My Sisters wedding is just around the corner and recently I have looking for a few last minute items to go with my dress. I have recently been in search of a bra to fit under my bridesmaid dress as well as a few accessories which would match my dress.

Over the past weeks I have been looking at House of Fraser's selection of bra's and accessories which I would love to wear at my sisters wedding. I have found many bra's which I adore as well as a large range of accessories which would be suitable for me to wear to the wedding. After a lot of picking and choosing I decided on some key items, I have gone ahead and purchased these.

Freya Firecracker Underwire Plunge Bra with matching pants
My new found favourite underwear brand is Freya. I never knew that the brand existed but I think I will start to wear their bras from now on. The Freya range offer a fantastic fit and their is a lot of designs on the bra to choose form when you get around to purchasing the job.
The plunge and bra would set you back around £30. A lot of hard work has been done to offer such wonderful quality products.

Miss KG Gretal High Heel Court Shoes
Reduced from £65 to £25, these shoes are a massive bargain. I have been on the lookout for some silver classy shoes for a long while. Silver shoes go with just about anything. For a long while, I knew in my head what I was after when it came to bridesmaid shoes however I had not managed to find a pair of shoes which I truly loved after visiting many stores on the high street. I adore the design of these shoes as they will give me extra support when walking however I also love the small heel which these shoes come with.

Mikey Twist Drop With Pearl Set
For the wedding, I knew that I wanted to keep jewelry to a minimum. I could not think of anything worse than turning up to a wedding looking like MR T. I went to a great deal of effort to find the perfect jewelry set and luckily for me I managed to find it in the House Of Fraser. I am looking forward to seeing how the jewelry finishes my look. This set is simple and inexpensive.

Creating a Lego Table #UpcycleRevolution

Lego Table

You will need:

1 Ikea Lack Table
2 Lego Base Plates
2 Ikea napkin holders
Gorilla Superglue
Black Board
Command Clear Hooks
Command Clear Caddy
Bucket With Handle

Optional:
Chalks
Lego
Lego Book

  1. Get your Ikea Lack table, make sure the top surface of it is clean and make sure you are on a even floor to complete your project.
  2. First choose one side of the table to add your Lego Base Plates to. Once you have chosen what side you want to add them to, carefully add glue on the reverse of each Lego Base Plates. Make sure there is a lot of glue spread on the edges and the corners. Also apply glue to the middle of the base plate. Make sure when you go to stick the Lego plates down they are in line with each other and there is no gaps where they both meet in the middle. Push plates down firmly and allow them to dry in place.
  3. Carefully add your caddy and hook to the table. Read the instructions carefully into how these stick to the table. I place the caddy on one side of my table allowing it to sit in the middle. I added one hook to the table, I placed this on the edge of the table closest to the Lego Base Boards.
  4. Opposite the Lego Base Boards, add your blackboard to the table. Apply glue around the edges and hold down to stick. You have the option of using blackboard paint, stickers or shapes to create this idea. I used a A5 sized blackboard.
  5. Once the blackboard is stuck down, add your Ikea napkin holders, these will create a book stand. Before sticking make sure that you have chosen the right place for them to sit.  You will need to ensure that both napkin holders are flat sided down and are pushed up against each other. Make sure you use a lot of glue on these other wise they will break off and leave your table looking a mess.
  6. Finally add a Lego book, chalks and Lego to the table to create tons of FUN!

Lego Table

This Lego Table was made, created and a part of Gumtree's #UpcycleRevolution campaign. Before making this item, I had never up-cycled any items, I failed with glue and hated paint however after making this table, I believe anyone can get involved and make something new out of anything old.
What is going to happen to this Lego Table? Well it is off to be sold on Gumtree. Any money which is made will be donated to National Portage Association who help children under 5. The National Portage Association have helped Maxwell in many ways and we would love to raise as much money for them as possible.  If you love this post and think that it appreciates a little love, I would love you to donate to our chosen Charity. If you need any help creating this table please email hd076584@gmail.com. I will be happy to help.

Fathers Day Gift Ideas From Braun

Having lived with Ben for over 5 years now, there is a lot I know about him. One of his favourite things to do is to get his hair cut, his other favourite thing to do is making sure he looks well presented. Recently we were sent 2 Braun mens items for him to review, just in time for Fathers Day. Having moaned that his beard was looking messy and unkept along with moaning that his hair was growing long on the sides, the Braun Series 5 Shaver and Braun Cuzer came at the perfect time.

Braun Series 5 5040s Wet and Dry Electric Foil Shaver
Since I have known Ben, he has bought and tried many shavers. The most recent shaver lasted him a good while however it had many negatives which Ben hated about it. Ben hated the fact his old shaver was not waterproof and he found that it would often cut him. Ben was extremely excited to get his hands on the Braun Series 5 5040s Wet and Dry Electric Foil Shaver.

When Ben got his hands on the Braun Series 5 shaver, we put the shaver on charge. It took just one hour to charge the unit meaning that it would give Ben 45 mins full use after charge. The shaver also has the quick option charge which see's you charge the unit for just 5 minutes meaning that there would be enough power in it to give you a full shave although Ben has not used the quick option charge yet, I think this option will come in handy when he forgets to charge the device or when we are away, have ran out of charge and he needs a quick shave.
.
When Ben got the chance to use the shaver, he was excited. He was excited due to the fact he was able to take the shaver in the shower with him. Thanks to the shaver being waterproof for up to 5M, using the shaver in the shower was no longer a problem. He found that the shaver worked well under the water and he was able to rinse the shaver off quick and easy.

Ben found the shaver to be powerful and he said that the shaver gave him a good clean shave on his face and neck. He said that he liked the new multi headlock that the shaver featured however it is not something which he feels the need to use all the time so he sometimes opt to have the shaver on lock.  He also said that he was impressed with the precision trimmer.

The only downside Ben feels that this shaver really has, is the fact that the shaver does not have a stand. He finds that a lot of space can be taken up in the bathroom with the shaver however the shaver does come with a bag which means that the shaver can be stored safely elsewhere if you do not have a lot of room in your bathroom.

This shaver can be purchased from Amazon at the present moment for £98.55.

Braun cruZer 6 Beard and Head 3-in-1 Trimmer and Clipper
I knew as soon as Ben saw this trimmer and clipper set, he would want to use it straight away. It is a item which he has wanted to use and try out for a long time however he never got around to purchasing a set for himself. He was thrilled when he finally got the chance to review the set.

When we got the set, we charged the item up straight away. The Braun cruZer 6 took 60 minutes to charge, as soon as it was charged Ben was ready to go ahead and use the set. Ben opted to use the beard trimmer first and he found it the perfect tool to keep his beard trimmed, looking smart and looking the exact way that he wanted. Thanks to its special click & lock functionality, the adjustable comb stays firmly in place allowing you to trim your hair to the exact length you desire.  The beard trimmer allows you to choose a length from 1 mm – 11 mm. In addition, the hair comb also offers settings of 10 mm -20 mm.

The cruZer 6 Beard & Head comes with a completely sealed body, which prevents dust or water from entering the shaver and allows you to easily clean the trimmer under running water.

Overall Ben found the Braun cruZer 6 to be great. It works on both wet and dry hair which was a added bonus for him. He found the Braun CruZer 6 to be compact and he commented on the fact it would be perfect to take with you on over night stays. Overall Ben said the results were great and this is a item which he would like to carry on using as it develops over years to come.

This trimmer and clipper set can be purchased on Amazon for just £34.99.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this post.
However we did receive the products in this post for free. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Petits Filous Pouches - Ready, Steady, GO!

For the past couple of days, the weather has been beautiful. We have made full use out of the sun and have managed to spend a lot of time out and about. Not only have we been having a lot of fun in the sun in our garden but we have had a super time visiting local areas such as the park.

A few days ago we decided to go for a little walk to a park a little further away from our home. We decided that we would take Maxwell a packed lunch as there was a little eating area at the park. Taking Maxwell's lunch meant we did not have to rush home and we could spend as long as we wanted exploring the local area that we were visiting.

For a while Maxwell was a very picky eater however recently he has got much better and now enjoys taking a lunch box out with him.  Maxwell's lunch box is normally pretty basic however Maxwell had some brand new Petit Filous pouches in his lunch box that we needed to test. Maxwell has always enjoyed Petit Filous but we have found them a pain to take out and about however Petit Filous now offer pouches which makes them easy whilst out and about.

Maxwell decided to ride his bike to the park which meant Mummy and Daddy were left behind carrying lunchboxes, sun cream, hats and plenty of drinks. When we got to the park Maxwell had a fantastic time exploring however after a while he decided it was lunch time.

Maxwell had mini crackers, cucumber, banana, grapes and yogurt to eat in his lunchbox. All his favorites! Maxwell tucked into his lunch and left the yogurt to last. I was a little worried that he was avoiding it however he got stuck in straight away and seemed to gobble the whole pouch up.

Having never tried the Petit Filous Pouches, we were very impressed. The new pouches range includes three different flavours; Strawberry, Raspberry and Apricot. I love the fact there are different flavours to choose from, this means that there is a flavour to tickle every little taste bud.

I found that the pouches were mess free, Maxwell was able to use the pouch with ease and was able to guide the yogurt easily through the pouch and into his mouth. They were convenient to take in a lunch box and I loved the fact that a spoon was not needed.

Petits Filous Pouches are available in the supermarkets and are priced at 79p each however we managed to get them at just 59p from Ocado which I think is a fab price. Overall we had a fantastic day at the park, the new Petit Filous pouches get a massive thumbs up!

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this post.
However we did receive a voucher to buy Petit Filous Pouches. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Maisto Ferrari La Ferrari Remote Control Car 1:24 Scale Review

The boys of the house are car mad. Ben is obsessed with his car and Maxwell adores his play cars, as he grows older it is clear to see that he will follow in the footsteps of his father and have a strong interest in cars. For Fathers Day this year Ben told me he would love something car related. I thought it would be a brilliant idea to look for something that not only he could use, but something that Maxwell could also use. I thought that a remote control car would be the perfect gift.

Just in time for Father's Day, we were sent the Maisto Ferrari La Ferrari Remote Control Car 1:24 Scale to review. When the car came it was easy to see that the car was presented well in a bright car themed box. The toy looked fantastic and very lifelike to the model of the LaFerrari hybrid sports car from Ferrari. As soon as Ben and Maxwell laid eyes on the toy they both wanted to play with the car straight away.

The model came without batteries which was small pain, it would be brilliant if the model did come with batteries so that they toy was ready to use straight away. The batteries were easy to insert and the model and the remote used two different types of batteries - 2 AA and 2 AAA. Once inserted, the remote and the car were ready to use.

The remote does not have a on and off switch however the car does. Once the car was switched on we were ready to go ahead and play with the model Ferrari. We put the car on a flat, non carpeted surface inside our home and prepared to use the remote to guide the car around the house.

We used the remote for a while and we found that the car was easy to guide. The remote is a full function control, allowing users to drive it in any direction with the simple-to-use pistol-grip style controller. The car accelerates with ease thanks to a grip of a button. One thing that the car does not do is reverse. This was not a problem to us but it may be to other users.

We found that the model of the car was lightweight. The cars sleek design and plastic body allows it to reach respectable speeds on level surfaces. Not only did we try using the car inside but we also used the car outside. The car did work outside on our driveway but we did find the cars speed was a lot slower when in use compared to its speed inside.

The car is suitable for children 8+ and has a RRP of  £17 which I think is reasonable for a fun gift to gift this Fathers Day. Does your Dad love cars? Would he enjoy this gift this Fathers Day?

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Gumtree #UpcycleRevolution Bloggers Challange

Recently I was delighted to be picked for the Gumtree #UpcycleRevolution bloggers challenge. The project has been set up as part of Gumtree’s support for National Recycling Week June 22nd – 25th and in particular the National UpCycling Day – June 24th.

So what is this challenge? Gumtree have given each blogger who is taking part in the challenge a cool £100 to buy an item from their site and work on the item to make a upcycled usable item. Once upcycled bloggers are asked to attend a event in London where they have the opportunity to meet Max McMurdo, who will judge each item that 20 bloggers have upcycled. Once he has seen each item, he will declare a winner who then will get £500 to donate to a charity of their choice.

As soon as I got the brief about the challenge, I knew I wanted to get involved. Everyone that reads this blog knows that I adore to save money however although I love trying different things when it comes to saving money,  I have never bothered or had the confidence to upcycle a item that I have got for free or found at a great price.

For anyone that knows me, knows that this blog is based around Maxwell so it only felt right to create a functional storage living room item which would benefit him, his friends and other children of his age. I hoped that once I complete the challenge, my upcycled item would go on to show other Mums that they could create something as good as what I created.

After spending hours researching about what I wanted to make, I decided I wanted to make a shelf out of a guitar however I knew that this would be far to compered for me to make so I changed my mind on what to make and decided to go for a kids activity table.

Due to a tight time frame for the challenge I felt I had to find a item which needed to be upcycled ASAP so I searched my local Gumtree pages and after a short while I managed to find someone that had the type of table that I was after. This is the table which we purchased:

Look out for post 2 about what I created for my Gumtree challenge and how I went about completing challenge. Want to keep up to date with the challenge? Check out #UpcycleRevolution on Twitter.

Father’s Day at Truprint

Fathers Day is just around the corner. If you saw my post from earlier today you would have seen that I love personalised gifts, this Fathers Day why not get your Dad something special from the lovely people over at Truprint? Their gifts have great meanings and they are available to buy with any budget.

I find that my Dad is difficult to buy for, he is the type of person who has everything or likes something specific which can be a nightmare to find. Luckily there is a few things that he loves in the world and this Fathers Day I thought I would go the extra mile and create him something that he would have meaning to him, I also thought of making him items which would include his hobby. My ideas steamed from his love of boats and Maxwell.

Upon browsing Truprint's website I found a great range of gift ideas to suit many fathers this Fathers Day however I did find a few items which I adored and found myself creating and buying my Dad. The 2 items which I choose to make for him were a keyring as well as lovely note pad.

On the keyring I included a picture of Maxwell on it. I did struggle to find a picture that would fit the frame that Truprint wanted me to use however once I had found the correct picture, the process of ordering the item was easy. When the keyring came, it was brilliant quality. The keyring was very thick and the picture was very sharp. I was so pleased with the quality of it, I decided to order a few more for more of our friends and family.

On the note pad I wanted to add a picture that I had recently taken of a large cruise ship in Southampton. Behind it you could identify a few passing boats as well as the famous Southampton docks which have been in my life since I was a child. When the notebook arrived, there were plenty of pages in the notebook and I felt that the notebook was of fantastic quality. The picture looked sharp and the notebook was held together with a spiral binder.

Along with my order, we also created Ben a card. Maxwell is very much looking forward to giving it to his Daddy this Fathers Day. We also created Ben a picture frame,

If you are looking to treat your Dad this Father’s Day and would love to order some of the items which we ordered, remember to use the code: LOVEMYDAD at checkout before the 15th June and you will save up to £30 off your order.

Go over and have a peek at what Truprint have to offer. Are there any gifts which capture your eye?

Pirate Maxwell's Potty

Recently we were contacted by the lovely people over at Penwizard and were asked if we would like to review one of their potty training books. For a while we have been trying to get Maxwell into the habit of using the potty however he seemed very reluctant and was more than happy to wear pull up pants. Due to this, we welcomed the chance to review Penwizards potty training book.

Due to the book being personal for each child, we allowed Maxwell to choose what he wanted in his special potty training book. Maxwell is a visual learner and with a little help Maxwell and I tried to get the character in the book to look like Maxwell. Maxwell was able to choose what first name and surname he wanted in his book along with some important features of his character in the book such as hairstyle and colour, skin tone, eye colour and a mention of the parent who would help with potty training the most.

Once we had completed making the book, we waited for the book to be shipped to us. We were told a time period in which Penwizard thought the book may get to us in however the book arrived much quicker than they stated.  The book was wrapped well when it arrived and it was clear to see that little damage would occur in between Penwizard shipping the book and you the customer receiving the book.

Once the book arrived Maxwell was amazed with it. The story is quite basic, the story is about a little boy who still wears nappies. The story unravels and tells the reader that the little boy is getting a big boy and needs to start learning to use the potty and wearing big boy pants.

Throughout the story, the readers is asked which potty and pants he prefers, each potty/set of pants are pictured in various bright colours, wacky patterns or have pictures on that children are able to identify easy and come in different shapes and sizes. The language used is easy for a young child to follow and Maxwell found it easy to follow the book and comment on what he was hearing/seeing.

Overall we were massively impressed with the book and Maxwell now ask's me to read it daily.  It is a book Maxwell can easily relate to and loves getting involved with it. Soon after getting this book, Maxwell decided to do his first wee on his potty. Although we are still in the early stages of potty training, this book is a brilliant reminder to Maxwell of what he needs to do so he can wear big boy pants permanently.

If you are interested in buying your own potty training book you are able to purchase it from here. Penwizard also offer a wide range of other personalised book including Peppa Pig books as well as In The Night Garden. You are able to easily find these tittles here.

Fathers Day Fashion Gift Ideas

Fathers Day Fashion Gift Ideas

Fathers Day is only a few weeks away. It is always a busy time of the year for me as I have two men to buy for, my Dad and Ben. Recently I have been thinking about what gifts I can buy Ben from Maxwell. When it comes to gifts, Ben can be quite hard to buy for however he has a keen eye for fashion. Due to being a fan of fashion it is often easy enough to pick up a few trendy items to fill his wardrobe with. This Fathers day I have been checking out Scott’s, a great store full of fashion items for men! I have made a little wishlist of items that  I think Ben would like to receive as gifts this Fathers Day.

Nike Roshe One Breeze £70 - Ben is a huge fan of shoes.  He has a large collection that tends to get bigger every month. Ben has recently shown a interest in owning a pair of Nike sports shoes due to them being in fashion and men wearing them for day to day purposes instead of sporting purposes. I love these shoes as they look a comfortable fit. Another reason I love these shoes is because they are a great colour and will hide a lot of dirt that Ben often moans about on his white trainers.

Fred Perry Laurel Tape Track Top £49 - Ben has wanted one of these Fred Perry tops for several months. I often like investing in these type of tops for Ben as not only do they keep him warm in the winter, but they are practical for warm summer nights when there is a light breeze. The colour of this top would work well with a lot of trousers Ben owns.

Fred Perry Crew T-Shirt £25 - Plain white T Shirts can be teamed with many outfits and are a great addition to add to any wardrobe. I love this T shirt as the fitting is quite straight, this is the fitting which Ben often buys. I feel this top is reasonably priced and would work well under the Fred Perry Track Top which I have already selected.

Original Penguin Rocks Fragrance Gift Set £25 - Ben owns many fragrance sets. Fragrance sets are a easy type of gift which I feel I can give Ben on special occasions. Although they are a easy gift, I often find it hard to find a scent which I feel he may like so I often guess what he may like. This set is fantastic as not only does it come with fragrance's but it also comes with a shave balm and a shower gel.

What will you be buying that special man in your life this Fathers Day?

Thrifty Three Favs

This is a new post that I will be adding to my blog every month. Everyone always shows an interest on what bargains, freebies and finds I find so I thought it would be a good idea to make my finds into a post and share what I find monthly with all my readers.

Favourite bargain: My favourite bargain this month was a jumper which  I found in Dorothy Perkins. Our local Dorothy Perkins is closing down so I took full advantage of their sale. I managed to pick up a £26 jumper for just £4.60. It was reduced to just £5 and then had a further 10% off the price. I also found a gift card in my purse which made the jumper free - I won the gift card. I love finding clothes bargains as I am fussy when it comes to buying clothes.

Favourite second hand find: My favourite second hand find this month was parts of Maxwell's Happyland sets. Maxwell now has a huge collection of Happyland thanks to me buying sets at bargain prices. I managed to pick Maxwell the Happyland train set up for just £5 off a local selling site. I was happy to buy the train set in the  ELC sale from £50 to £22 however when I saw this second hand bargain I knew I had to purchase it straight away. Although it is second hand, it is in perfect condition and all the pieces are there. We have a happy purse and a happy Maxwell.

Favourite freebie: My favourite freebie this month was a designer T shirt for Maxwell and a game which I have put away for Christmas. I got these 2 freebies through a discount code which was taking £10 off no minimal spend on a website. I am very happy with my freebies and I know they will come in handy!
