Thrifty Three Favs

It's that time of the month where I write down my favourite "Thrifty Three Favs". August was a fantastic month for me. It saw me get a few bargains but it also saw me win a few fabulous thing's which as a family we adore. I also got a few complementary thing's which were a nice gesture. Without further a do, this is my 3 favs of last month!

-------------------------------------------------------

Favorite bargain: Last month saw me get some fantastic bargains but the best bargains  I felt I got were from Hawkins Bazaar. For a while now I have been looking to redo Maxwell's room. I wanted to change it from Disney Car's to a rainbow, retro room. After looking around on Google, I found some fantastic pieces on Hawkins Bazaar which I knew would look fantastic in Maxwell's room and they were priced in the sale cheaply. I managed to purchase Maxwell some cool Clown trinkets which were priced at just 99p and I found an amazing retro bird pecker which was priced at just £1.50. I love all thing's wooden and bright and these look fantastic on Maxwell's bedroom table.

Favorite freebie: Freebies were lacking a little last month but I did have a lovely win that Maxwell simply adored. Last month over on Instagram I won a lovely cushion - a London bus one. Maxwell is obsessed with London buses so it was a lovely gift to receive. Along with my win, Maxwell was also sent a London tray which was also a really kind gesture. I love it when company's go that little extra mile and can be ever so thoughtful.

Favorite gift: Last month, I complained to a few people about rubbish service. If the service is not great, I find honesty is the best key. If you do not voice your concerns about bad service then nothing will be done and other customers will end up having equally poor service. Last month, Ben and I went on a date night and treated ourselves to a meal. The meal was okay however our started was lacking any preparation and what we ordered did not look what we ordered on the menu. The floor of the restaurant was also dirty and I had a chip in my glass which was not great. I took to social media and let the brand know about the problem, a few weeks after I received a £30 gift card in the post to go back and have a meal. It was a nice gift and it was great to see that the company were trying to make amends.

Thrifty Three Favs

We are just a few days into the month. I thought this would be a great opportunity to write about my 3 thrifty favs from last month. Last month was a quiet months in terms of things such as competition prizes however I did manage to get some other freebies which I am more than happy with.

-------------------------------------------------------

Favorite bargain: For Christmas, I have been desperate to get Maxwell a few Playmobil sets. Playmobil is something which Maxwell adores, moving on from Happyland to something a little more grown up, I knew it was about time I started to source some sets. I was over the moon when I found out that Toys R Us were selling some Playmobil sets off for just £5. We decided to go and take a look around our local Toys R Us and were impressed to find quite a few bargains. In the end we managed to pick up £100 of  Playmobil for just £34 which is a fantastic saving. I can not wait to find more bargains and start the Christmas countdown, something which is far to early for some.

Favorite second hand find: My favourite second hand find this month has to be some books which I picked up for Maxwell at a charity shop. Maxwell is a keen book reader and enjoys being read to every night. I enjoy reading to him as I believe it helps his vocabulary which has started to improve every day. I manged to pick up 4 books for just £2 which I think is a great price when the RRP of one book is often more than that alone. I am looking forward to finding more books to read with Maxwell.

Favorite freebie: Last month I managed to get a whole load of goodies off a fantastic campaign called "So Post". For anyone that has not heard of "So Post" it is a a place where you are sent fantastic gifts from brands. The gifts are sent via social media and you need to be sent a gift from a friend to be able to claim your gift. Last month I was thrilled to get a full sized Rimmel lipstick, some amazing mascara, a can of Redbull and a few skin care products. What  I love about the So Post gifts is that they are mostly full sized. The mascara which I was sent had a RRP of £10, this is a massive saving for me and I am looking forward to receiving more gifts over the course of the year.

Thrifty Three Favs

This is a new post that I will be adding to my blog every month. Everyone always shows an interest on what bargains, freebies and finds I find so I thought it would be a good idea to make my finds into a post and share what I find monthly with all my readers.

Favourite bargain: My favourite bargain this month was a jumper which  I found in Dorothy Perkins. Our local Dorothy Perkins is closing down so I took full advantage of their sale. I managed to pick up a £26 jumper for just £4.60. It was reduced to just £5 and then had a further 10% off the price. I also found a gift card in my purse which made the jumper free - I won the gift card. I love finding clothes bargains as I am fussy when it comes to buying clothes.

Favourite second hand find: My favourite second hand find this month was parts of Maxwell's Happyland sets. Maxwell now has a huge collection of Happyland thanks to me buying sets at bargain prices. I managed to pick Maxwell the Happyland train set up for just £5 off a local selling site. I was happy to buy the train set in the  ELC sale from £50 to £22 however when I saw this second hand bargain I knew I had to purchase it straight away. Although it is second hand, it is in perfect condition and all the pieces are there. We have a happy purse and a happy Maxwell.

Favourite freebie: My favourite freebie this month was a designer T shirt for Maxwell and a game which I have put away for Christmas. I got these 2 freebies through a discount code which was taking £10 off no minimal spend on a website. I am very happy with my freebies and I know they will come in handy!
