Christmas is a stressful time of the year for me and I love to be prepared. Normally by the end of November I have all my Christmas presents bought and I have planned to wrap them up however I often struggle with the wrapping as it takes me a lot of time trying to faff around with the tape. This year I have something very special to help me wrap my presents. Meet Scotch The Tape Dog!
Scotch the dog is a cute dog who sits obediently in front of a water bowl waiting for you to pull the tape from his mouth which is cut on his bone. The idea of Scotch is simple but impressive and he is easy to use. You simply pull the dog in half and pull the tape and attach it onto the bone. You then clip the other half of the dog which you have removed back in to place and you are then ready to go.
Inside the dog, they have provided a 19mm x 8.89m roll of Scotch Magic tape. It is a matte-finish tape which becomes almost invisible on paper. The tape can be written over with pens and pencils. This makes it the perfect tape to use this Christmas when wrapping presents.
One of the key features I like about Scotch is that I am able to use the water bowl as storage. This Christmas I shall be putting tags, ribbons and other small objects in the bowl to help me wrap presents with speed however after Christmas I will be using it to store paper clips and pins in.
Although I will be using Scotch to help wrap my presents up for Christmas, I also think he would make the perfect gift/stocking filler to an animal lover or a child who loves animals. The dog is available from Tesco and Staples with an RRP of £8.99.

With Christmas round the corner, many people have started to put up there Christmas decorations. If you are like me, I wait until a few days into December to put mine up. Christmas decorations can be expensive so here are some money saving tips to save money this Christmas.
Make your own - From bunting to salt dough decorations you are able to make your own at the fraction of the price the shops would charge. You can make it in to a fun day and get creative with your children or the rest of the family. For ideas do a web search. Set a budget - There is nothing worse than thinking you have overspent meaning you are short of money for other things. When shopping for decorations set a budget and stick to it. Do not give in to temptation and when buying question in your head do you really need it.
Offers - Many shops at the present moment are doing 3 for 2 deals and reducing items also. Shop around and find the best deal, don't buy the first thing you see. See if you can use any voucher codes or vouchers you have saved up over the year to help purchase your items to make them that tiny bit cheaper.
Limit the use of lights - Lights are pretty however do not go to OTT or you will be footing a hefty electricity bill. Stick to minimum and use other decorations to wow your guests.
Prepare - After Christmas a lot of Christmas decorations will be sold off cheap. If you can make do with some decorations you have this year then why not wait until after Christmas and buy new? This will save you a lot of money.

Since Maxwell was small he has always had a interest in music, he loves to sing and he loves to dance however he also loves to make music. When Bee Smart sent Maxwell a musical gift, I knew before we even got it Maxwell would love it.
Maxwell was sent a bright coloured xylophone to play with. The xylophone is set in a wooden frame and has 8 metal keys for Maxwell to make pretty tunes on. The xylophone comes with two beaters which are perfectly sized for Maxwell's small hands.
The xylophone includes a music sheet with some tunes on. Maxwell did need a little help to follow the sheet however Maxwell's favourite tune was Jingle Bells. The music sheet is easy to follow as the notes are coloured to correspond with the metal key colours. This creates easy play for your child.
The Xylophone is made out of hard wearing material and I especially liked that it was set in a wooden frame. This enables Maxwell to transport the Xylophone round easily.
Maxwell had a brilliant time playing with this toy. Priced at just £11.99 - on offer I think the xylophone is priced reasonably for something which will last you child. The design of it is also suitable for little girls and boys so it would be perfect to pass onto younger siblings.

This winter I think it is essential not only to stay warm and cosy in the home but to look trendy at the same time. A few weeks ago I was sent the perfect gift that would be a perfect stocking filler for all those Mummy's out there. I was excited to receive some lovely Cable Knitted Boot Slippers.
As soon as I saw the slippers I knew they would be simply perfect to keep my toes warm and toasty this winter. They feature a lovely faux fur lining inside and the outer is made up of a pretty knitted pattern. The boots themselves are cream in colour and feature a silk bow for decoration and include a tint of glitter.
The slippers come in boot design which I find excellent as it ensures that my whole foot and ankles stay warm. I sometimes find normal slippers can slip off my feet causing the heat to be lost in my slipper and resulting in my foot getting cold.
These slippers can be worn with many outfits, however I love to wear them with leggings or jeggings, a cardigan and top. I have decided this Christmas when visiting relatives I am going to pack the slipper boots on top of Maxwell's changing bag and wear them.
The slippers come in a range of sizes however cream is the only colour they come in. I was sent a size 5/6 and I am a size 6 and there was enough space in them for me.
I have been wearing the slippers around the house and I have been extremely impressed by them, not only are they comfortable but they keep my feet very warm and snug. The slipper boots are priced at just £12 which I think is fairly cheap for something which will last quite a long time.

We were recently contacted by Thorntons and asked to take part in the Thorntons Christmas Hero campaign. The campaign is a little like Secret Santa but you are able to nominate someone who you feel needs/deserves a treat. When I was asked to take part in the campaign, I had to say yes and I also knew instantly who I would choose.
There are 2 people who have always believed in me and have always been there for me, my parents. Growing up as a child me and my sister always had everything we wanted. My parents worked long hours for us to provide us with a great childhood. We had lovely holidays, camping in our caravan and sailing on our yacht to France. We had the latest clothing, the latest toys and we had great weekends as we went on many family trips. We were given lots of opportunities many people my age did not get and I believe that was down to all my parents hard work. It wasn't just about the money though, it was the guidance and support they gave me as well. If I did wrong I knew I had done, If I had done right they would remind me how proud they were of me and that is why today I think I am the person I am.
When I fell pregnant at the age of 19, they continued there support not only to me but to Ben and Maxwell. They let us live at their house whilst we saved to move out and were always around to look after Maxwell if we needed it. They put there life on hold to make sure we were happy.
They now live on the Isle Of Wight so we don't get to see them as often as we used to however they are always still there to offer advice and support and I truly am thankful to them, I know if I need them I am welcome to see them and they are always at the end of the phone. They are the best parents I could ask for and the best grandparents I could ask them to be to Maxwell. I am proud of them and everything they have achieved in life.
Being my hero's I was allowed to choose my parents a gift from the Thorntons website. I choose them the Family night bundle which was priced very reasonably at £25. The bundle is huge and taken apart it actually has a RRP of over £50. The bundle has something for everyone and I hope my parents enjoy their treat this Christmas.

This week has seen Maxwell be a lot more affectionate. Maxwell will come up and give you a kiss and cuddle, especially at bedtime. It is such a nice thing to see and for him to do. This week has also seen a new side of Maxwell which means he has been sharing a lot.
I have always worried that Maxwell was slow at speaking however this week has showed us that Maxwell is picking up speaking well. Maxwell has always understood what we say to him however he is very lazy at speaking. I hope by Christmas he will be saying a lot more words. I can not wait to have a full conversation with him.
As some of our readers know mine and Maxwell's birthdays fall in December. We have spent the weekend writing our gift lists and I have been buying wrapping paper and cards for Maxwell. December also brings Christmas which I must say I am already well prepared for. I have been shopping and buying all year for the big special occasion so I have not got a lot more to buy. We are really excited about December.
This week I went out and bought Maxwell some new shoes and a new coat for the winter. If there is one thing I like to see in the winter is a child well dressed and not cold. Maxwell has some new shoes which are trainer/boot style which will keep his feet very warm and he has a new red coat which looks fantastic with his jeans.
This week Maxwell had a lot of fun skidding around our home using a DVD case. I am sure he would love a scooter but due to the cold weather I think I will hold off buying him one until the summer. View the video below to see all Maxwell's fun!
Ben has been working a lot recently which means we have not had much family time to go out and enjoy ourselves however this weekend we have had a fantastic time as we had the chance to go for a lovely family meal at Weatherspoons.
In the past I was unsure if Weatherspoons was a family pub which was child friendly however once I had looked at Weatherspoons website I was able to see children were welcome. Whilst on the website I was able to see what Weatherspoons was the most local to us. It was easy to use and I was able to find out where one was situated straight away. We choose to go to The Admiral Sir Lucius Curtis which is situated in Ocean Village in Southampton.
Upon arrival we found there were plenty of parking spaces to park in, although it is £1 to pay a hour we were more than happy to pay this as Ocean Village is a lovely location to go to. Walking up to the Weatherspoons pub we found that it looked clean and friendly, there were lots of small tables outside which would be perfect for families to sit in and enjoy in the summer.
When inside the pub we found there were a range of tables for us to sit down at, some large and some small. I headed straight to the bar to ask a member of staff for a highchair. Although it was fairly busy, the staff were really friendly and managed to find me a highchair for Max to use straight away. We also managed to find him a small pack of colouring pencils to use on his child's menu which had a few activities to keep him entertained whilst we choose what meals we would like as well as wait for our food.
After looking through the menu, we went to the bar area to order our food and drinks. We had a short wait at the bar area as there was only one lady serving however once she had got to us she was extremely friendly and apologised for our very small wait. We carefully ordered our food and went back down to sit in our seats.
We choose to eat:
Starter
Nachos - Suitable for sharing - I am not keen on Nachos however Ben is a huge lover. The nachos were beautifully presented and were incredibly tasty. The cheese was soft, something which I am normally fussy about. There was quite a large portion and we found the starter was great value for money.
Mains
Mexican Burger - Ben had the Mexican burger. The burger itself was large and Ben choose to have it with onion rings and chips. Overall he said he really enjoyed his meal however the peppers which were in the burger were extremely hot and he ended up having to remove them. This is down to personal preference though and will vary from person to person.
Beef Burger - I choose a beef burger. The burger came plain however I choose to add cheese, bacon and I also asked for onion rings as a side order. The burger tasted delicious and was cooked beautifully.
Chicken Nuggets, Chips and Peas - Maxwell had chicken nuggets, chips and peas. The meal was a good size for Maxwell and he really enjoyed his meal. His meal also came with a pack of fruit which he loved eating as a desert.
One of the things which really impressed me about Weatherspoons was there friendliness towards Max. Max was given children's cutlery, given activity to do which kept him entertained and was even asked personally had he finished his meal. I found this to be a really nice touch.
I was impressed to see that there were some healthy options included on the menu which are under 500 calories including salmon salads and skinny chicken breast burgers. I was also impressed to see that Weatherspoons are also advertising Christmas dinner this year.
Overall we had a extremely positive experience. The staff were extremely friendly and although they were quite busy they were happy to go out of there way for us. When me and Ben next get some time to ourselves we are hoping to visit Weatherspoons again and then go on to the cinema which is situated next door. Whatever age you are Weatherspoons has something for everyone. Overall a huge thumbs up!
I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive vouchers for Weatherspoons. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.
Food shopping can get more expensive around Christmas time as everyone enjoys having a few more treats however you can save money on food shopping with a few simple steps. This will enable you to buy that special Christmas present for that loved one or buy more chocolate to indulge in.
Buy In Bulk - If you buy things in bulk then this can often be cheaper. Ben and I sometimes visit wholesalers to get fizzy drinks in bulk. We often do this at Christmas time when we are expecting guests. We sometimes also manage to pick up stocking filler treats for the rest of the family. We find it is much cheaper than your regular supermarket.
Compare Supermarket Prices - Use the website mySupermarket.co.uk to compare the price of a basket of goods at the UK's 'big four' supermarkets - Asda, Sainsbury's, Ocado and Tesco. As a lover of internet food shopping this is great for us as I am able to compare prices and I always manage to save a few pounds, it also means I miss the Christmas rush at the supermarkets and I can get my food delivered in the comfort of my own home.
Try cheaper cuts of meat - Choosing a cheaper cut of meat, such as braising steak over fillet steak can work this winter. You can use a slow cooker to make meals and this will gradually break down the fibres in cheaper meat, giving great taste at a lower cost. You can also visit local butchers as often they can do a better deal on meat than your local supermarkets.
Use Vouchers - I love using vouchers to pay towards my shopping, weather its £5, £1 or £10 it is money saved which I am able to use towards something else. I often find vouchers in magazines, newspapers however I also check sites on the internet such as http://www.moneysavingexpert.com.
Buy Reduced items - In our house we have 2 freezers, both freezers are normally always full. I often buy reduced items and I end up freezing them. Just because they are reduced does not mean they are not good quality and not edible. Before buying reduced items always plan what you are going to do with them, if you plan on eating them that day as the date code ends eat them, if not see if they have a freezing option and stick them in your freezer to eat at a later date.
A few months ago we reviewed some fantastic products from the Winnie the Pooh range for TOMY. A few weeks ago we were sent some more items from the range and Maxwell was very excited. This time Maxwell had been sent a Dancing Winnie The Pooh as well as a Winnie The Pooh stack, pour, post and play toy.
As soon as Maxwell saw the Dancing Winnie The Pooh, I knew he would really enjoy the toy. Maxwell loves music and also loves to move, I can barely think of a time where he manages to sit still so I knew the Dancing Winnie The Pooh would keep him entertained.
The Dancing Winnie The Pooh is very easy to operate. With a simple squeeze of his left hand he will sing and dance along to 'Up, Down, Touch the Ground' and with a squeeze of the right hand you can play a game of Musical Statues. Maxwell loves to hear Winnie the Pooh sing and dance, although Maxwell has not mastered just yet how to play musical statues he still enjoys giggling and playing with Pooh.
The dancing Winnie The Pooh is aimed for children aged 10 months+. At first I did think the toy maybe a little too babyish for Maxwell however I was proved wrong as the musical statue game is actually a little too old for Maxwell, so the toy is perfect for Maxwell to grow up with.
I think this would make a fabulous Christmas or birthday present It is full of fun and can bring a lot of smiles to your children's faces. I have also found that it can entertain adults (like Maxwell's daddy). This toy retails at around £30.00 and requires four AA batteries (which are included).
The Winnie the Pooh Stack Pour Post 'n' Play toy is a shape sorter, a bath toy and enables your child to be able to stack cups. This toy has been cleverly thought out as it enables your child to have hours of fun. It is easy to use as all the parts are perfect for little fingers and it is very bright which makes it very appealing to children.
The toy has a set of 5 stacking cups. Each cups has a different design of holes cut in their bases so that you can use them in the bath as pouring cups. The two largest cups screw together and you then are able to place the yellow' lid on it to turn it into a shape sorter. The toy then comes with 3 different shapes that you can use when the toy is in the shape sorter mode.
Maxwell had a lot of fun with this toy. It was brilliant to see all the different things he could do with just one toy. If I could improve anything about this toy it would be that there would be more shapes to sort. With there only being 3, I think Maxwell will end up finding the shape sorting too easy as he will familiarise himself with it and grow out of the toy quite quickly.
The toy is recommended for children aged 1+. I think the toy is fairly priced at just £15.00 RRP as it has so many uses and your child can grow with it. This toy also does not need batteries which is also a huge hit with me.
I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.
This week Ben had a few extra days off work so yesterday we decided to take Maxwell out for lunch. We had a lovely time and Maxwell was very well behaved. Whilst out we learnt that Maxwell enjoys dipping his chips into sauces, which he had seen us do. I am looking forward to having more days out as a family.
Maxwell has learn a few more words this week. He now says see when he knows people are leaving and he likes to also try and copy words which people say to him. This week he managed to say "Say What" when Ben said it to him joking around. I cant wait to be able to talk to Maxwell and hold a full conversation with him.
This week saw Maxwell learn to say YAY whilst throwing his arms in the air (See the video below). I think its incredibly cute and funny. When certain programmes are on TV or if he does something which we praise him for he now shouts YAY and raises his arms in the air.
At the weekend we went round Ben's families house as it was his sisters Birthday. Whilst there Maxwell enjoyed some party food but also found a new love, balloons. Maxwell spent a good few hours playing with the balloons. He enjoyed throwing them around the room, tiding them up and eventually when he was confident with them he enjoyed throwing them at people and balancing on them.
Maxwell has started to get a little bossy. If he doesn't get his own way he has started to have paddy's and make a huge fuss. It is not an every day occurrence but when it does occur it can get very tiring. At times it can get a little upsetting, however he is growing up... maybe he has hit his terrible 2's a few months early.
