Thursday, 3 March 2016
Mothers Day is just around the corner and I thought it would be fun to share 4 of my favourite Mothers Day treats. Every year I get a beautiful gift off Maxwell however every year I also get a few treats which I adore being treated to. Mothers Day is only once a year so it is lovely to be spoilt.

Lavender Yankee Candle
Friday, 13 March 2015
Since I have started writing this blog, I have always maintained the fact that I adore Yankee Candles. Yankee Candles are one of my favourite items to buy and when you enter my house you can either smell a Yankee Candle burning or you are able to see lots of Yankee glass jars littered around my home.
This Mothers Day I have asked for more Yankee Candles to be gifted to me. They are a fabulous treat and something which I enjoy collecting. We have recently redecorated our bedroom, so I have asked to be treated to a new candle which can sit on my bedside table however last week I was lucky enough to be sent a new candle which now sits proudly in my conservatory.
I was sent the lavender medium sized jar Yankee Candle just in time to celebrate Mothers Day with. Lavender has always been one of my favourite smells as it is a strong floral smell which I think is calming and relaxing.
When the candle arrived I was extremely pleased. The candle came well boxed and inside the box, I was presented with a medium sized purple jar. The purple was a light purple which I loved. I often enjoying taking some time out in the conservatory so I placed the candle outside in the conservatory with me and allowed the Yankee to burn.

The lavender smell filled my conservatory with a strong smell. I felt warm and relaxed whilst sat at my laptop completing the work I had left to do that day. The candle burnt slowly and slowly but surely filled my home with a lavender smell which I thought was great.
To me the lavender Yankee Candle is one of Yankee's classics. It is either loved or hated however it is a firm favourite in our home. Not only does it put me in a calm and relaxing mood, it also acts like a air freshener. Once I have burnt this candle down I shall be purchasing more of the same scent. A medium jar candle provides 65 to 90 hours of true fragrance enjoyment.
Yankee Candle's offer many candles so why not gift your Mum a candle this Mother's day? You can expect a medium Yankee candle to cost around £16.99 or a large one to cost £19.99 which to me is a brilliant price for a good quality, unique, picked gift.

Jules Destrooper Biscuits
Monday, 9 March 2015
Are you after a last minute gift idea this Mothers Day? Why not gift your Mum some tasty biscuits that are sure to get her taste buds tingling. A family business for over 127 years, Jules Destrooper is Belgium’s finest biscuit maker, using 100% natural ingredients of the highest quality.
Jules Destrooper uses a combination of skill, a secret blend of spices and no artificial flavours or preservatives to create an array of mouth watering biscuits. Jules Destrooper biscuits are extremely tasty and are the perfect treat to eat with tea, ice cream and are perfect to eat on there own.
I was sent a box of the Jules Destrooper Almond thins as well as a box of the Jules Destrooper Crocante. Out of the 2 boxes of biscuits I enjoyed the Jules Destrooper Crocante more. In the Jules Destrooper Crocante box of biscuits there were 3 different flavours of chocolate (dark, milk and white) and the biscuits tasted very sweet. The biscuits were quite small but very filling and enjoyable. I found that after I had eaten one, I was unable to stop and I wanted to eat more and more.
The Jules Destrooper Almond thins were also enjoyable however I am more of a chocolate biscuit fan. The Jules Destrooper Almond thins were very thin and I found that they were very easy to eat. I think that the Jules Destrooper Almond thins would be better accompanied with a sweet dessert however this is my own preferred choice.
Jules Destrooper Almond thins and Jules Destrooper Crocante are available for you to buy from Waitrose, Asda Or Ocado this Mothers Day. The Jules Destrooper Almond thins retail at around £1.54 and the Jules Destrooper Crocante retail at around £2.49. I think this is a reasonable price for both boxes of biscuits as they come well presented, are tasty and are a luxury biscuit. They would make a fantastic gift on there own or make a fantastic gift in something such as a large hamper.

LEGO Wonder Woman Key Light
For Mothers day I always enjoy seeing what others have received. Over the years I have seen unusual and unique gifts but I had never thought of gifting my mum anything unusual and unique. I normally stick to sending her simple edible gifts and a card. A few weeks ago I was sent a unique gift which I adore, I think it would make the perfect present to those wonder(ful) Mums this mothers day.
I was sent a Lego Wonder Women LED Lite key ring. The key ring stands at around 8cm tall and is bright in colour. The key ring is decorated to look exactly like Wonder Women. Along with her Wonder Women looks, she is also is designed to look like a small Lego figure that you may see your child playing with.
The Lego Wonder Women LED Lite key ring has a button on her tummy, when pressed Wonder Women's feet light up. The light from her feet is quite bright and at night the light would be bright enough to help you find thing's such as your front door key lock and items such as your phone or something that you may have dropped on the floor.
The Wonder Women LED Lite key ring has a strong key ring attached so it is unlikely that you will ever loose your keys or any other items that you may choose to hang on it. The chain on the key ring is long, I think this is a super feature as it means that the keyring is unlikely to ever get tangled with your keys.
The Wonder Women Led Lite keyring can be purchased from places such as Toys R Us and Amazon. The keyring has a RRP of just £6.99 which I think is great value for money seeing as it is a character item. I think this is a simple and unique gift this Mothers day.

Goya Black Rose Fragrance
Saturday, 7 March 2015
We are a week away from Mothers Day and I know many people are still looking for that unique gift to gift their Mum this Mothers Day. Sweet treats and books always seem to go down well however this Mothers Day why not gift your Mum a bottle of Goya Black Rose.
Goya Black Rose is a beautiful perfume that gives off a floral scent. True to it's name the scent gives off a strong smell of flowers. The smell is quite sweet and Goya Black Rose is a perfume which will turn heads as you walk on by.
Goya Black Rose has been exclusively re-created in England by expert perfumers who have brought this iconic perfume from the fifties back to life. The fragrance has been exquisitely crafted in the Goya Black Rose laboratory and then manufactured in England. Recently I was lucky enough to get my hands on a sample of the Goya Black Rose.
Once the perfume was on, the perfume stayed on my skin for around 8 hours. I had many compliments about the smell of it and when walking into relatives houses, I was asked the question of what was the perfume and where was the perfume from.
The 15ml of Goya Black Rose is presented in a little green and white box. This 15ml edition is a recreation of the original miniature Matchbox packaging. The packaging along with the box makes a fantastic gift for any Mum this Mothers Day. The 15ml edition is the perfect size for any make up bag or handbag.
Goya Black Rose retails at just £19.99 for a 15ml bottle or £49.99 for a 100ml bottle which I think is a fantastic price for such a unique smell that holds so much history. You are able to purchase your mum this perfume from here this Mothers Day. You are also able to buy soap in the same fragrance.

Mothers Day Gift Idea - Truprint
Saturday, 28 February 2015
On Sunday the 15th of March it is Mothers Day. It is a day that I love to celebrate not only with Maxwell but also with my mum. Over the years I have gifted my mum some presents that she has really enjoyed however this year I was looking for something which I could gift her that was unique, thoughtful and something which she would love.
This year I wanted to gift my Mum something personal and I could not think of anything better than gifting her items from Truprint. Truprint is a online shop which lets you create unique gifts to others by using personal photos. Truprint has many gift ideas to offer and I believe there is something for everyone to enjoy on their website.
First of all I decided to pick a canvas to gift my mum. I came up with the idea of choosing several photos of Maxwell and creating a large display of them. I decided to make the photo's black and white and added a black boarding to the canvas to ensure they stood out. When the canvas came I found the canvas to be of great quality. The canvas had a sturdy frame and the pictures on the canvas looked crisp and sharp. The canvas came with hooks. I thought this was a great touch as it would enable my mum to hang the canvas on her wall straight away.
Next I created my mum a key ring. I know my mum has several sets of keys which she carries around so I thought it would be nice to create her a new key ring which would take over one of her outdated ones. I loved the key ring when it came and I shall be purchasing one for myself in the next few weeks.
Finally I decided to create her a notebook which featured a photo of Maxwell on. My mum often carries a notebook around with her to jot bits and pieces down as well as using a notebook to create a shopping list so I thought this was perfect for her. The notebook has a thick front cover and inside the notebook has lined paper.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences
Wednesday, 2 April 2014
- Maxwell has been playing independently.
- Maxwell has been having little temper tantrums.
- Maxwell bought Mummy special Mother's Day treats.
- Maxwell has been eating a range of food.
This week has seen Maxwell playing independently with his toys. Instead of wanting to play with me all the time and instead of demanding my attention, Maxwell has been playing nicely by himself. Maxwell has been building blocks, playing with his cars and has enjoyed solving his own puzzles.
Maxwell has started to have little temper tantrums. If Maxwell does not like something, he now likes to scream, run away or pull away from what he does not like what is happening. This week I have been ignoring his temper tantrums and have them run their course instead of giving into him. I hope by next week the temper tantrums die down a little and Maxwell is back to his happy self.
Maxwell spoiled me this year on Mothers Day and managed to buy me a nice cardigan as well as a lovely box of chocolates. I also was given a cute card which had sweet little hedgehogs on. On Mothers Day I also had a lovely bouquet of flowers delivered. We had a fantastic day and I was treated to a takeaway from Ben in the evening. I am looking forward to lots more Mothers Days.
Maxwell has continued to try new foods and has started to eat lots of different things. Maxwell now enjoys sandwiches, crackers and occasionally baked beans for lunches. Maxwell also is enjoyed crepes, pancakes and cereal bars for breakfast. It is great to see him eat lots more foods.

Universal Textiles - Duvet Cover Review
Thursday, 27 March 2014
Recently I was contacted by Universal Textiles and asked would I like to review a product off there website just in time for Mothers Day. When browsing on their website, I was really surprised at the products they sold. From clothing, to home accessories there was something that everyone would enjoy. After taking a look around their website I decided to choose a plain colourful bedset to review.
I chose a double duvet set in a brown colour as this is what fits mine and Ben's bedroom well. When it arrived I was really pleased, the cover had been sent well packaged and upon opening the duvet was of brilliant quality. The cover came with matching pillow cases and the whole set was made of 100% polyester.
When putting the set on our bed I found the fit was good. Instead of the duvet being on the large side which means the duvet would flap around at night, the duvet sat nice and snug. The design was bright and I felt it matched our bedroom well as it had a range of different brown colours on which I found looked really nice
The duvet is machine washable and it washes up very well. The duvet also drys very easily which is a huge bonus for me. The duvet can also be tumble dried and ironed.
Overall I was impressed with the duvet set. Priced at just £16.69 I think it is competitively priced with other shops which sell the same kind of duvet. The duvet set can be bought in many different sizes and colours. If you are looking to brighten up your dull bedroom this would be a perfect addition.
I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.
