adores playing educational apps on my phone or on his Innotab. I honestly believe these games have helped Maxwell develop and have also helped him learn new things. Maxwell can spend around 30 mins a day playing apps. He enjoys doing puzzles, number counting and shape games. I tend to buy Maxwell the apps for his Innotab which range from £1 - £3 however most of the games on my phone I download free for him.

Booster seat

I recently won Maxwell a booster seat and it is honestly one of the best products I feel we use at the present moment. Maxwell loves sitting at our table instead of sitting in his highchair for a number of reasons. the booster seat has helped Maxwell do activities he would not be able to normally do whilst sat in his highchair. It has given him a little more independence and has enabled him to try new fun activities. It has also helped Maxwell eat a little better at meal times as he can see what we are eating when we are sat down with him.

I love how innocent Maxwell is, he is growing up so fast but I love the memories we are managing to create together. He really has become cheeky over the last few weeks and loves to copy things which he sees me and Ben get up to. Maxwell has done a spot of sweeping this week and has enjoyed putting his clothes and toy away in his room.

Loathe

At the present moment I loathe Katie Hopkins. I am sure everyone has very strong opinions about her but my opinions are any thing but positive. She is constantly in the press for stupid attention seeking things, nothing which is relevant to local communities or this country. She spits vile untruths about people and criticises people, acting like she is little miss perfect. She contradicts herself all the time and gets on her high horse about things which she has never experienced. She is someone who really gets my back up... I have to wonder, why is she even famous!?

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell decorated the house
  2. Maxwell has learnt to do forward rolls
  3. Maxwell enjoys playing games
  4. Maxwell has been trying new foods
  5. Maxwell has been very spoilt
This week Maxwell had a accident, the accident being he decided to draw on my walls with crayons. I would say I am surprised, but unfortunately I am not. Maxwell loves drawing and whilst sat in his new booster seat he happened to get crayon scribble over my wall. Luckily it came off after I tried to remove it with, fairy liquid, hairspray and toothpaste. Maxwell now knows it is unacceptable to draw on the walls.

Maxwell has recently been very active and enjoys jumping around, this week Maxwell has discovered how to forward roll. I have to be honest at first it got my heart racing as I was unsure weather he may hurt himself however Maxwell has got confident doing it and likes to do it on soft areas. I am sure he would forward roll everywhere if he could.

This week saw me download a few new games for Maxwell on my phone to keep him entertained through the bad weather. The games consisted largely of Peppa Pig games and I have to say Maxwell adores them. He has really got into playing them and Ben and I are surprised at how quickly he picked up the games.

Maxwell has been fussy with foods for a while now however this week Maxwell has tried melon, chicken wraps, rice and crepes. Maxwell has tried and eaten all these foods which is brilliant for him and I am looking forward to introducing more foods.

Maxwell has been extremely spoilt this week. We seem to have had delivery after delivery. From new toys to clothes, to designer clothes to craft materials Maxwell has been extremely spoilt however I have decided to introduce all his new stuff to him slowly so he does not expect it all the time and gets wear out of toys.

The Mum Tag

Over the last Bex From Futures have both tagged me in 'The Mummy Tag'. I figured it would be a good idea to join in and give my readers a little insight into my life as well as Max's.

1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum, or a Working Mum?
I am a stay at home Mum however I spend most of my life working on my two blogs.

2. Would you have it any other way?
I love staying at home and raising Maxwell however I would love to return to work in the future, the future being when Max is possibly at school. I miss the working environment and I miss socialising however I feel incredibly blessed at the present moment to be able to spend time at home with Maxwell and watch him grow whilst being able to continue with Mummy To The Max.

3. Do you co-sleep?
No, Maxwell has always been a really good sleeper and has stayed in his cot however sometimes when the weather is bad or he is feeling poorly he has joined me in bed.

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
When Maxwell was born we found that his baby bouncer was a life saver. He spent a lot of time in there bouncing away and I loved the fact that he could join us elsewhere in the house as we were able to move his bouncer around. As he grew he enjoyed sitting in there with a book or a toy. It was a sad day when he eventually grew out of it.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?
I would maybe like 1 more however I am happy with just having Max. What will be, will be.

6. Date night? How many nights per month?
It is rare me and Ben get a date night. Ben works nights and rarely gets a day off, when he does have a night off we can sometimes find it hard to get someone to look after Maxwell as my sister is a busy school teacher and my parents have moved away.

7. Your childs favourite show?
Supermarket Sweep, Fort Boyard or Swashbuckle. Maxwell is a huge fan of game shows and could sit and watch Challenge TV all day.

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?
The worst thing we bought was a nappy bin. It was expensive, pointless and we never used it. I was far happier popping to the local supermarket to buy a bag of nappy bags which cost 33p a packet instead of a £5 nappy bag roll.

9. Your child’s favourite food?
Maxwell adores grapes and apples. He also loves biscuits, he always enjoys getting his hands into the biscuit barrel.

10. How many cars does your family have?
One, Ben drives and I don't at the present moment.

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after and now?
I have put a hell of a lot of weight on since having Max however I am hoping to loose this in the next year or 2. I need determination and time to do it.

12. Dream holiday with your kids?
I would adore to go on a Disney Land Holiday however I would also love to go on a UK holiday to the Isle Of Wight holiday!

13. Dream holiday without your kids?
Me and Ben would love to go to New York. We would also love to go on a holiday to Australia!

14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born?
My life has changed for the better. I had to grow up fast. If I had not had Max I would have never started my blog, nor started entering competitions which means I would have never made friends with the people I have. When I had Max many of my "friends" got bored and left me. Max has made me nothing but proud since the time he entered this earth until now and until the day I die.  He is the most precious thing in my life and the biggest love in my life.

15. Finish the sentence: 'It makes my heart melt to see …
Happiness throughout my day and my beautiful boy laid in bed at night snuggled up, sleeping peacefully.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?
I mostly buy Max clothes from Next, Boots, Gap, French Connection and occasionally Zara.

17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
Rimmel London Mascara and Collection 2000 foundation.

18. Huggies or Pampers?
Pampers are the main love in my life however when Max was smaller we did use Huggies a lot. I also love Boots nappies at the present moment.

19. Have you always wanted kids?
No, before I had Max I was your normal 19 year old who enjoyed spending time with her friends, going to party's and having a big social life however when I had Max my life changed and now I love playing with Cars, Painting and cleaning my house.

20. Best part about being a mum?
Everything? The unconditional love, the smiles, the laughter, the tears, happiness, joyfulness,  the first's, the learning.. Everything!!

Max Rates..... Febuary 2014

Pipsy Koala On the Go Booster Seat
2 weeks ago I won Maxwell this booster seat and since we have had it, it has made a big impact. Maxwell adores sitting in it at the table.

Disney Cars Go Glow Clock Bedtime Trainer
I picked this up a few weeks ago. It was a bargain and cost me just £7.50. This is more of a product for Maxwell to grow into however he loves the design of it and likes pointing at it.

Crayola - 24 Crayons Assorted Colours
Maxwell adores colouring and the best crayons that I have found so far are Crayola. They last longer than cheap crayons do and I love the mix of colours which come in a box. They are perfect for Maxwell's little hands.

OXO Tot Twist Top Water Bottle (Aqua)
We were sent this bottle to review and since we have had it Maxwell has been drinking a lot more which is great. I truly believe the cup is easy for him to drink out of and I love the design of it.

Red Dog, Blue Dog
Maxwell got this game for Christmas and this week he has really got into playing it. Maxwell enjoys matching all the cards up with the picture boards.  This game is going to help him learn objects as well as pictures.

Mighty B Box
The mighty B Box is brilliant. It matches Maxwell's beanbag he was sent to review a few weeks ago. The beanbag is the perfect size for Maxwell to leave a few toys on whilst he relaxes on his beanbag. The beanbags are really well made and survive toddlers jumping over them.

Maxwell really enjoys playing with cars and other vehicles so this is the perfect little toy for him. I picked this up in the sale for him and he has really enjoyed playing with it.

This is another review item however Maxwell never puts it down. We got it in the hope it may help with Maxwell's speech and to settle him down at night however at the moment all Maxwell seems to do is play with it day and night.

Please note if you buy through these links I may be rewarded as these are affiliate links.
