Review - Sudocrem Suncream mouse

The majority of Mums will know the brand sudocrem for their nappy rash cream. Since Maxwell was tiny i have always used it. I have also tried other brands but have found Sudocrem the best.
Sudocrem have recently launched a new product the Sudocrem sunscream mousse and I was sent one to review. The also very kind and sent me a Bruce the moose for Maxwell!
Maxwell loves him and often goes to bed with him. Maxwell will be taking Bruce on tour - when he goes out on a few outings so watch out!I have always found using suncream extremely important. I have extremely fair skin and burn to a crisp so and i am very aware of the dangers the sun can course. This year i lost a friend due to skin cancer - so i would advise everyone to use some sort of protection.
Unfortunately the sun has been hiding for quite a while so i have been wearing wellys and coats.
However, this week we did have some sun so we decided to coat Maxwell in the mousse and make the most out of the sun before the rain came back.  I have had some bad experience with sun cream in the past
It being:

  • Too runny
  • Smelling horiible
  • Leaving an oily feel
  • Not protecting my skin properly
  • Hard to apply
First of all i was very surprised at how little suncream you had to use, i used a little squirt of the mousse and it expanded enough to coat me and Maxwell in the suncream! The mousse comes up all light and fluffy, it is not sticky or runny and is easy to apply. I was able to rub the mousse in very quickly and was not left with an oily feel on my hands, and definitely not on mine or Maxwell's body once i had applied it to the both of us.
The suncream has SPF 50 which is ideal for young skin and has 4 star UVA protection however it also worked well on me!
Overall i would rate The Mousse 5/5
You can follow Sudocrem Mousse on Facebook and on Twitter.
On Facebook they are running a competition where you could win a £1,000 holiday, Sudocrem are asking you to take there mascot Bruce the Moose on tour. You need to capture a magical picture of him whilst you are on your holidays this summer!

Hello Summer!

Maxwell and I have been busy for the last few days. It has been extremely hot weather here so we have been making the most out of it.
On Wednesday we visited the waterfront - We live right on the Solent so we are extremely lucky that we are able to just walk to the sea front! The seafront is in our little town so we went shopping and picked up a few bits, we also got cold drinks and sat and watched the yachts, i also brought Maxwell a lot of fruit as in this hot weather I'm not so keen on giving him lots of hot food!
It was very busy by the waterfront, I'm guessing as it is the 6 weeks holidays and it is beautiful weather however Maxwell loved it - Although he kept pulling his hat off and throwing it on the floor!
On Thursday we visited Nanny and Auntie Rachel popped in! We walked up the shop together, cutting across the park and making sure we took the route that was more cooler, Maxwell loves going out so not surprisingly he loved being pushed around in his pushchair whilst he nosed around. Once we had arrived at the shop we were delighted to find out that due to maintenance they were shutting all the chillers down and pretty much everything was reduced! We all managed to pick up bargains as nearly everything was less than half price! Maxwell was also happy as he got strawberry's!
Maxwell finished off his day having a bath at Nanny's, and he loved it. I have always been quite scared of bathing Maxwell as I'm very safety conscience and have always used something to help me support him however as it was extremely hot we let him lie back in the water so he could cool down! He was very excited and could not stop laughing!
Maxwell has been learning how to shuffle himself across the floor and is extremely speedy, i find i spend most of my day running around after him, to his delight as he thinks its very funny! I think he will be crawling very soon.
He has also managed to support himself when sitting up, I'm always very careful to put something around him incase he falls so he doesn't get hurt but he hasn't fallen yet!
I have also started giving him new foods to taste and today he has tried a slice of cheese! I was a bit worried as i thought he wouldn't be keen on it and i saw in a magazine most babies don't like new foods until they have tried it at least  8 times, however Maxwell is a extremely good eater and didn't batter an eyelid!
I haven't had a great few days of comping - im hoping its because it was hot that perhaps there were not as many comps about however i did win a great prize today - a Bastite goody bag. I was really pleased about this as i was going to buy some dry hair shampoo the other day but then decided i didn't really need it - have regretted it since, but now i don't need to worry as i have some flying to me in the post! The best thing happened though! I had a surprise delivery - a crate of energy drinks! Ben can not wait to tuck in as he is a huge fan of energy drinks. Just in time for this hot weather!
I have also won a few other bits - some special hair shampoo for red heads, a mug, some lip stick and some Olympic tickets for the closing ceremony, however i have donated these to my sister as it doesn't finish till quite late and i wouldn't want to leave Maxwell for such a long period of time! My sister Auntie Rachel and her partner - Uncle Rob are very keen on the Olympics, they went to London to see the last leg of the Olympic torch and is going to watch the Mens GB football team at Cardiff! Me and Maxwell hope she has a great time especially as Coldplay shall be there!

Review - Dummy Chain From Cloggies Toy Shop

I recently received a Heimess Dummy chain in the post from a lovely family business that are situated in Northamptonshire - Cloggies Toys. They specialise in selling traditional and high quality toys and gifts for everyone.
Me and Maxwell have always had a battle to keep his dummies safe. He's lost them whilst shopping, whilst going out for walks and has even lost them down the back of his cot at home, so when we were sent this to review we were really pleased.
When we received the dummy clip i was surprised at is appearance, normally dummy chains are boring, not colorful and don't have any texture for the baby to feel however i was really surprised about this dummy chain.
The chain we were sent was the design of a worm, the worm was made up of very bright eye catching colours and also was made up of little circle wooden beads that Maxwell loved to play with and touch.

I was slightly worried that Maxwell would perhaps get bits of wood in his mouth if he decided to suck the chain. However he placed it in his mouth straight away and we had no problem as the chain is saliva resistant.
When it came to attaching the dummy to the chain i found this was easy, the dummy chain is attached to the dummy by a little piece of cord and then can be clipped into place by a clip on the other end of the dummy. The dummy chain could also be used to keep toys safe, as you would be able to attach the chain to perhaps a pushchair.
When attaching the chain to Max he loved it and started to chew it, i thought it would be a great teether as his teeth are really playing him up how ever in the description it clearly states that it is not to be used as a teether.
When reading threw the description that was attatched to the chain i was plesently suprised to see that the
chain is made of wood that is from German forests, and also that it is crafted by hand in Germany.

Overall i think the chain is brilliant. Its bright so appeals to Maxwell, but also stands out when walking down the street as it is extremely eye catching. I have decided that i shall be purchasing a few other chains, and shall always use them as since using this Maxwell has not lost his dummy. We shall be buying different chains for different days to prehaps match Maxwell's outfit.
We found the chains to be great and had no problems with dummies being lost any longer.

I would Rate the chain 5/5

Odeon and Showfirst! - Poor Customer Service!

So on Tuesday Me and Ben were set to go and see Ted at Odeon Cinema in Southampton! I had managed too get 2 free tickets to watch the film! Me and Ben rarely get to spend time together so it was a treat for us.
We arrived in time to watch the film and were extremely excited as we had wanted to watch the film for a long time however when we tried to go through to see the film we were told the film was sold out.
I found the women extremely rude, as she laughed like it was a joke and didn't even apologies just gave us short answers and told us she couldn't help. How could it be sold out? We had tickets? We had travelled at 22 mile trip to be laughed at and told we were not able to see the film! As you can imagine we were unhappy and to top it off there were no other films we wanted to see around that time to watch and we didn't want to go and collect Max to late so in the end we went and forked out £20 for a meal.
Once we returned home I was sent a email by Showfilmfirst to ask us how we felt about the film - as you can imagine I gave them negative feedback they said they would be in contact - No contact as of yet.

I then emailed Odeon to ask why:
  • Why they had given too many tickets out for a film that they had advertised along with Showfilmfirst
  • About the rude member of staff
  • Was i going to be offered any compensation - 22 mile trip, food purchased to watch film and had to get someone to look after Maxwell!
The email I received back has actually shocked/upset me.
Even though the ticket has Odeon advertised on it they say its all down to Showfilmfirst as they "booked" screens of Odeon and they cant do anything about the fact to many tickets were given out, I was also told I should have got there earlier.
I was told to contact Showfilmfirst about any queries I had over the film... so i shall update if I ever receive a reply off them as i already had done this as my first port of call.

Secondly I was asked could I give them a time, description of the member of staff so they could look at CCTV cameras to see their member of staff as they were "extremely surprised"  as they are delivering "extensive guest service training" at there job. - I had stated what time we were there so clearly they would have seen who was checking tickets, I'm unsure why they have to feel the need to check the CCTV- Now it feels like im being accused of lying.

In the email received I was still not given a sorry about my experience - this was what disappointed me the most. We were offered no compensation and basically given no answers to my questions except its not their fault!

In future I shall be giving Odeon a miss and go to another Cinema, we have always visited Odeon, we even have their loyalty card!

Review - MAM Dipper Set

I recently received a MAM Dipper Set in the post, Me and Maxwell were really excited about reviewing them. Me and Maxwell are huge fans of MAM and love there products! We could not wait to try the dipper set out!
We received the dipper set and i thought the product stood out with its bright colour blue - in two shades. The packaging was minimal and the MAM logo was easy to spot. It clearly showed the product information and the age range - From 6 months.

I was a bit worried about Maxwell trying to feed himself as it is the 1st time he has ever tried, he is used to me feeding him off a spoon. Also at 6 months i thought he could be a bit young, also i thought it would be very messy and Maxwell would manage to paint the carpet, himself and everything around him in food, however i was proved very wrong.

The dipper consists of a spoon and a fork.
The spoon however acts more like a dipper and is easy for the baby to dip into there food. It has ledges on it to help keep the food on there.
The fork also had ledges on it which held food on it, it also acts like a dipper but also enables more food at a bigger size to be held on it
The dippers were easy to hold in Maxwell's small hands as the handles were also small. The dippers were also very safe as there is a safety shield on the dippers that stops babies from putting them too deep in their mouth.
Overall Maxwell enjoyed learning how to use them and didn't need much help at all from me, he found the spoon dipper the easiest to use and managed to get more food on there. From now on when feeding i shall be using these as it helps Maxwell learn how to hold cutlery but also gives him confidence that he can feed himself.

I would Rate MAM Dipper Set 5/5

Making The Most Out Of Vouchers

So this week i went to Tesco, armed with my plastic wallet of coupons i figured what i could basically get for nothing and wondered round the shop . This is what i managed to get - (minus crisps and baby heinz cooking sauce which i bought but are not in the picture)

This lovely lot came to an amazing £8.95 - the price of a pack of nappies! However before using my coupons it came to 23.02! A huge saving of £14.07.
What i love to do is wait for price drops or special offers or bog offs and then use my vouchers to there best of advantage, i normally always shop at Tesco!! I hate wasting money and believe that you can always find things cheaper if you put a little effort into doing so.
Also on this visit i had received some extra clubcard point vouchers in the post, so i used these which gained us 123 points - equivalent to £1.23 in clubcard vouchers!

Also this week i was lucky enough to be sent £10 of home on ebay! Luckily my Mum also received one too! Max needed a new quilt to match his new colour of nursery... we found some at £12.50 each and using each of our codes we managed to get to cot duvet and pillow cases for around £5 including postage!

A fab week of savings!

Review - Baby Sock Ons

In this cold weather Maxwell always wears socks as I'm very conscience about his feet getting cold but the problem we have is that Maxwell always pulls his socks off, or where he wiggles they always manage to pop off. When shopping i sometimes notice that one sock has been lost.
I have been looking to find a product which would help keep his socks on but never found anything which would help him until i came across Sock Ons.
Me and Maxwell were delighted when we received a pack of Sock Ons in the post! We were really excited to try them.
When i first saw Sock Ons, they looked great, they came in packaging in the shape of 2 little feet. The Sock Ons them self were a 2 shade of blue which i thought would match a lot of Maxwell's socks that he would wear, they looked very cute and stretchy.
The Sock Ons were very easy to use, you just place them over the babies socks and they stretch to fit the babies foot perfectly.
I did question if they would work as Maxwell loves to pull his socks off so he can suck his toes but also whilst playing in his activity centre they always came off! However i was proved wrong. His socks managed to stay on the whole time he had them on. Also whilst playing in his activity centre he did not slip in them.
I was also worried that they would be tight around Maxwell's feet and leave marks, however i was also wrong about this, he was able to move his feet like usual and no marks were left after we took them off.
Overall i had nothing negative to report back! I thought the product was excellent and shall definitely be recommending these! I think they are great value for money as purchasing a pair of these would save you replacing socks all the time. They are a great idea that was invented by a Mum.

I would rate Sock Ons - 5/5 - They are great!!

Maxwell Gets Grooovy!

Today we have bought Maxwell a new toy!
Seeing as he becoming such a big boy now he no longer fits in his baby bouncer and I sometimes worry that he may get a bit bored so being one step ahead we bought him this before he gets bored.
This is the Leapfrog Learn and Groove activity station! RRP £75!
He hasn't been using it long, however judging by his face in the pictures you are able to see he really enjoys himself in it.
His favourite part is the musical numbers that he presses, personally I think he loves the noise!
The Groove and Learn is very bright so I think this encourages the baby to play with it!

All the features on the Learn and Groove are entertaining - all but the karaoke book which determines which songs the numbers will play.... also there are only 2 song choices which is quite disappointing. The only other thing I would say that lets it down is that some of the toys only have stick on's, this isn't very good when the baby is dribbling, it leaves a sticky mess.
The toy is however quite easy to keep clean and has lots of things to amuse Maxwell.
Maxwell has only had the toy for a day however he gets very excited over it and we can't wait to see how he gets on with it.
We shall keep you updated.

A Quiet Few Days!

Me and Maxwell have had a few days off from our busy life's.
Maxwell has also been spending a lot of time on his tummy and is enjoying shuffling and wriggling around. It seems that I can't take my eye off him for one minute or he will be up to something! He especially loves pulling the clothes off the inside clothes airer if he spots it! He is loving the freedom of being able to touch every object he sees and being able to play with some of his toys that he wasn't able to before.

This week we have been trying to sort Maxwell's nursery out. When I found out I was pregnant and up until Maxwell was around 3 months old we lived with my parents, then we decided to fly the nest and get our own home. Since then I have been planning on sorting Maxwell's nursery out but haven't had much time and also the fact we didn't really know what to get him.
This week I decided to go ahead, and sort the nursery out and with a bit of luck (and help from my mum) we managed to purchase Maxwell some curtains! This is great because they are blackouts, something that he hasn't got at the present moment!
Being blackouts should stop him waking up early in the morning, as the ones he currently have are unlined and are very see through. The new curtains are chocolate brown and cream.
My search is continuing to find him a cot duvet to match and some other accessories to make his nursery into a proper little boys room, if anyone knows of any nice cot duvets that will match the colour scheme, at a reasonable price, please Tweet me or message me on Facebook.
I have also just finished sorting all his clothes out and he has around 5 bin bags of clothes already that are too small! I also managed to find his sleep suit that he first wore when he was born! I can not believe how small it is and how big Maxwell has managed to grow!
The only thing I have purchased this week is a new changing bag as my other one was bright red (it matched my other Silver Cross pram) so I have invested £40 in this lovely bag, it was reduced form £60! It's a Baby K bag and I'm extremely excited about receiving it as I have wanted one since Maxwell was born! I have also received my lovely French Connection bag that Ben bought me last week and I can not believe what a bargain it was! It is lovely!
My wins are continuing, I have only won little things with a low value but a win is a win, some of the wins that I have had are:-
  • Katie Perry False Eye Lashes
  • Body lotion
  • A T shirt
  • Cereal Bars
I am also very happy to announce that I have also confirmed with some companies that I shall be reviewing there fab products in the next week or so, I can not wait to review these as they are all benefiting Maxwell, Watch this space!

A Exciting Start To The Week!

Last week I entered Maxwell into a competition. I put a lot of effort into my entry and didn't even expect to get anything out of it, however I really enjoyed putting the effort in, and it made mine and Maxwell's day eventful.
On Friday they said they would email or ring the winner to let them know that they had won. No call. No Email. No win I thought to myself.
Yesterday my phone started ringing, withheld number... I don't normally answer withheld but something made me. At the end of the phone was Silver Cross telling me I had won the competition and had gone and won the new Pop pushchair worth £130! I fell silent and couldn't believe my luck!
The person at the end of the phone said how they loved my entry and could tell I had put a lot of hard work in - I was asked what colour Pop I would like and I chose the blue one as I think the other 3 designs are quite girly. I was told to expect a parcel today!
I was also expecting Maxwell's trike to come today! My bargain trike that cost £23! My excitement was growing, I was jumping from wall to wall.
Last night I was unable to sleep as I was so excited, also excited to see Maxwell's little face light up!
Today arrived... I was waiting, waiting. Bang, car door, next door neighbour, this went on until 12... Knock at the door! The pushchair had arrived!!!!!!!
I  hurried up the stairs with it, I ripped open the box in excitement! Maxwell was squealing in delight, shuffling around on the floor, wrapping himself in the protective paper and whacking the box!
I couldn't believe my luck! I pieced it together, took me around 30 mins, and was left with only what I can describe as a well built, good quality pushchair! I finished by looking in the box only to find that they had given me a 2 year guarantee with it as well!

After the first excitement a knock at the door at 4! Trike had arrived! Maxwell looked on in delight as I pieced the trike together! 2 hours it took me! Companies really need to sort there instructions out - no words just a picture the size of  the UK on a world map.
Once complete I quickly put Maxwell in it and walked him round the front room! He was in love with the trike! I can not get over what a bargain we had! I would have easily parted more money to buy it!
So now we are left with 2 great products that basically we should have paid £190 for but paid £23!
I can't wait until the weather is a little better so we can take Maxwell out in his trike, for now he shall have to roam around in his new pushchair! We just need to get rid of his others.

Review - Baby Mum-Mum Organic Rice Biscuits

I recently received a box of Baby Mum-Mum in the post and me and Maxwell were really excited about reviewing them.
When we received the box we thought the product stood out with its bright colours and its simple logo, definitely made it easy to identify the product.
The box included all the nutritional information and also a parents checklist.
What I also really liked about the product was that its age range was easy to identify - normally I'm looking on the back of products to see if they're suitable for Maxwell, however with Baby Mum-Mum it is easy to see on the front.

These organic baby rice biscuits are made with premium organic Japonica rice, organic sugar, sea salt and thiamin(vitamin b1).
Thiamin is a essential nutrient for growing children. The biscuits are also oven baked.
Baby Mum-Mum's contain no artificial colours or flavours; no preservatives; gluten-free; wheat, egg and peanut free.
Health authorities recommend simple, low protein, natural foods like rice, as a way to help avoid future allergy development.

These biscuits are a brilliant teething biscuit, they also help babies to learn how to eat solid foods.
Maxwell found them very easy to hold as the shape of them is a perfect size for small hands. He also found them very easy to eat as they melted in his mouth, however he also found it very easy to bite down on them to start with.
The biscuits made very little mess and I know I could give these to Maxwell whilst on outings but also at home for a snack.
Being an organic product I know that they are also not packed full of sugar like other products on the market.
What we really liked about these is that they are all individually wrapped! You get 18 biscuits in a box - so 9 packs!
This is especially handy when you are going out as most other baby biscuits are not wrapped individually so I normally have to pack a little box for Maxwell, however with these this is not the case. Being individually wrapped also means that they keep their freshness.

In conclusion I thought Baby Mum-Mum organic rice biscuits were brilliant, especially for teething babies and babies that may have just started weening or babies that have just started to be able to feed themselves.
There is nothing that I could recommend as Maxwell loves these biscuits, all I wish was that we had a unlimited supply!
They are mess free, Organic, have minimal sugar in them and are a very handy snack to take on outings with you.
Overall I would give Baby Mum-Mum biscuits a 5/5.
