Our Day Out With The iCandy Raspberry Pushchair

Recently we were sent a iCandy Raspberry Pushchair to review. We have had the pushchair for a month now and we adore it. You are able to see our introduction to the pushchair here however today I wanted to write a post about our day out with the pushchair.

We took the iCandy  Raspberry Pushchair for a trip in the New Forest. We met my parents and decided to go for a walk in the forest, shortly after our walk we visited a lovely holiday park for a bite to eat.

The iCandy Raspberry Pushchair was easy to fit into the boot of the car. I was a little worried to see how it would fit in the car due to the fact we have a Ford Focus ST which I think has quite a small boot however it folded up neatly and fitted well. Due to us having a small boot, I feel this pushchair will fit in a arrange of boots so transportation is not a problem.

When we arrived at our destination, we got the pushchair out and put Maxwell into it straight away. The pushchair takes seconds to put up and the process of doing this is very easy. You simply push a button on the handle and a button on the chaise and this releases the pushchair.

As a family, we headed off on our walk. We had a brilliant time and Maxwell adored walking around the forest. After our walk we passed the holiday park and explored. We went to the park, went over a lot of speed bumps, went to the soft play and had fun in the arcades.

Throughout our whole day out, we were pleasantly surprised at how well the iCandy Raspberry pushchair handled itself. We found that the pushchair handled different terrains well. Although it did struggle over some grass areas where the grass was long, it handled speed bumps, concrete, wood and managed to handle bark - the type you get in the park well.

We found that the iCandy has some amazing features that really make it a massive hit in our household. We love the fact that the iCandy has a secret compartment which can hold keys, my phone and other items that need to be secured safely. The basket is designed well, it is large in size and can hold my handbag, Maxwell's bag along with a bag of shopping. I also adore the fact that the handle can be adjusted to suit your height, as I am very short this is a massive blessing in disguise.I was able to walk with ease when handling the pushchair.

We felt Maxwell had a comfy journey in the iCandy, the seat was big enough for him to sit in - despite him being a 3 year old and we found that the straps adjusted well to suit his size. The iCandy has a small footprint which is fantastic as it meant Maxwell and the pushchair could fit through small doors. With a older pushchair we found that Maxwell would have to often get out to fit through some doorways which can often be a pain.

Since having the pushchair we have taken it on day trips to the Isle Of Wight. We found that the pushchair was great to use on the ferry due to it being lightweight and easy to get through the aisle that people we sitting in. We have also taken the pushchair on bus journeys. Having hated taking my old pushchair on bus journeys, the iCandy is a dream to use on the bus. It fits well into pushchair spaces and if needs be it is easy to fold. It is compact enough to fit in storage areas or by your feet if there is enough space.

If you are looking for a pushchair which handles the city well but also can handle the country well, this pushchair is for you!

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this post
However I did receive the product for the purpose of this review. This post is written in my own words.

A Drive Through The New Forest - #31daysoffun

Ben, Maxwell and I are extremely lucky to live where we do. I think we take where we live for granted however every so often I am reminded why we live in such a special place. When my friends visit and say "instead of waiting for people to cross the road, we have to wait for pony's to cross the road" or "instead of driving through cities you drive through green beautiful countryside" I know we are on to a winner. Truth be told we live in a beautiful place, we live in the New Forest and it is simply beautiful.

Some of the best things which we love to do in the New Forest is eat ice cream, go on car rides, look at the beautiful scenery and visit the beautiful coast. Some of the best things tourists love to do is visit Beaulieu Motor Museum, Peppa Pig World and amazing places like Bucklers Hard. People travel miles to visit however the New Forest is on our door step.

Every so often Ben and I love to get in the car and drive through the forest, Maxwell loves to sit in the back of the car and adores me winding down my window. He loves the wind in his hair and he loves looking at the beautiful sites all around us.

On Friday, day 7 of our 31 days of fun we decided to take a little tour round the New Forest. The weather was beautiful and the view was clear, we could see for miles. On our little trip we managed to find a heard of cows, see fish at hatchets pond and we also managed to see some of Maxwell's favorite animals on the road - New Forest Pony's! It is an amazing experience to get so close to the pony's, they are beautiful creatures and really make our drives memorable.

On our drive we stopped at Calshot beach, from Calshot beach you are able to look across the Solent and see the Isle Of Wight. On Friday the Solent was alive with yachts due to the fact that it was Cowes Week. Sailing has always been a big part of my life so it was lovely to watch the boats sail on by.

On our way back home we stopped off for a Ice Cream at Carlos, Carlo's is a ice cream parlor which has been around for years. It is a family run establishment and all ice cream is made by the people that work there. It is a great little place to visit and somewhere which we love to go. The ice cream tastes beautiful and they have lovely little tea rooms also where you can grab a bite to eat. All prices are reasonable and it is perfect for families.

A Trip Aboard A Steam Train - #31daysoffun

Day 6 of Maxwell's 31 days of fun consisted of Maxwell going to Eastleigh Railway in Southampton. Maxwell got to ride a steam train on his visit and he also got to see ducks, go through a scary dark tunnel and play in a fabulous play park. We went with A.Rachel and Maxwell had a fantastic day of fun.

Upon arrival of Eastleigh Railway, there was plenty of parking. The parking was free and the parking was situated next to the entrance. At the front of the entrance there were toilets. Once we had walked into the entrance we were greeted by an amazing ticket office. it was the old fashioned sort and the ticket office gave old fashioned train tickets. Entry was priced fairly and it cost us just £8.50 to get in. We paid for 2 adult tickets and 1 child tickets and the tickets were return tickets for the steam train.

The steam train left the station every 20 mins, unfortunately we had managed to just miss the steam train when we had arrived however there was lots for Maxwell to see and do whilst we waited. Thomas The Tank engine played in the back ground on a large TV screen, there were plenty of trains which were out of action which Maxwell was able to look at and there was a map to show Maxwell where the steam train was situated. The map was fantastic and allowed us to tell Maxwell were the train was and how long it would be before it got to us.

After a short wait the steam train arrived back at the station and picked us up. At first Maxwell was a little scared but as soon as the steam train started to move, Maxwell soon brightened up and was full of smiles. After a 10 min journey the train dropped us off and we arrived at the lake, picnic area and play park. We visited the play park straight away.

The play park was easy to access and was a clean, friendly park. There was a lot of things for children to do and the park was suitable for all ages. Maxwell adored sliding on the slide, playing on the see-saw and he adored pretending he was driving his own train. We spent a while in the park and decided to head to the lake.

The lake was a short walk away form the park. Once at the lake we had a little walk around and managed to see lots of wildlife. Maxwell's favorite part of the day was seeing the ducks. The ducks came up to Maxwell and decided to sit in front of him for a while. There were also swans at the lake and we managed to spot a lot of fish.

After the lake we decided to head back, we waited patiently for the train and jumped on it when it arrived. The journey back was pleasant however we did travel back through a long tunnel which Maxwell was not keen on. The return journey back lasted around 10 mins and once back at the station we could choose if we wanted to go to the gift shop or the cafe.

Overall we had a fantastic day out and we are planning a trip back to Eastleigh Steam Railway again. We are especially excited to see that they do Thomas The Tank Engine days out and a special Santa Day Out nearer Christmas.

We were not asked to write this post or compensated in any way.
We paid for this visit ourselves and wanted to share our visit with our readers.
