Winning Wednesday

As many of my friends know I love to enter competitions however for about 6 months I haven't been entering many competitions. It became a pain to keep up with all the competitions I used to enter and I found I wanted to make time for other hobbies and spend more time with Maxwell however it is safe to say June/July have been amazing months for me and it's nice to say I am back in the comping zone. Every competition I win I am thankful for. Thankful for the fact that the prize I have won will change my family's life in some way. Here are a few of the fabulous prizes I have managed to bag myself over the last few months!

Remington Pearl Hair Wand
I was extremely happy to win this prize as I had wanted to win a hair wand for a long time. I am looking forward to using it to get summer curls as well as using it for special occasions like my sisters wedding.

8 Boxes Of Jubbly Ice Lollies
These Ice Lollies seem to be keeping us refreshed all summer and they taste delicious! We were sent lots of different flavours, so we have not managed to get bored of them yet. Maxwell is a huge fan of them and has been enjoying them a lot in the garden.

Jet Pack Backpack
I adore this backpack and I can not wait until Maxwell is able to use it. At the present moment he has a backpack for nursery but I have put this away for him to enjoy in the next few months. I am looking forward to seeing him use it as it has tons of storage space and has a funky design.

Bear Side Table
This is such unusual prize however it is one of my favorite prizes. We are still waiting for delivery on it however I can not wait to put it in Maxwell's play room. There are not many children who can say they have a bear table however Maxwell is one who can!

Munchkin Bath Squirters
These have been placed in the Christmas stocking box as Maxwell currently has a lot of bath toys however I know he will adore these when he opens them at Christmas. With 10 in a box I am sure Maxwell will not get bored of them.

£5
I won £5 on a click to win and although it is not a lot of money, it will purchase Maxwell a little treat which he will enjoy. I love winning money prizes however this is only my 3rd one since I have been entering competitions.

£50 Amazon Vouchers
I believe I was extremely lucky to win this prize and I am truly thankful for it. As a organised parent I have now got all Maxwell's Christmas and Birthday presents however I still have 2 presents left to buy. I have not bought them as they are a little too big to store however this voucher will buy the 2 presents left in a couple of months time! We will now have some extra money to spend on a family day out.

Sea Coral Yankee Candle Review

Since having had my own home I adore nothing more than lighting a candle and relaxing late at night. I love to kick back, relax with a drink and smell a wonderful warm scent that I know will go on to fill my home. Many of you may of heard of Yankee Candles and they are a huge addiction of mine.

Yankee Candles come in a whole range of colours and scents, some of my old school favorites include Black Cherry, Black Coconut and Lavender however Yankee Candle are soon to be launching a new range of summer candles. The new range is named "Holiday Time". There will be 4 new scents in the range and these include Coconut Bay, Juicy Watermelon, Sea Coral and Orange Dreamsicle.

Yankee Candle's recently gave me the opportunity to review one of their new Holiday Time Candles. After much deliberation I choose the Sea Coral candle to review as I found the name of it most fitting to myself and my family and I was also attracted to the colour of the candle.

Upon receiving the candle I was extremely impressed. Known for their quality, Yankee Candle did not disappoint. The candle was presented beautifully in its well know trademark jar and the colour instantly hit me. Although not a bright summery colour, the grey coloured candle looked attractive and would look beautiful in any home.

The smell of the candle was unique and something which reminded me of the fond memories I had on my families yacht as a child. The unique watery fresh fragrance instantly surrounded my home and I was hit with the the soothing warmth of sea musk.

The Large Sea Coral candle can be purchased over on the Yankee Candle Website for just £19.99 which is reasonable for the quality you get. The candle provides 110 to 150 hours of fragrance enjoyment, the candles are eye catching and smell beautiful. I am interested to try the coconut bay candle next as I love to group the candles around my home.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Top Tips To Keep Your Children Cool In The Sun

Maxwell has been a little fussy since this hot weather settled in so as a parent I have been trying my hardest to keep him happy and cool at the same time. Here are some of my top tips to keep children cool this summer.

Keep the curtains drawn - In the summer we like to keep the curtains closed. We do this so the sun does not shine into the house and create heat. Simply by shutting the curtains and leaving the windows closed in the day can keep the house a lot cooler. At night keeping the curtains closed but leaving the windows open will make the house a lot cooler. We have recently purchased Maxwell some blackout curtains, they are great in the summer months as not only do they keep the light out when it is time for bed but they are also great at keeping the heat out.

Always make sure your child is wearing loose fitted clothing - I always make sure Maxwell is in loose fitted clothes in the summer months. I believe this keeps Maxwell cooler in the day time. At night I put Maxwell in a simple vest and he sometimes has the option to wear shorts. I normally give Maxwell a cotton blanket to go over at him at night. I have found that if he did not wear any clothing he would actually get hotter and this would leave him hot and bothered in the day time and unable to sleep at night.

Wet play is fun! - Maxwell has been enjoying lots of water themed activities in this hot weather. From having fun in his paddling pool, to sensory themed water activities, to cool baths, Maxwell is a huge fan of keeping cool in the summer. When having fun in water please make sure your child is covered up. We have recently purchased Maxwell a fantastic swimsuit which keeps him covered from the sun. Maxwell also has a lot of sun cream put on him before enjoying any outside water activities. The last thing you want is for your child to be burnt.

Keep things calm - In this weather I find that Maxwell can get hot and irritated and a 10 mile hike is not going to keep him happy and cool instead I am a big fan of relaxing however relaxing does not mean that your child can not have fun. In this hot weather I have found card games, magazines, coloring books and reading books have been my best friend. Not only are these activities learning activities but they are also activities which involve sitting down and keeping cool.

Let your child have food choices - Maxwell has been off his food recently so I have been allowing Maxwell to choose what he would like to eat. Maxwell's favorite food at the present moment is salad, pizza and fruit. Maxwell has also enjoyed snacking on sandwiches, crackers and cheese and of course ice lollies. I have found giving Maxwell a choice makes meal times much easier. If Maxwell does not want to eat a meal I will encourage him to at least have a snack. I also encourage Maxwell to keep well hydrated in this weather and I like to keep his juice/water cooled in the fridge.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell had his last day of term at preschool
  2. Maxwell and I are preparing for our 31 days of fun
  3. Maxwell has been having lots of cool baths and ice lollies
  4. Maxwell more interested in the toilet than the potty
  5. Maxwell enjoyed seeing A.Rachel
This week Maxwell had his last day of preschool. Maxwell has made a great start to his first term and he is looking forward to going back in September. In September Maxwell will be attending preschool 2 mornings a week instead of just the one. Maxwell seems to be more confident since attending and I think his speech has slightly improved. On the last day of term Maxwell enjoyed meeting a clown which I thought he may be scared of and loved eating lots of cake. Maxwell was very happy due to the clown making him a balloon dog.

In August Maxwell and I are going to carry out 31 days of fun. Essentially it is a small bucket list of things that we wanted to do together. We have come up with some exciting ideas and we are really looking forward to sharing them with everyone. Our 31 days of fun has cost us pence to do so we are hoping to show our readers you can have fun on all sorts of budgets.

With the weather being so hot, Maxwell has ended up getting hot and sticky. This has resulted in me giving Maxwell a lot of baths. Maxwell seems to love having baths in this weather and is having up to 2 a day. I am hoping to get the paddling pool out for Maxwell over the weekend so he can enjoy the pool through out the day and then enjoy a bath at night. Maxwell is also enjoying lots of ice lollies and is eating his way through a load of boxes which I won earlier on this month. We have 8 boxes left so I am hoping they will last us all summer.

As many of my readers know, we have tried to start Maxwell off with using a potty however Maxwell is more interested in the toilet. Maxwell likes to slide up and down the room on his potty and then pee on the floor however if we take him to the toilet he shows much more of a interest. We are hoping to buy him a toilet step this week and we are looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

Yesterday A.Rachel visited us as she is going away for a few days, much to Maxwell's horror. A.Rachel was in a rush so she could not stay long which Maxwell fussed over. As soon as it was time for her to leave Maxwell decided he would ignore her and slam the door in her face as she left. Maxwell then decided he would slam the window on her as she decided that she would try and talk to him through it. Luckily Maxwell said goodbye in the end however it was funny to see him in a little strop about his favorite aunt leaving.

Christmas Stocking Haul

Did you know it is only 155 days until Christmas? Since January I have been busy buying presents and I have to admit that I have nearly completed my Christmas shopping for Maxwell. Maxwell will be 3 years old this Christmas and will be celebrating his 3rd birthday 13 days before Christmas. Last year Ben and I managed to buy Maxwell so much, he still has 2 toy boxfuls of new toys to use. This year we will not be going so mad and we will be spending more money on bigger presents instead of lots of smaller things. This month I have bought plenty of bargains to fill Maxwell's stocking up.

At the present moment Maxwell and I do not really play games however I am keen to encourage him to play games more. Priced at just £2.50 I thought this game would be perfect to get Maxwell's game collection started. The game looks fairly simple and I hope he enjoys it.

We are huge fans of Orchard Toy games. We always find that Maxwell understands them well and they create hours of fun. We managed to bag this game for just £4.50 and we then managed to get a extra 30% off. I am looking forward to see Maxwell learn shopping lists as well as names of foods.

Maxwell has always been keen to dress up so I thought this mask would be perfect. I paid just £4.50 for this and I thought it would keep him not only entertained but would be cool for his dressing up box. I am looking forward to playing with it at Christmas. Hopefully it doesn't scare Maxwell.

Maxwell and I have started to do a lot more crafts so I thought these would be perfect for Maxwell's stocking. I paid just £1 for this set so I figured if they are not great to make then I have not lost much.

I bought these for Maxwell as I thought they would be perfect to help him to learn and spell. I also thought they would be perfect to teach him new words. Priced at just £3 I thought they were a real bargain and since receiving them it is clear to see that they are good quality.

As a child I adored my marble run and I thought Maxwell would also enjoy one. This marble run is fairly small which I thought would be perfect to set Maxwell off. I paid just £4 for this and I am looking forward to seeing Maxwell's face when he opens it this Christmas.

Although I am unsure if this will really be suitable for Maxwell to play with at Christmas, I figured not only is it a fun game but also a learning tool. If Maxwell does not understand how to play the game, he could easily sit and count the wooden blocks and also balance them. I paid just £4 for this.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at what I have bought Maxwell so far for Christmas. At the present moment I am looking for a main present for him.  I have had ideas of a wooden kitchen, scooter or perhaps a doll house. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet and what will your children be getting this Christmas?

Fisher-Price Octonaut Bath Toy Review

Maxwell is a huge fan of the programme Octonauts and often watches it over on the CBeebies channel. The show is about a crew of underwater heroes who rescue sea animals and help protect the ocean. Every episode teaches children about animals, friendship and morals. Recently Fisher Price emailed us to ask us would Maxwell like to review a set of the Octonaut Bath Squirters and the Octonauts Spin and Suds Squid.

Maxwell adores having baths, especially in this hot weather so the toys which we were sent were perfect for Maxwell to use straight away. Maxwell first set about using the bath squirters. The bath squirters were presented in bright, colourful packaging and they were easy to get out of the packaging. Once open we were presented with two 4 inch tall Barnacles and Peso bath squirters and a small Narwhal the sea animal.

Upon using the bath squirters Maxwell and I found that they were made out of thick material which meant we were set to get hours of fun out of them. The bath squirters sucked up the water well and squirted the water in the right direction that we wanted them to squirt. We found the water holes were the perfect size not only to squirt water but to allow the water to go in. The squirters looked like the characters they were meant to and it was clear to see that Fisher Price had paid a lot of attention to detail when creating the squirters.

Maxwell then switched over to the Octonauts Spin and Suds Squid. I was extremely pleased to see that Fisher Price had again packaged the toy well. They had made it easy for the parent to get the toy out of the box. Instead of plastic ties in the box the box featured string ties which held the toy into place. The string ties made it easy for me to get the toy out of the box which meant there was very little fuss at bath time.

At first I was a little scared about letting Maxwell use the toy due to the fact that I thought it may be to hard for Maxwell to operate. I felt the toy may leave him frustrated however Maxwell got used to the toy straight away and ended up having a fun, frothy, whirlpool bath.

The Octonauts Spin and Suds Squid features Peso, Barnacles and Kwazii. The characters are a little less real life like on this toy however it is clear to see that they are the main characters and that the toy is based around the programme Octonauts.

The toy is easy to operate, all your child simply needs to do is rotate the tentacle on the side of the squid to make the other tentacles spin. The faster you rotate the tentacle the more frothy bubbles you make!

Overall Maxwell had a lot of fun using the bath toys and as a parent I was extremely impressed with their quality. Maxwell is looking forward to using them in his paddling pool in the next few days and is excited to make a whirlpool. The squirters also look fun for Maxwell to use in the garden as well as using them as role play characters.

At the present moment you are able to pick up the Fisher-Price Octonauts Spin and Suds Squid for just £9.45 over on Amazon and the Fisher-Price Octonaut Bath Squirters can be found for just £12.99. The price seems reasonable to me as the toys will create hours of fun.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

A big thank you to Max and Mummy for letting me use this image.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell, Ben and I enjoyed a nice meal out this week
  2. Maxwell has helping around the garden
  3. Maxwell has been on a hunger strike
  4. Maxwell was bought his first ever magazine
  5. Maxwell loved seeing A.Rachel and U.Rob
A while back I was given some vouchers for Giraffe. Our nearest Giraffe restaurant is in Portsmouth so on Monday we decided to visit there to go shopping and have a bite to eat. Unfortunately we ended up buying very little as there was not a lot in the shops which caught our eye, however we had a beautiful meal. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious. I was impressed with their childs menu and Maxwell was excited by the plastic giraffe which came with his meal. We will 100% be visiting there again.

Yesterday was a beautiful day so I spent some time in the garden. The weather is now getting hotter which means I am keen to get Maxwell's paddling pool out however before getting it out I like to make sure the garden is tidy and presentable. Yesterday saw me go round the edges of the lawn, clear the paths and tidy around the fencing. It took me around 2 hours and Maxwell enjoyed helping. Maxwell had a lot of fun mainly playing in the garden however he also enjoyed pulling grass, throwing mud in my hair and cleaning his toys with water.

Due to the hot weather, Maxwell has not eaten a lot. He has been off his meals and has been snacking on food. Maxwell has been enjoying juicy fruit as well as salad however has also developed a love for crunchy foods such as breadsticks and crisps. I hope he will start enjoying his meals again soon.

A few weeks ago I looked into getting Maxwell a magazine subscription however I could not believe how much they cost these days. For a annual subscription for Cbeebies magazine I was looking at £180 which is something which we can not afford so Ben and I decided that we would purchase Maxwell a magazine fortnightly/monthly.  We took Maxwell to the shop earlier this week and allowed Maxwell to choose his own magazine, as a huge Peppa Pig fan he decided he would choose the Peppa Pig magazine and it has kept him entertained all week. I was surprised at how much there was actually to do and the magazine was priced at just £1.99 which I think is a affordable treat.

Tomorrow is U.Rob's birthday so we popped over to see my sister and give U.Rob his birthday present. Maxwell was extremely excited to see them and spent over a hour playing. Maxwell enjoyed raisins whilst we were there and enjoyed showing A.Rachel his new Peppa Pig magazine. He loved seeing Ronnie rabbit and enjoyed playing in the garden.

Turn Back Thursday

When I was smaller, I had a Fisher Price classic phone and adored it. I used to love playing with the fun dial on the top and I use to enjoy the phones eyes going up and down. When Maxwell was about 1, we also got him a Fisher price phone. He also loves it and enjoys playing with it on a regular basis.

When I was younger I adored playing with my slinky. I used to make it go down the stairs and it bought a lot of fun to my life. I occasionally needed new ones as I liked to stretch the slinky however  I remember it's bright colours and its uniqueness. I love the fact that you can still purchase them now, when Maxwell is a little older I will look into getting him one.

The Little Tikes car is something that most people will know and love. It was a huge childhood favourite of mine and I love the fact that you are still able to purchase them now in lots of fun colours and designs. They provide hours of entertainment and it is great to see that you can now purchase accessories for them like a petrol pump.

Classic Playdough Pots
Most children adore playing with Playdough. I know I did as a child but Maxwell also loves to play with it. Playdough has not really changed since I played with it as a child but there are far more accessories now to use to create fun shapes, animals and other imaginative things.

Classic Kaleidoscope
I loved having a Kaleidoscope when I was smaller. I used to love looking through them and I enjoyed watching all the beautiful colours form and the shapes fall. Maxwell does not have a Kaleidoscope but I am keen to purchase him one.

My Pal Scout Leapfrog Toy Review

Recently Maxwell was sent a very special treat and ever since he had the pleasure of receiving it, it has not left Maxwell's side. Maxwell was sent the popular Leapfrog toy, My Pal Scout. As a huge fan of the Leapfrog and his favourite toy being Read With Me Scout, Maxwell was extremely excited to try Scout out.

At a first glance My Pal Scout looks like a usual soft cuddly toy for your child to enjoy however My Pal Scout has lots of extras which are sure to entertain your child. Scout is an interactive toy which can be personalised. All you have to do is simply connect Scout up to a computer with a USB which comes with Scout and you will then be easily able to change the music and personalise Scout. Scout will soon be able say your child's name, favourite food, animal and colour.

The personalisation set up process was incredibly easy and it took me very little time to personalise Scout for Maxwell. Leapfrog ensure that clear instructions show on your computer through the personalisation process. Since personalising Scout, he can now say hello to Maxwell and say this his favourite food is Pizza. I love the fact that if Maxwell's taste were to change, I could easily access Leapfrogs website and change Scouts tastes to suit Maxwell's.

Scout has 4 paws and each paw has a different feature, Scouts 4 paws are: Activities Paw, Lullaby Paw, Power Paw and Day Time Song Paw. Each paw has a different use. The Activities Paw is there to play and learn with, The Lullaby Paw allows your child to listen to soothing songs before bed, The Power Paw allows you to turn Scout off and the Day Time Song Paw allows your child to listen to fun songs.

Maxwell was extremely excited and happy when Scout started talking to him, he was especially excited when he heard Scout say "Hi Max". Out of all the features Maxwell's favourite feature was the music. Scout knows bedtime music which is soothing however he also knows fun songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Over the past week we have seen Maxwell take Scout to bed, on day trips and Maxwell loves to play with him throughout the day. Scout is the perfect size for Maxwell to hold on to, hug and take places. Scout is bright green and is very eye catching, his collar also lights up which Maxwell adores as the collar often flashes.

Scout is priced at just £13.47 on Amazon which to me is a huge bargain. Scout does so many different things that entertain children, I would say he is 100% worth the money. Scout is perfect for children aged 6 months right up until children are around the ages of 3.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Judgemental Mums With Negative Comments

In life as a mother I feel I need to seek others approval but why do I feel like this and why do so many others feel like this? Why do other people's opinion matter, why do people's negative comments hurt and stick, why do you feel at times your best is never enough? It's hard being a parent...

Bringing a little person into the world comes with a lot of responsibilities. I am sure that not every parent in the world get's things right however most parent's I know manage to do their best and do what is right for their children. In my opinion as long as a child is loved, cared for, is happy, doesn't face abuse, is fed, clothed and watered and overall is in a happy playful setting than who am I to judge another person's parenting ways?

Yesterday Billie Faiers gave birth to a baby girl. For all those who do not know who Billie is, Billie is from the Only Way Is Essex. As soon as news broke about Billie giving birth, there were many congratulations all over the internet however within 24 hours these congratulations turned into negative comments because Billie and her partner Greg were left seeing the hospital with a car seat in their hands whilst it was raining. People felt the need to pass judgement about the way the car seat was being carried whilst Billie and Greg walked under a umbrella. People posted negative and nasty comments about Billie and Gregs parenting abilities all because they had seen a photo which they did not like. People believed that Billie and Greg's newborn daughter was in the car seat and somehow though that she was not protected against the rain whilst Billie and Greg were under a umbrella. People spoke about their "disgust" and people went on to type personal comments about how Billie and Greg had "no common sense". Comments were also made that the baby was taken out in the "freezing cold" and that the baby should have a rain cover over it's car seat.

Comments turned nastier as people then started to poke holes into Billie, a women who had given birth less than 24 hours ago. Nasty comments about the way she looked and what she was wearing which were uncalled for. Billie was wearing a simple PJ set, something which I expect she felt comfortable in soon after giving birth but people had to be nasty and pass judgement.

I watched the anger, the negativity, the bitterness, the nastiness and the name calling go on for over a hour on one post over on Facebook however in the end I felt I needed to comment. I felt the need to comment due to the fact it was mostly women who were parents themselves that were passing judgement, people who had been parents for the first time, people who I am sure had to learn how to become a parent, people who perhaps had felt negative comments towards them before and had been hurt.

What angered me the most was the fact Billie and Greg were being picked on because they are in the public eye. If this was a normal family, you or I going about our business would all these people pick up that the baby could have been exposed to a small amount of rain or the fact of what a new mum was wearing as she came out of the hospital?

The time has clearly been and gone where other mothers support other mothers, especially new mothers. Instead we are now at a stage where people feel the need to pick fault in others. No parent's perfect, people get things wrong.

Have you fallen victim to being judged as a parent? Have you been left feeling hurt over peoples comments?

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell loved visiting the beach this weekend
  2. Maxwell has started to say a few more words
  3. Maxwell is excited to be going to the Lollibop festival
  4. Maxwell has started to become a lot more independant
  5. Maxwell is obsessed with Youtube
At the weekend we decided to visit some of our family at a local campsite, the campsite happened to be right next to the beach and we took a wander. Maxwell loved going to the beach and enjoyed the wind going in his eyes, he loved picking up pebbles and he enjoyed seeing the water crash onto the shore. We are hoping to visit the beach more often now the weather is getting better. It is a great day out for the family and is a free day out.

Maxwell has started to say a few more words. Maxwell can now say Door, Sky, Grass, O dear and a few other short words. I am still worried about Maxwell's lack of speech however now that he is going to preschool I am hoping his speech will come on leaps and bounds and that he will also get a little help there with his speech. I can not wait for Maxwell to be able to talk to me and be able to have a full conversation with me.

This week Maxwell and I have been invited to go to the Lollibop festival with Laura and Max over at Max and Mummy. Laura won tickets to go and she asked us would we like to go, we gladly accepted her invite. This will be Maxwell's first type of festival and we are both excited about going. We can not wait to see the acts which will be live and I know Maxwell is just going to love it. Maxwell is especially excited to see Mr Maker.

Since starting Preschool Maxwell has started to show independant he is becoming. Maxwell now likes to get involved with choosing what food he eats, what drink he wants to drink and even what toys he wants to play with. Although it is a great thing that he is doing this it is sad to see my tiny tot growing up.

Over the last few weeks Maxwell has become obsessed with Youtube, so much so that we have had to reduce screen time.  Maxwell adores watching kinder egg unwrapping videos, play dough videos as well as Peppa Pig. I have no clue why he enjoys watching play dough videos or kinder egg unwrapping videos but it really excites him.

Q Pootle 5 Jigsaw Puzzle Review

Maxwell is now 2 and a half years old and adores watching TV. One of Maxwell's favourite channels is CBeebies and on CBeebies you can expect to see Q Pootle 5. Maxwell loves the programme simply because it is simple for him to follow but he also adores the characters. Maxwell was extremely happy this week when he received a Q Pootle 5 jigsaw to review.

Q Pootle 5 is inspired by the books of Nick Butterworth, Q Pootle 5 follows the adventures of an alien and his friends on the planet Okidoki. The programme is suitable for preschoolers and teaches children about friendship and kindness.
The puzzle we were sent features Q Pootle and 4 of his fun friends travelling in space. The puzzle was quite dark however all the characters were bright and stood out in the picture. The 35 piece jigsaw puzzle is recommended for children aged 3 and above however Maxwell had no trouble completing the puzzle with my help. Thanks to the puzzle using high quality cardboard, the pieces fitted well together and when complete the puzzle shows a good quality, sharp picture.

The finished 35 piece jigsaw puzzle measures 31 x 22 cm which means the puzzle is a good size. The individual pieces of the puzzle are large enough for a toddler to grip and the pieces are not easy to bend. Maxwell had a lot of fun completing the puzzle and Maxwell has continued to enjoy creating the puzzle over and over again.

Priced at just £5.99 the Q Pootle 5 jigsaw puzzle is available to purchase from Amazon. There are four different jigsaw puzzles to collect in this assortment.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Max Rates..... Playroom Edition

This week I have been sorting the conservatory out. The conservatory doubles up as basically Maxwell's playroom and I have been busy creating a spacious room for him. I will be posting a blog post in the near future about what we I done in there to create him a nice area but for now I will leave you with what we have bought.  Hopefully it will give you some playroom storage idea.

This was the last item we purchased for the conservatory and I was worried it would not be big enough to fit all Maxwell's toys in however I was wrong. The drawers are perfect for Maxwell's smaller toys. I have separated all his toys and each drawer has a type of toy in. Maxwell's favourite drawer is the drawer full of cars.

I purchased these to sit on top of the storage unit. I love wooden furniture so I thought these would match the unit and the toy box well.  I love the bright colours which are used and I believe that it brightens up the room up a little.

This little table and matching stool was a complete bargain, I managed to pick this up for just £30 and I am extremely happy with it. Instead of using it as a sand table, I use the table as storage for all Maxwell's craft bits. It is a useful storage area and I love the fact the table also includes a blackboard.

I adore this wooden balance scale and I have had my eye on it for a long time. I love the colours which are used and I love that again it is made of wood so matches all the storage which we have recently bought. I think this is a great learning toy for Maxwell and I am looking forward to using it.

This was the first item of furniture we purchased for the conservatory and I have to say I have been very happy with it. Not only does it store all Maxwell's toys, it is the perfect little seat for Maxwell to sit on and read a book. I love how sturdy and well built the toy box is and I am thinking about buying another if Maxwell's toy collection continues to grow.

Little Daddy Campaign With The House Of Fraser

When it comes to kids fashion, I love to put Maxwell into nice clothes. I am the type of parent who enjoys seeing their child look smart. I do not base Maxwell's clothes style around any famous fashion figure, I just go with what I like and normally around what Maxwell's Daddy - Ben wears.

A few weeks ago House Of Fraser got in contact with us to ask us would we like to style an outfit around there "little mummy and little daddy campaign". I knew instantly that the campaign would suit us and I went about planning an outfit that would suit Ben and Maxwell's style.

Picking kids clothes from the House Of Fraser website was easy thanks to their wide range of clothes, accessories and shoes. House Of Fraser has something to suit babies, children, teenages, boys and girls. I was impressed with the amount of named brands they had on their site and the variety of different clothing that they had.

After spending some time looking around the House Of Fraser website I decided on some Tommy Hilfiger Boy's Clyde Jeans for Maxwell, as well as a smart Tommy Hilfiger Boy`s Flag T-Shirt and a Tommy Hilfiger Boys Hooded Sweatshirt to complete the look.

Maxwell's outfit is not only brilliant for him to go out in as its smart and trendy, it is also brilliant for Maxwell to play in.The outfit could either be dressed up or down, it would be suitable for Maxwell to go to nursery in however it would also be suitable for Maxwell to wear at a meal with our family.

The outfit is comfy for Maxwell to wear and is easy for Maxwell to move around in. I was thrilled to see that the jeans had a adjustable waist in. An adjustable waist is a must in Maxwell's clothes due to him having a tiny waist. I loved the bright colours of the T-Shirt and the hoodie and I loved the fact that the outfit matched thanks to Tommy Hilfiger's cool designs.

The delivery and service we received from House Of Fraser was superb and we got our items of clothing days after ordering. The clothes came well packaged and I would 100% recommend House Of Fraser to all my friends, readers and family.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. We have decided to transform the house a little
  2. Maxwell is doing extremely well at preschool
  3. Maxwell had a haircut
  4. Maxwell is looking forward to August
  5. Maxwell loves the garden
Since we have moved in I have not been overly happy with the house. I like to change things as I get bored of the same layout and I love to buy new things often. This week I have targeted the conservatory. The conservatory is one of Maxwell's favourite rooms however I find it quite boring and a little cluttered. In the last few weeks I have bought Maxwell his own table and chair set which has fantastic storage and now houses all his arts and crafts. I have also bought some new storage for his toys. There seems to be a lot more space out there and I am looking forward to seeing the final results.

Maxwell has settled into preschool well and I have been told each time he goes that he is behaving and he is as good as gold. Maxwell has already had a small accident there which involved him, water and sand. Maxwell decided to go swimming and ended up soaked in water and coated in sand - luckily they had a change of clothing to change Maxwell into.

Last week Maxwell went to visit Nanny and he came back with a haircut. Maxwell's hair had grown quite long and because of this it had started to go all curly. Maxwell looks much better now his hair is more tamed and we managed to keep Maxwell's first lock of hair which will be nice to put into his memory book.

Maxwell and I have an adventure packed August and we are very much looking forward to lots of activities we are planning on bringing to you. Keep a eye on our Pinterest and our Instagram account as there will be a lot of ideas and photos posted over there.

With all the sun which we have been blessed with, we have happily been playing in the garden. Maxwell has been enjoying himself on the slide as well as in his playhouse and I am hoping to perhaps make him his own little area in the next few weeks. In the next few weeks I will also be getting his new paddling pool out and a few other garden activities which I know he will enjoy.
