Diono Solar Eclipse Window Shade

Are you looking for a good quality sun shade for the car this summer?
Protects your children from the sun and its harmful rays?

Diono have children's safety as their number one concern and offer a number of safety products for your children to keep them safe throughout the summer. We have been travelling with Maxwell in the car and the sun has been a issue. I was excited when I learnt Diono offer a Solar Eclipe Sunshade. We were recently sent one to see what our thoughts were on it.

The sunshade was extremely easy to fit in the car and took a matter of minutes to fit to Maxwell's window. The sunshade was held by 3 suction cup. At first I was a little scared that the shade may fall as the shade is quite heavy however after a few journeys I was proven wrong and I found the shade did not move from the place I had fitted it from.

The Solar Eclipe Sunshade has been well made and has a clever design which helps protect children when travelling in the car. The sunshade has 2 layers which are both held down by suction cups. The first layer is a blackout layer which is UPF 50+. I found the shade let some light in however it did protect Maxwell from a lot of the sun. The second layer is a mesh style screen which does not provide UPF protection but takes the horrid glare of the sun away from Maxwell's eyes.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

The shades are a ideal size to travel with and to keep in the back of the car if they are not in use. They easily wind back up into the main unit and so far they have not managed to get stuck. They are child friendly and are good quality. The design of the shades makes it easier for children to travel with ease in the car and make their journeys a lot more comfortable.

You are able to purchase your own Diono Solar Eclipse Window Shade from many retailers including Halfords and JoJo  Mamam Bebe.
Head over to Diono's Facebook for more info on products they have to offer as well as the latest news.

Sammy's Great Escape DVD Review

Brace yourself for a splashing adventure!
Something fun for all the family over the holidays.

Sammy's Great Escape is the sequel to A Turtle's Tale - Sammy's Adventure, however you do not have to watch A Turtles Tale to enjoy this film
Sammy and Ray are leatherback turtles and have been friends forever. They are both grandparents to new hatchlings Ricky and Ella and our taking them out to sea when suddenly a poacher swoops in and ships them off to be part of a spectacular aquarium show for tourists in Dubai. The kingpin of the place, Big D the seahorse, enlists them in his plans for a great escape. But with their new friends Jimbo the bug-eyed blob fish, Lulu the snippy lobster and a whole family of penguins, Sammy and Ray hatch breakout plans of their own. That is when little Ricky and Ella arrive, determined to break in to rescue them. This film is a series of thrilling adventures and narrow escapes.

Mummy Blogger, Parenting Blog, Mummy To The Max

This film is fantastic!  I found it to be fun for all the family and it would be the perfect film to sit down and enjoy whilst the children are home from school in the holidays. The story line is simple but teaches children real values in life such as friendship, never giving up and happiness. The plot is not too complicated so children are able to follow it easily. The film is entertaining and there are parts which manage to keep you on the edge of your seat  however there are also some moments which will keep you laughing. Overall there is a heartfelt joyful happy ending.
As a adult I enjoyed watching this film and I know Maxwell liked watching it too. He was mesmerized by watching the fish on his TV screen and he kept pointing at Sammy who was clearly his favourite. I was impressed with the amazing graphics and scenes. Everything was thought out clearly.
Maxwell and I enjoyed the soundtrack in the film which got our feet tapping. Featuring The Clash, Bob Dylan and the B52's, we believe it should be a hit.

This film includes a Ultraviolet code which is a redemption code which you get when you purchase the DVD which allows you to download the film on up to 5 different devices so you can share it with friends or family by using a Flixter account. I love this idea and will be sharing the code with my friends and family so they are also able to enjoy the film.

Winnie The Pooh By TOMY

Are you looking for fun learning toys to keep your little ones busy?
Entertaining, good quality and unique?

Maxwell loves reading and is into lots of children's stories, one book he loves is Winnie The Pooh. Winnie the Pooh is a well known family friend who has been around for years so when TOMY sent us 3 brand new toys for Maxwell to play with, we were both very excited.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

Cuddle And Glow Pooh:
Cuddle and Glow Pooh is a soft cuddly toy designed for children to take to bed. He is suitable for children from birth. When Pooh is cuddled his cheeks glow red and if you press his nose he plays 5 different lullabies. You are able to listen to Pooh snore and yawn or use the soft glow night light with or without the lullabies to help you child sleep.
The Cuddle and Glow Pooh is very clever and has a automatic timer. You are able to set the toy to run for 10 or 20 mins and the toy will then turn itself off for the rest of the night. I like this design as it means I do not have to go and disturb Maxwell to turn it off once he is asleep.
Batteries are included in the Cuddle and Glow Pooh so he is ready to go as soon as you get him. The battery compartment is easy to find so changing the batteries is not a problem. Being able to change the batteries means that Cuddle and Glow Pooh will last for years to come.
Cuddle and Glow Pooh is the perfect size for Maxwell to cuddle and he is soft. Maxwell likes the night light that is in it and I found that the light that pooh gives off in his hat and cheeks is soothing and the light is not too bright and not too dim.

Spin N Play Acon Train:
The Winnie The Pooh Spin N Play Acon Train is a fun, simple toy which any child would enjoy. The train is brightly coloured and features 3 character characters - Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore. The train is designed so that the child who is playing with it call pull it along and when they pull it along the characters spin around on their carriages. The characters can also be removed which is fun as you can make them sit in different carriages or use them for other play. They are great quality and have survived Maxwell having a chew on them as well as being thrown around. They are a large enough size not to get lost.
This toy is not a toy which needs batteries and can be used inside and outside. I think it is the perfect toy to help children to walk. This toy is suitable for children aged 12 months +.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

Twist and Turn Activity Toy:
The Twist and Turn Activity Toy is a fun, simple toy that Maxwell enjoys playing with. The toy has 9 plaques which have Winnie The Pooh Characters on and when you turn them, a new picture is shown. On each plaque there are 3 different pictures. The plaques are a triangle shape and are perfect for tiny little fingers. The toy has handles which make it easy for Maxwell to carry around and is a great size to take out in the car or on holidays. Maxwell enjoys spinning the plaques and since we have had the toy I have tried to teach Maxwell to match the characters up.
This toy is a fun learning toy as well as a activity toy which is fun for children of a younger age. Is is suitable for children aged 6 months +.

The Winnie the Pooh range is designed for children of the younger age. All toys in the range are brightly coloured and are very appealing. They are fun and all have a unique design which helps children to learn. Maxwell is 19 months and we found that he enjoyed all the toys we were sent. Our thoughts were very positive towards this range.

All TOMY toys are available online or in stores. You can follow TOMY on Twitter and Facebook to find further information.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1.  Maxwell has been enjoying more foods
  2. Maxwell has a new friend
  3. Maxwell has become mischievous
  4. Maxwell is showing a interest in TV programmes
  5. Maxwell has started to make collections
As many of our readers know, Maxwell has been off his food a little. Maxwell only enjoys eating his food if he is able to feed himself, however this week he has shown a little interest in eating other food such as pasta, sausages and chicken pieces. Maxwell wants to eat with a spoon but finds it hard so I am hoping he will learn soon so he can be more adventurous with his food whilst feeding himself. He eats a lot of salad and his favourite salad to eat is cucumber and pepper which he eats every day.

Maxwell went to A. Rachels BBQ this weekend and he met a little friend called Zoe. Maxwell liked Zoe and they spent all day running around with each other and played with each other. It was lovely to see! Maxwell was well behaved and shared his toys well throughout the day.

Maxwell has become very mischievous! Yesterday he managed to break my curtain track as he decided he wanted to wrap himself up in the curtain after I told him NO and today he decided he would try and throw his belongings out the window. Although he can not reach the window, he managed to aim his cup and throw it. I caught him in this terrible act and managed to stop him, nothing was harmed!

Maxwell has started showing a interest in watching children's TV programmes. Normally he is full of energy and does not sit down and enjoys running around and playing, however he has shown a keen interest in Cbeebies and I get around 40 mins quiet time a day.

Maxwell has started to make "collections". He likes to put certain things in a place and leave them all there. He so far has a collection of Playmobil people, DVD cases and cars.  I am always interested to see what his next collection shall be.

Dobble Card Game Review

Are you looking for a fun game for all the family?
Suitable for children and adults?

This weekend we attended my sisters birthday BBQ. The weather was fantastic and we had a great day but come evening when the children were in bed we were all looking for some excitement. We turned to a brilliant card game which I was sent to review called Dobble.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

Dobble is a fun card game that comes in a tin. It is a game which requires concentration and speed. The tin consist of 55 cards and each card has 8 colourful cartoon pictures on. Each card has one picture the same as every other card in the deck. The aim of the game is to match the pictures, however they are hard to spot as the pictures are all different angles and sizes!

Dobble consists of 5 fun mini games

• Fill the Well
• The Towering Inferno
• Hot Potato
• Catch them all
• The Poisoned Gift

Our favourite mini game was the "Hot potato". The object of the game is to be faster than the other players at getting rid of the cards. The game lasted around 15 minutes and we all enjoyed ourselves. It is not a game I can see adults or children getting bored with.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

Dobble is suitable for aged 6+ and is recommended for 2-8 players. The game is compact and it is easy to take away with you on holidays or long car journeys. It would be the ideal game to prevent boredom and with a RRP at just £12.99 I think it is a bargain. The cards are good quality and are quite thick so they are not easy to bend and rip. The game would last many years. This game encourages families to spend quality time together whilst having fun.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

You are able to purchase Dobble via Amazon at the bargain price of £9.74. If you also love Dobble and would like to stay up to date with the latest information on the game, you can visit the recently launched Dobble UK Facebook page.

Nando's Restaurant Review

I am always excited to try new foods and when I went to London for Britmums Live 2013, I had something to look forward to. I was lucky enough to visit Nandos for dinner which was a real treat for me and I was accompanied by the lovely Jada from Unique Young Mum. I have tried many foods in the past but I was a Nandos virgin and after hearing lots of positive things, I could not wait to try there food which so many people talk about.

Mummy Blogger, Parenting Blog, Mummy To The Max

After a busy day, me and Jada headed back to our hotel to get ready for our exciting date night. We checked on the Nandos handy app on my iPhone for the nearest Nandos restaurant and found that we were closest to Nando's Spitalfields. We were pleased to see the restaurant closed at midnight so this gave us plenty of time to get ready and eat our food with plenty of time to spare.

When we arrived we were greeted by cheerful staff. I looked round and was surprised at how great the restaurant looked. It was smarter than I thought and I loved the red and black colour schemes it had which matched everything down to the staffs uniform. Me and Jada were shown our seats and were given our menus. The tables were clean as were the floors and we were placed in the middle of the restaurant around other people which made a change from being stuck in a corner which I have experienced at so many other restaurants.

After having a look at the menu I was drawn to having the double chicken breast fillet wrap with added cheese and two regular sides; a side salad and chips. I also ordered a drink of coke which was a unlimited refill and I was treated to a selection of sauces. My meal came to £13.25 and my drink was just £2.45 and I was excited to see what it tasted like.

Mummy Blogger, Parenting Blog, Mummy To The Max

Our meals came quickly and we waited around 15 minutes. Whilst my food was being cooked I was impressed to see that the kitchen was open planned. I was able to see how my food was being prepared and cooked. When our food arrived I noticed it was beautifully presented, hot, fresh and smelt wonderful. After taking my first bite I instantly fell in love and I will definitely be visiting again. The food was simply delicious.

The chicken tasted wonderful and melted in my mouth. I loved the taste that it gave off. I liked the fact I was able to choose sides and I found that my salad was a quite generous potion. The chips were also lovely and I was really impressed.

Mummy Blogger, Parenting Blog, Mummy To The Max

Whilst at the Spitalfields restaurant I was happy to see that it was clean and that all the visitors were made to feel welcome. Everything was perfect and even upon visiting the toilets I was happy to report they had enough toilet roll and soap. The restaurant also had disabled facilities and baby changing.

I was surprised to see that Nandos offer a takeaway option and one day I would love to go to my local store and pick up a takeaway for me and Ben to enjoy.

To find your nearest Nando's and find out information please visit their website, alternatively you can find them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However I did receive a free meal at the value of £15.70. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Ray Room & Bath Thermometer from Brother Max Review

Are you looking for a Room and Bath Thermometer?
A great design, a clever and unique idea that your child would benefit from?

Maxwell is a huge fan of bath time however before giving him a bath I often worry that the water may be too hot for him. I normally use a duck which tells me if the water is to hot but it gives me a inaccurate reading which is not clear. I was delighted when Brother Max recently sent me a Ray Bath and Room Thermometer to use with Maxwell.

Ray is a practical yet fun character who has been designed not only to use in the bath but also to use in your babies/children's bedroom. In the bath Ray floats around like a toy but also doubles up as a handy gadget to parents by telling them how hot the water is. If Ray reaches over 39 degrees the LCD will blink "HOT".This is when you know you need to add cold water.  In the bedroom Ray can be used as a room thermometer. Ray can help reduce cot death and Ray will advise parents not to let the bedroom get over 19 degrees.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting BlogMummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

Ray is quite large and features a clear LCD display screen which makes it easy to read. Ray is brightly coloured and is very appealing to children and parents. I found Ray was easy to grip when drenched in water as well as being the perfect size for Maxwell's little hands to play with. From a parents view Ray was reassuring, accurate, safe and reliable.

Brother Max have thought of many things when designing Ray. Ray is a simple product and has been made so he is easy to use. One of my favorite facts is that Ray is battery powered meaning Ray will last years as replacing the battery will be easy.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

The Brother Max Ray Room & Bath Thermometer is available in many retailers and at an RRP of £14.99 I think Ray is a bargain.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell is making a lot more sounds
  2. Maxwell enjoys going for walks
  3. Maxwell has started having tantrums
  4. Maxwell gets more helpful everyday
  5. Maxwell is coping well with the hot weather.
Maxwell has been making a lot more sounds this week. He still is not able say words however he does try. He can say Mumma and Dadda but he now tries to say car often as well as the word NO! He has also become more giggly and a little more screechy!

Maxwell has finally found his feet and is enjoying walking around outside. He has been going up and down the road and is very good at holding hands. He does not run off and gets excited about brushing past trees and plants. Its lovely to see him enjoying the sun.

Maxwell has been having tantrums over the last week which are not nice. They are not everyday but they are over silly things, only yesterday did he have a tantrum over a cake which ended up in the bin. He gets put in his cot and is told it is wrong so I am hoping it is something he will grow out of soon. Until then I will have to grin and bare his outbursts.

Although the tantrums have been a pain Maxwell is still very helpful around the house. He gets smarter each day and shows a interest in helping out around the house. This week he has learnt to help get his breakfast ready each morning and throws his rubbish in the bin, however I am a little scared he keeps putting other things in the bin as things keep going missing.

This hot weather is not fun for anyone but Maxwell has coped well.  He has been drinking a lot of juice and has been chomping on lots of cold fruit and salad items. His favorite thing to eat is juicy cucumber. Maxwell enjoys going out for walks in the sun however he hates wearing a hat. It is hot in the house so Maxwell enjoys sitting and playing with toys.

Aspire Calorie Burning Soft Drink Review

Are you looking to lose weight?
Looking for a drink which helps burn calories?

Since I gave birth to Maxwell, I have always struggled with not being able to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My problem is I enjoy snacking and also enjoy drinking fizzy drinks which is not great for my health. Recently Aspire got in touch with me to ask would I like to try their drink that promise to burn calories, I thought I would give it a whirl.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

Aspire is lightly carbonated and helps burn calories at any time of the day. Aspire contains justs 5 calories (Kcals) per 100ml and contains a combination of carefully selected beneficial ingredients such as Guarana Extract,Green Tea Extract and L - Carnitine. The drink also provides a good source of vitamins and minerals.

I have to be honest and say I did not really enjoy the drink. The problem is that it only comes in one flavour - cranberry flavour and didn't like the taste. I found the cranberry to be quite tangy and maybe a little bitter. On a positive note however the fizziness of the drink was perfect. It was not a drink that made my eyes run due to being too fizzy.

The drink is best served chilled and when served chilled I believe it gives it a more refreshing taste. After drinking a can, although I was not full I did not crave any snacks I normally do. The drink also made me have a little more energy and I did not feel tired after drinking it.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

The idea of the drink being in the can is a great idea. It means that you can transport the drink to work, on a picnic or to the park with the children. It is hassle free. The cans are a average size so you do not have to worry about drinking the drink fast and worrying if you don't drink it all it will be going to waste.

To improve the Aspire drink, I think Aspire should bring out a range of flavours as then the drink would be open to more people as I am sure I am not the only person to hate cranberry.

The drink retails at £1.79 a can and is available at a number of retailers like Tesco, Holland and Barrett and Waitrose.

You can follow Aspire Drinks on Facebook and on Twitter.

Katie Hopkins Vile Views….

Dear Katie,

Last week whilst sitting down enjoying my peaceful, happy, sunny, relaxful day I had to put up with you on my TV screen. I could have turned over and ignored your judgemental comments about childrens name's which shocked so many people, but I carried on watching you and now all I have to say is I pity you.

For anyone who did not see Katie's claim to fame once again after her apprentice debut and other this morning talks here she is again craving attention and wanting her to make her name sparkle in little flashy lights have a watch:

After watching your silly comments I find it hard to see why you have to be so judgemental about people.
Do you get a kick out of it? Do you enjoy making people upset? Do you do things just for a reaction?
Are you seriously so fame hungry you have to stir issues up? My answer to it all is, your just a bully.

When falling pregnant, I found it hard to pick a name for the little person who was growing inside me. I found it hard finding a name which would be unique that not every child would have. I found it hard to pick a name which would suit my childs personality. I found it hard to pick a name which would grow with this little person as they grew of age in life.

It was mine and my partners choice to call my son Maxwell, just like its another parents right and choice to call their child Tyler, Charmaine and Kye. Not for one second did I ever expect anyone not to like my child as they didn't like his name. I would never stop my son being friends with someone because I simply disapproved of their name. I believe in giving people chances in life and I believe later on in life my son will make his own decisions and I trust they will be right when it comes to picking his own set of friends. Our sons share the same name (nearly) but that is all I have in common with you!

What really shocked me this week was finding out your problem with ginger people.

Mummy Blog, Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog

You said on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 that the first question you asked when your child was born was ‘Is he ginger?’ rather than asking if he was OK or if you could see him? As a parent I think this is disgusting. If he was ginger what would you do? Not love him? Send him away? Dye his hair?

I grew up with negative comments as yes I am ginger - how incredibly awful. I was bullied in the playground, bullied out of school and called nasty names which made me feel bad about myself, but guess what I am ginger and proud and no one will ever take that away from me. I would never consider dying my hair to make someone like you happy! I would never consider the fact I would go unloved because of this.

I am pretty sure my Mum never found it hard to love me or my Dad, but why would they... its the colour of someone's hair. My son has fair hair, he could be ginger but does that mean I would not love him? I would never question my love for him over something so stupid. I would continue to love him as he has a beautiful sole, a beautiful exterior and he is my child and I am proud of him.

What makes me angry is people like you, you won't run your mouth about people's race or someone's disability which would make thousands angry however you are happy to sit down and say about someones hair and someones name and what really makes me laugh is its about children and babies. Innocent children and babies who have not done anything to you! Would you say anything mean about your "solicitor friends" or your beautiful children - one who is called India may I mention but you hate geographical names?

How do you think your views are making your children? Will they be turning into bullies like yourself because of your nasty views? What are you teaching them? I am sure that your children are going to grow up unpopular, judgmental and will be known as bullies if they follow your ways but at least they won’t be ginger and they will be "loved" by you.

I really hope you do change your ways, but I doubt you will. I find it hard to believe you are allowed to be on TV and I think TV bosses should be setting a better example and not letting you on there so you are unable to spread your horrid little views so publicly

I hope your "claim to fame" kicks you in the teeth and karma really does serve you one day.

TOMY - Neil The Seal Review

Are you looking for a special toy to entertain your child?
Helps them learn new skills but is also fun?

Maxwell is a happy and energetic toddler who loves to run around inside and out so when we were recently sent Neil the Seal by Tomy to review, Maxwell was keen to try it out.

Neil The Seal is an activity toy aimed at children 18 months +. Neil is part of the play to learn range from Tomy and he is here to help your child's dexterity. Neil loves to balance his beach ball on his nose. When you push Neil along you need to catch the ball in his flippers. Once he catches the ball in his flippers, Neil magically goes on to balance the ball onto his nose. The ball spins as Neil is pushed along!

Neil The Seal is very colourful and can be fun for all the family. When you push Neil along he makes a loud clicking sound which Maxwell enjoyed hearing. Maxwell enjoyed pushing Neil around but at first he did have a little trouble getting Neil to pick the ball up and this made Maxwell frustrated. We found that if you run towards the ball the ball will push away so the idea is to walk slowly towards the ball so Neil is able to scoop the ball up with his flippers. After a lot of practice Maxwell now manages to get Neil to pick the ball up and he loves to see Neil spin the ball on his nose.

Neil comes in two parts and is very easy to assemble. Neil is easy to transport to places and is easy to store at home as he is not a large toy. Neil does not require batteries which I think is great as we spend a fortune normally buying them.

One of my main worries about this toy is that Neil only comes with one ball. Without the ball Neil would not be the fun toy that every child would dream about. I have found that Maxwell has misplaced the ball on several occasions and I often worry if he was to loose the ball how the toy would be functional.

Neil makes a perfect toy for the summer as well as the winter as he has been designed to be played with inside the house and outside. When playing outside I would say Neil is more suitable to be played with on a flat concrete surface. Maxwell played with it on the grass however Neil didn't respond to catching the ball very well and the ball kept rolling away.

Although I had a few concerns about the toy Maxwell enjoyed using it and it is now a firm favourite from his toy box. We have had this toy for 2 weeks and I have already noticed that Maxwell's hand and eye co-ordination is much better. Maxwell continues to play with Neil and he hasn't shown signs of getting bored of it yet.

Deli 24 Snacks

Are you looking for the perfect snack for these hot summer days?
Suitable for all the family?

Maxwell and I are always interested to try new foods and we especially love snacks. We were happy when Deli 24 sent us a box full of snacks to to get our taste buds tingling. Deli 24 produce snacks which are ready-to-eat, chilled and savoury.

Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting, Kids

The snacks are ideal for lunchboxes and picnics. They are individually wrapped and come in singular packs. The packaging is funky, brightly-coloured and appeals to children. Upon opening the snacks you are able to find a cheesy treat wrapped in meat.

The snacks are thin and long so I had to cut them up for Maxwell to enjoy, and surprisingly he loved them. I thought he would be put off by the meat but this was not the case. I also loved the snacks and was amazed at all the different flavours they came in. There is a snack for everyone to enjoy.

Each snack is healthy and they are all:

• High in protein
• The meat has no added water
• Made with real cheese
• Are reduced in salt
• Low in sugar
• No Artificial colours or flavours.

When visiting Deli 24's website I found a recipe that I wanted to try. The recipes were based on using the Deli 24 snacks. I was keen to try one so I tried the ham, pepperoni and cheese salad.

Ingredients (serves 2)
2 Deli 24 Cheese and Ham sticks, sliced
Mummy Blogger, Mummy To The Max, Parenting, Kids
2 Deli 24 Pepperoni and Cheese sticks, sliced
2 tomatoes, diced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
4 big handfuls mixed salad leaves
1 green pepper, sliced
1 red onion, finely sliced
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

For the dressing
¼ of a clove of garlic
½ teaspoon of Dijon mustard
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Mix salad leaves with the chopped parsley, diced tomatoes, pepper and red onion. Add sliced Deli 24 Ham and Cheese sticks and Pepperoni and Cheese sticks and mix well. To make the dressing, peel and crush the garlic and add to a clean jam jar with the Dijon mustard, white wine vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. Add a pinch of salt and black pepper and put the lid on the jar. Shake well and pour over the salad with some sprinkled parmesan cheese.

Me and Maxwell got through the snacks quickly and I looked to buy some more in the supermarkets however I was sad to see that I was only able to buy them in Sainsburys and Sainsburys did not offer a full range of the flavours we were sent. If I can find them in other places I will be buying a lot as they are great.

Warburtons Review

Has your family heard of the Warburtons brand?
Are you looking for that special ingredient that is missing from your meals?

A few weeks ago Maxwell and I were not very well. We both had colds and felt horrible but we were soon cheered up when a large parcel arrived. We opened the parcel and were amazed to see a huge hamper sent to us by Warburtons. We were sent Warburtons sandwich thins, Warburtons Seeded bread, Warburtons half and half square wraps and Warburtons sandwich pittas.

Mummy Blogger, Parenting, Blog, Mummy To The Max

Maxwell and I digged into the seeded bread first. We had toast for breakfast and we both enjoyed it. I lightly toasted the bead and buttered it. I was a bit worried that Maxwell would not enjoy it as he is used to white bread which is unseeded but he loved it.  I like to see Maxwell try new foods and it looked like he really enjoyed trying the new textures.

Ben joined us for lunch and we dug into some delicious bacon sandwiches. We used the sandwich thins and the sandwiches tasted delicious. The sandwich thins are a thinner type of bread and are a smaller shape compared to regular bread. I thought they were the perfect size for Maxwell and I would love to continue to use them in the future.

For dinner Ben and I used the sandwich pittas to make some chilli chicken pittas. They tasted divine and we really enjoyed our meal. We stuffed the pittas with chicken and salad and we were impressed by the quality. Normally when I buy pittas they fall apart however this was not the case they held well even though they were full to the brim.

The next day for lunch we tucked into the square wraps. I have been a fan of eating chicken wraps since I was smaller. I eat them normally for lunch and I find they are rather filling. My favorite is Cajun chicken. When making the wraps I found that they were easier to roll than the normal round shaped wraps you are able to buy as they were square they were also easy to fold.

You can visit Warburtons website to check their amazing breakfast range.

You can also follow Warburtons on Twitter and become a fan of Warburtons on Facebook.

Rug Doctor Spray Review

Are you looking for a clean fresh house?
Easy to use cleaners which do the hard work so you don't have to?

Maxwell, Ben and I live in our flat. We have family members, friends and even pets in. We have cream carpets and they end up taking a lot of abuse from our dirty shoes, a clumsy toddler and spills as well as crushed in crumbs.

We were recently sent a set of sprays to review from Rug Doctor. We were sent Odour Remover, High Foot Traffic Cleaner and Spot and Stain Remover. I knew instantly the Spot and Stain Remover would be used first and I decided to put it through its paces.

Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog, Review, Blogger

The Spot and Stain Remover is great for using on carpets or upholstery. It is great at tackling fresh stains such as food, beverage spills, crayons, chocolate and grease. I decided to try it on the carpet where Maxwell had mushed a banana in. I was keen to remove the stain as it had left my carpet all brown.

Directions:
1. Remove any solids or excess liquids.
2. Generously spray area.
3. Lightly agitate stained area working from edges toward center.
4. Blot with a paper towel pressing deep into stain.(Difficult stains may require a second application)
5. Rinse with water and blot to dry.

Once I had followed the directions, I found the stain had been removed from my carpet. I did not have to make a lot of effort and I was happy with the final results. The spray was easy to apply and I found my carpet dried quickly after using it. I would say this is a must have around toddlers.

Next week we are having visitors round I decided my sofa could do with a spray with the odour remover. My sofa does not smell bad however I just thought it could do with a freshen up as it is used daily by everyone and I was sick of the stains Maxwell had left on it from his sticky hands.

1. Remove any solid matter from treatment area.
2. Shake well
3. Apply full - strength by pouring, mopping or spraying solution on problem area.
4. Do not blot or wipe - enzymes need moisture to work. Place a damped, colour-safe towel over the treated area and let dry naturally. In most cases it's best to allow area to remain moist for 24 hours. Highly contaminated areas may require a second application.
5. Once dry, if discoloration remains, simply dampen with water and blot.

Mummy To The Max, Parenting Blog, Review, Blogger

Once I had applied the spray I left it overnight and I was impressed with the results. My sofa smelt great and I was impressed to see that the marks had gone. My sofa was left smelling fresh as well as looking fresh.  I would definitely reccomend this spray.

Sadly we were unable to review the High Foot Traffic Cleaner as we need a Rug doctor machine to see the best results but look out for a review later on in the year where we will be reviewing the rug doctor.

Organix Video And Competition

Organix have launched an online video to help mums understand the role of finger foods in the weaning stages of a child’s development journey. The campaign, supported by research from a team of experts in child nutrition and development, aims to support mums with information and advice on this crucial stage. The ‘Learning to love food is as easy as ABC...’ video also informs parents about social skills, and how mealtimes can help babies’ development in this area.

Parenting Blog, Mummy To The Max, Baby, Mummy

“Many of us are aware of the nutritional benefits our babies get from eating a variety of foods, however it’s not as widely known that giving your baby foods of varied shapes and textures can help the growth of areas such as hand and eye coordination, chewing skills, mouth muscles, essential gripping skills, and speech development. Exposing a baby to a wide range of finger foods at a suitable early age can get them on their way to start practising everyday skills, such as using their pincer grip with their thumb and forefinger, an essential life skill to pick up small objects,” comments Dr Frankie Philips, a nutritionist specialising in child development.

Finger foods offer children a great way to explore food and the world around them as they can handle the food themselves, look at it, put it into their mouths to discover texture, taste and flavour, and to learn that their actions can have an effect. They are also an essential part of a baby’s diet, required to help learn the physical, emotional and social skills children need to feed themselves and to have a positive engagement with eating.

Child psychologist, Dr. Angharad Rudkin, says: “Parents tend to focus on their little one eating everything on their plate, or whether they’re walking or talking, leaving out an important area of development – social and emotional skills. Having a friendly interaction at mealtimes is just as important as getting them to eat all of their meal. The biggest thing parents want from their child is to be interested in what they eat and that they want to try new things. It’s this area of development that will come from enjoyable mealtimes enabling your baby to feel confident to try new tastes, shapes and textures.”

In line with the launch of the video, Organix has introduced two new finger foods to the baby food category - Strawberry Rice Cakes and Multi Grain Hearts with Strawberry. Suitable from seven months, Organic Strawberry Rice Cakes are carefully designed to encourage babies to develop more complex self-feeding skills and progress from grabbing with the palm of their hands, which is the first grip position a baby learns. The texture is firm to hold but gentle enough for a baby’s developing gums.
