Review - Crazy Soap

Maxwell has loved bath time since he was tiny, it is one of his favourite times of the day. He loves to splash, kick, squeal and play in the bath.
We were recently given the opportunity to review a few of the products from the Crazy Soap range. The  range has been designed with fun in mind for children.

The range includes:
  • Crazy Soap Foam - It's soap in a can that can be squirted, moulded and bounced into any shape. I had fun throwing it around and catching it whilst Maxwell screamed in delight. It encourages children to use their imagination and may even be a helpful learning source as they grow up they would be able to create animals or funny shapes before using it to get clean. They only problem we had was that when pushing on the button to get the foam out it was very slow at coming out.
  • Crazy Soap Body Paint - It's a soap that doubles as a body paint and is available in red or blue. We were sent the red. I threw it over Maxwell's arms and Back and he loved it. I think it left a gory effect and would be brilliant for something like Halloween as well. I am interested in buying the blue paint so we can mix them together to create purple soap.
  • Crazy Soap Bath Goo - It's a soap that looks like yellow goo. You are able to scoop it up and squidge it under running water and turn it into fruity fragranced bubbles for bath time fun that cleans little ones as they play. You do not need to use a lot of this so I think it would last a long time.
These products are great fun and have bought some new bath time fun for us. They encourage children to express themselves and get creative. Maxwell gets to be messy however is also getting clean at the same time. These products have bought lots of laughs and smiles and would be great to encourage children who do not want to bath that bathing is FUN!

Overall I would rate Crazy Soap a brilliant 4.5/5

You can follow Crazy Soap on  Twitter and Facebook
You are also able to visit there amazing website. Fun for all the family.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review. However we did receive the product for review purposes.

#EllasTVad competition

Today me and Maxwell have been busy entering a fab competition which we would love to share with you! We found out about it over on Lindy Loves Blog.

Ellas Kitchen are looking for little ones to appear in their brand new shiny new TV advert which is going to be launched very soon.

To enter the competition they are looking for creative mums and dads.
All you need to do is tweet a message starting My baby should be in #EllasTVad because – and tell them why!

The competition closes on Twitter at Midnight on Wednesday 28th November (Tonight)- after that 10 of the most creative tweets will be chosen and those 10 mums + dads will be contacted.
They then will ask those 10 shortlisters to send them a photo of their little one enjoying messy meal time fun that they’d like to appear in the advert.

The top 2 photos will be chosen by our panel of judges and the winning photos will appear in the Ella’s Kitchen TV advert in January!

Mine and Maxwell's entry was:

My baby should be in #EllasTVad because...
No-one can produce meals like he. He is organic as can be.

Bargain Hunting With Mummy To The Max #4

This week I bring you some great freebies to get you in the mood for Christmas:

Black Friday - Internacionale #pennypartyshoe

As everyone knows I have a eye for a bargain. First came the 99p dress from OMG fashion and next came Bid Tv offering a 99p party dress but today Internacionale hit off a bargain with 1p shoes.. You are reading this right and they were offering free delivery.
The shoes up for grabs were their nude and diamante-stud shoes which were £24.99 before hitting the bargain price of 1p.
I was sat waiting from 8.30am to claim my bargain and as 9am hit this morning and I was straight on Internacionale's website:

This was Internacionale's Advertisement of there 1p sale. It does not specify how many shoes are up for grabs but have later found out it was just 500!

Here where the black pair of shoes they were offering which i was trying to buy.
Item was added to basket!

At 9.03 when trying to check out the shoes this kept appearing on my screen.
At 9.10 after adding my Paypal option to the checkout I was faced with this again.

After trying to add both pairs of shoes into my basket as the black pair had sold out.
I finally was greeted by this screen - 30 Mins later!

Many people have been sent out a email asking why we
had not checked out the item in our baskets.

It seems to me all these "bargains" leave many people left with false hope and let down. Today is just another case of why many people should avoid these good deals if they don't want to feel left disappointed. There was only 41 shoes available in each size in the nude and black colour which does not really give you a chance of getting any.
In recent weeks  companies have had a lot of negative feedback about they way they have treated their customers that have not been lucky to be part of  a certain deal that a company has run, with the run up to Christmas.
But what are the companies gaining anyway with selling stuff off cheap?
They may be selling at low low prices but they are actually generating tons of traffic to there web page. People visiting may get tempted to buy something else so it can create more sales for the company itself not to mention the publicity they get from running the deal.

What are your thoughts on these bargain deals?

Review - Cloggs

Since I was younger I have always had a love for shoes. I have accumulated over 50 pairs over the last few years, however my collection has been missing something in the name of Converse.
My dream came true recently when Cloggs sent me and Maxwell a pair of Converse each. It was like Christmas had come early.

The customer service Cloggs offer is suburb. I was kept updated at all times by Cloggs, who sent us regular emails to keep us up to date with our order. When ordering Cloggs offer free delivery on all orders, free exchanges and free returns.
The day finally came and they arrived, they were well packaged and as I unwrapped the shoes, I was faced with these amazing gems. We were sent the Converse All Star Two Fold - In Aqua/ White for myself and the Converse All Star Re-Inlist Canvas Hi - In Black/ Rabbit for Maxwell.

I slipped on my pair of Converse and thought they fitted well. I was surprised at how comfortable my feet felt in them. They looked perfect teamed with a pair of jeans and a jumper for a more casual look.
After wearing them for the entire day, I wondered what had taken me so long to give them a try. Since having Maxwell I have lived in Ugg boots.
Converse shoes are perfect if you are on the go or have to pop out quickly but also if you are going on a shopping trip and want to be comfortable. They are easy to slip on. Most shoes normally give me blisters when I wear them for the first time but these are completely different.
My new Converse also have a unique design. You can wear them in two different styles. I choose to have them on the half fold but you can have the backs up fully.

When looking on the Cloggs site I was impressed at the wide range of Converses they had to offer. They had different styles in different colours that would suit every personality. I love the fact that they also offer Children's/ Infants a range of shoes. Since Maxwell has started learning to walk I have only found one other well known company I trust to get Maxwell his shoes from.

Maxwell had great fun crawling around in his shoes he was sent and also walking around in them. They fitted well and the laces kept the shoes on his feet. Recently Maxwell has learnt to pull everything off that goes on his feet but with these that was not the case. I normally find it difficult to even put shoes on Maxwell but with these it was a simple. They were easy to loosen and I was able to just pull them up at the backs and they were on.
The shoes he was sent looked really fashionable and looked great with a little pair of jeans and a jumper. In the winter months I definitely think they will keep his little feet warm.

Overall I would rate Converse a brilliant 5/5

No matter, what age you are, what sex you are or how you dress there is a pair of converse for you! Each pair has a unique design that is very eye catching. The shoes are made to last and are very comfortable.
Converse have recently brought out a new winter collection that are made to keep your feet protected from the winter weather.

You are able to find Cloggs full range of Converse here.
You are also able to find great offers and news over on there Twitter and Facebook page.

Cloggs are running a fantastic competition at the moment. They have teamed up with Rocket Dog, and are letting you choose what you win.
Head over to our Facebook page and see their competition post for details.

Review - Wax Lyrical - Under the Tree Candle

Wax Lyrical is one of the UK’s largest Home Fragrance manufacturers with all products manufactured in Cumbria, England. The company exports to over 40 countries worldwide and has licensed products that include this lovely floral collection themed around the Royal Horticultural Society.
Candles are a lovely luxury in life, a lovely luxury that I cant really afford. Recently I was sent the lovely Under The Tree Candle from Wax Lyrical.

The Candle was sent to me in a well packaged box, we waited minimal time for it and it was very speedy delivery. I experienced great service by Wax Lyrical.
The Candle I was sent was filled in a glass and had a lovely stainless steel lid, when looking at the candle you could see it looked very luxurious. It didn't look cheap and was presented beautifully. I liked the colour of the candle as it was plain and the design was simple. I think it would look great in many rooms in the house but would also make a brilliant gift for yourself but also a great Christmas present
When smelling the candle i was blown away by the lovely smell of a juicy combination of sparkling cranberries and exotic pomegranate. This definitely reminded me of Christmas. The smell wafted around my house, not a strong smell but a lovely sweet smell. The burn time on the candle was approx 35hrs.
The candle comes in two sizes - Size small which we were sent or a large size, the candle is also available in a tin.

Overall I would rate Under The Tree Candle a brilliant 5/5

Review - Big Game Hunters Dolls Houses Shop

On the 12th of December Maxwell is turning 1 and I can't quite believe how quickly he is growing up, not only is it Maxwell's Birthdays its also mine on the 13th December and I'm going to be 21 so we have some big birthday celebrations coming up.
We were recently sent a lovely wooden birthday cake made by Le Toy Van by Big Game Hunters Dolls Houses Shop, and we were thrilled to review it.

I am a huge fan of wooden toys as I believe they are more hard wearing than other toys out on the market as well as being safer than some plastic toys that use chemicals in their manufacturing process. They also bring childhood memories back as I used to enjoy playing with wooden toys.

The cake comes with 6 segments of vanilla cake that are held together with velcro. It also has a cake knife, 6 candles and a large Strawberry! The whole thing is hand painted and is well made.
I have enjoyed spending time playing with Max cutting the cake into piece and teaching Maxwell how to assemble the cake back together.
Although this product states its for 3+ I believe that younger children would enjoy playing with it.
The cake also has a cut out doily and plate on the back of the box, this also made the cake special. I personally believe this cake is great for imaginative play and as Maxwell continues to grow older.

I can not recommend this Le Toy Van’s Vanilla Birthday Cake enough. I find the durability of the cake makes it well worth the money and after your child has outgrown the toy it can be passed on and kept for future generations. It is a fun product and can be fun for all the family.

Overall I would rate this Le Toy Van’s Vanilla Birthday Cake a brilliant 5/5

You can able to visit Big Game Hunters Dolls Houses Shop where you are able to find not only Le Toy Van’s Vanilla Birthday Cake but also many other great toys for your special little ones.

Review - Nuby Bath Time Toys

Do your children love baths?  Maxwell loves them. He especially loves to play with his toys in the bath. Recently as many of you know we entered the Nuby bloggers competition. Unfortunately we didn't win but we came runners up. Nuby kindly sent us a bundle of products and in it we found the Tub Time Turtle and the Splish Splash Stacking Cups.

First up we had the Tub Time Turtle to review. The first thing I noticed was the turtles huge big eyes and his bright colour.  when we got him out the packet Maxwell grabbed him off me and started to play with him on the floor. I then got both of them in the bath.
I found the turtle floats at the top of the water with his bright green shell emerged in the water.  When lifted out of the water the holes slowly drain the water, creating a light shower of water that flows gently.
Maxwell started to play with the turtle. At first he did not quite understand how it kept filling up with water, his bath cup didn't do this after all. I then started to play with Maxwell with his new friend. I showered his hair with the turtle which Maxwell found more fun than using a cup and actually didn't mind the water getting in his eyes which he normally makes a fuss over. This bath toy is fun for Mum/ Dad and Baby and gets both interacting together.
I  found that Maxwell liked chewing the turtles legs and head and I personally think it makes a great teether too. When your child is a little older you could use this toy in their sand pit or water tray.

We then tried the Splish Splash Stacking Cups. There are 5 cups included all which have small holes in the bottom of them.
Straight away Maxwell pulled them all apart and let 3 cups fall in the bath water put kept 2 in his hands. He then went on to drain the water out of the and try and stack them in one another.
I then let the water shower over him much to his amusement, he tired to catch the water in his hands and also tried to splash me.
Not only are these cups brilliant for the bath they are also great to use when playing outside the bath. The cups are great to stack up and Maxwell especially loves to knock them down. They are also very easy to store in one another which means they don't take to much space up in Maxwell's toy box.

Overall I would rate these Nuby Bath Toys a brilliant 5/5

You are able to follow Nuby over on Facebook or Twitter.

Review - Bunches.co.uk

With Christmas just around the corner, now is the perfect time to sort out important gifts of flowers for that someone special in your life or of course yourself.
Bunches.co.uk are the leading online florist for you to send flowers by post. Bunches is a family run firm based in Nottinghamshire and have been delivering flowers by post since 1989. They select the strongest, freshest flowers from across the world.
When I was told they would send one of their beautiful Christmas Bouquets - Dasher's Delight I was over the moon.

The delivery of the flowers arrived early and were presented in a beautiful simple but colourful box. I was actually surprised at how eye catching the box was and couldn't wait to see its contents.
When opening the box I was faced with a beautiful bouquet looking straight up at me and I was overwhelmed with the presentation of them. Inside was gorgeous display of red Lilies, eye-catching Germini daisies, white Bacardi Chrysanthemums, festive red berries and red Spray Carnations.
The bouquet was stood up in a small plastic container which kept the stems fresh and moist within a stand-up box.

The flowers included a simple message card which was stuck on the lid of the flowers so you were able to see this as you opened the box. I thought this was quite nice to also open to as you are able to see who the sender is straight away but if you wanted something to keep, you would be unable to do this as it was on sticky backed paper.
The flowers also came with a small box of milk chocolate which I thought was a really nice touch. The box matched the pink bunches branding. The chocolate inside had pictures of flowers on which I also thought was really sweet.
My favourite part however was the tiny little leaflet that was included which explained how to care for your flowers but also some background info on Bunches as a company.

Overall, I am very impressed with Bunches as a company, they go to great lengths to ensure great customer service is received and also make sure they use high quality flowers which carry on looking good and healthy after being delivered to your doorstep. I will be happy to re-order flowers from Bunches again and definitely recommend them to friends.

Overall I would rate Bunches a brilliant 5/5.

Their Christmas section is large with 20 options to choose from which means there is something for everyone. You are also able to choose many add-on options - greeting cards, Christmas cake, Christmas stocking, a small teddy and a candle which would make your gift even more personal.

You can also follow Bunches on Facebook or Twitter.

Take The Bad With The Good

This week has been filled with sad, happy, proud and emotional moments.

On Monday, we took Maxwell to the forest. I feel we are blessed to live in such a beautiful area and I wouldn't choose anywhere else to live in the world. Me, Ben and Maxwell rarely get to spend much time together any more as Ben is always working so this was a lovely day out. We took Maxwell for a walk in the forest where we saw pony's and then took him to a special ice cream shop.
Carlo's the ice cream shop is a family run business and is well known in our area. Its a great place for a family day out. Not only does Carlo's have ice cream but he also has a lovely tea room and a field full of animals. We treated Maxwell to a ice cream and the sun shone for us. We had a lovely day out.

For a few months now I have known my Mum and Dad were moving out of our family home, off to search for a better life. With me and my Sister gone I suppose it didn't feel like our family home any more and felt empty to them. This week it was time to finally let go and move on, they moved out and the new people moved in. It's left me feeling slightly emotional but happy.
I think I feel the way I do as since we moved out I have known there just down the road when I need them, there now 2 ferry rides away, not on the other side of the earth i know. There is also the fact I spent 20 years of my life growing up in a place that I felt so happy.
But I have let go... and I'm happy, happy for my Mum and Dad knowing that there happy, knowing they are now able to do what they want to do for once instead of worrying about everything around them.
I think it's going to take some time getting used to not having them around so much but really I know in my heart that its the best thing for everyone. Sometimes it's best to let go and remember those happy memories.
Goodbye W'Water Rise!!

Maxwell continues to make me feel like the proudest Mummy in the world. He has blossomed into such a clever, happy, beautiful, child and has learnt so much in such a short space of time. I can not get my head around him being 1 years old in a few weeks. Time really does fly.
This week Maxwell has showed me why I am the proudest Mummy in the world an this is because he has learnt to crawl, crawl probably and not slither around on his belly. He is also getting more confident when standing and isn't holding on to everything whilst doing so. Lets hope he is walking soon!!!
Maxwell has also won a competition. This is his 3rd competition he has won and has won some lovely prizes including our Silvercross pushchair, but this time around he has won around £70 worth of baby stuff. We entered his Halloween picture into a competition an he was the winner.
Well done Maxwell!!!!!

I am still continuing to fight my Sinus an ear infection which is making me feel yucky, but with so much on my mind, I try and forget how horrid I feel and progress on with my day.
Me an Maxwell are also planning a huge surprise for our lovely readers, something to do with Christmas? So keep a look out and see what is happening soon!!

What Grinds My Gears

Recently I’ve been tagged by Lorna at Mummyandherboys in this meme.  I haven't done any of these before but I would love to do more so feel free to tag me in any fellow bloggers.
Today I am going to tell you what does my nut right in. To be honest I moan a lot, I can't help it. I guess a lot of things get to me and my way of venting them out of my system is moaning. My main moaning listener is my Mum followed by my fellow blog friend Vinda Loo.

Things that do my nut in -

- When I buy something in a shop I want the person serving me to hand me the bag and my change not just leave it for me to pick up - Customer service.
- Searching for hours trying to find bits of Max's toys to complete them - he has plenty of secret hiding places.
- Non payers on Ebay - Does Ebay even value their sellers after all we are the ones paying fee's. I hate having to chase people up to pay me and wasting my time in the process.
- How their is not enough hours in the day - I need more hours to do all my duties as Mummy, Blogger,    Comper and House Slave.
- Ungrateful people - I can not stand people who can not say the word Thank you even if they do not mean it, the word is manners.
- Having to pay full price for something - It makes me sick! Makes my stomach churn! What a liberty to my bank balance.
-Dirt on my nice hoovered carpets - I spend everyday hoovering.
-When people cant keep their opinions to themselves - I was a Mum at 19 yes.. It does not make me a bad parent, or a single parent. Do not stereotype.
- Washing and ironing - It is horrible to dry and I simply hate ironing as it takes me forever.
- The fact I can not drive - Life would be so much easier.
- The postman not delivering my post till 2 - Means I stay in a lot to get them. W-A-S-T-E O-F T-I-M-E.

I'm not a miserable person, I just like to moan at times. I think its great to get things of your chest and here are some of my hates.
The meme rules are to tag back to the creator and the person who tagged you.

Review - The Visionary Soap Company

We were recently sent some products to review for the Visionary Soap Company. We were delighted to be reviewing their products as they support such a good cause. They are a fair trade company that supports and makes a difference to people less fortunate than ourselves not only around the world but also in the UK.
We received the box of goodies very quickly and Visionary Soap kept in contact with us at all times, they provided us with great service.

When receiving our box of goodies I was taken back by the smell, it was lovely.
We were sent two lots of soap, one Geranium Rose and one Cinnamon Orange Clove. A Orange Geranium Hand and Body Balm. A Lemon Lip Balm and a Geranium Bath bomb.

Geranium Rose Bath Melt:
The bath melt is a mixture of fairtrade certified shea butter, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), citric acid, pelargonium graveolens and organic rose petals. When you throw the bath melt in the bath or under warm running water, the shea butter melts and disperses in the water, along with the essential oils, leaving the water fragranced.
It can make the bath a bit slippery and a little slimey but it does leaves your skin feeling moisturised The bath melts are soft and crumbly so you could half it in one bath and use the remaining half in your next bath.

Cinnamon Orange Clove:
It had a strong cinnamon smell but was not over powering, it came in the colour purple/black. The Geranium Rose smelt really sweet and a bit like Turkish delight. It came in the colour cream. When using the soap I found it was soft on my skin and was not rough. These soaps would make excellent gifts or would equally be good for personal use in your own bathroom.
Out of the two soaps my favorite was Geranuim Rose.
Whilst looking online at the Visionary Soap company website I learnt that the organic soaps are made using the traditional cold-process method and that they contain 60% Fairtrade certified ingredients when the minimum requirement for certification is 2%.

Lemon Lip Balm:
It left my lips feeling nice and soft and I believe this would be great little extra for a hospital bag, as when I was in labour my lips were left dry and cracked.  It would also be great in your handbag or make up bag as it is really small, however a small amount goes a long way.
Made with sunflower oil, fairtrade certified olive oil from Palestine, Fairtrade certified shea butter from Ghana, candelilla wax, vitamin E (as a natural preservative) and lemon essential oil, it smells and tastes lovely and citrussy.
You are able to buy four different flavours - lemon, orange, grapefruit or peppermint - I am certainly interested in buying more.

Orange Geranuim hand and body balm:
It is made with shea butter, olive oil and is lightly scented with sweet orange and geranium essential oils. The smell was not overpowering.
I used this after I came out of the shower on my dry hands. When using this product I would be careful not to use much as it can leave your hands feeling very greasy but it does state this on the tin.
What I really liked about this product was that the tin was also recyclable, so not only is it fair trade it is helping the environment out to.

Overall I would rate The Visionary Soap Company's products a brilliant 5/5

The Visionary Soap company have lots of good points going for them. There products are a great quality and at low prices. There products also support Fairtrade and also help the environment by using recycled materials.
I will definitely be purchasing more of there products.
You can also follow The Visonary Soap Company on Facebook or Twitter. For more information please visit their website.

So this week me and Maxwell went to the local shopping centre. We haven't actually been there for a while but whilst there we did manage to pick up a bargain.

Recently I have started shopping in Next as I personally think their clothes are a great price, with lots to choose from and I love the fact I am able to get both mine and Max's clothes under one roof. However I decided to go into Primark for a quick look around and I was happy with what I found. I have been looking for some tops to wear out and I managed to find one reduced that I really liked so it had to buy it.

It was a lovely sleeveless blouse, reduced from £12 to £5, so over half price, which I thought was a bargain. They had lots on sale but nothing else really caught my eye.

We are going out tonight, so I've decided I shall wear it over a black top out with leggings and a nice cardigan with some little heels.

What was your bargain of the week? We would love to see.
