Win A Jurassic World Dinosaur Every 15 Minutes

How would you like to win a Jurassic World Dinosaur in time for Christmas?
Thanks to Chicago Town Pizza, you are now able to!

Recently whilst shopping, my eyes were drawn to a box in the frozen food department. I knew straight away the box had something on it which Maxwell would simply adore. The box explained that Chicago Town Pizzas were giving away a Hasbro Jurassic World Dinosaur and there were thousands of toys up for grabs. Knowing that Maxwell adores dinosaurs,  I knew straight away that I wanted to get involved with the promotion and win Maxwell a dinosaur so I decided to purchase a box of pizza.

Due to the dinosaurs being given away every 15 minutes, I felt there was a high chance of being in running to win a dinosaur. I knew the dinosaurs which were being given away would be a popular stocking filler so I went ahead and submitted my code in the hope that we would be lucky winners. Unfortunately we were not lucky winners however after buying several of other boxes of pizza we were thrilled when we managed to get our hands on a Tyrannosaurus Rex a few week's later.

Would your child like a Jurassic World Dinosaur? To be in with the chance of winning a Hasbro Jurassic World dinosaur, follow these simple steps:
  • Purchase a special edition ‘WIN A DINO’ pack of Chicago Town pizza, retain the till receipt (as it may be required to claim your prize) and locate the Unique Reference Number on the inside of your promotional pack.
  • Check out which dinosaur is up for grabs in the current 15 minute draw (there are 6 different dinosaurs in total)- remember you can wait for the next draw if you want to. When you see the dinosaur you want to try and win, enter your Unique Reference Number and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Wait for a winning email. Winners will be notified within 72 hours via email.

Zazzle Halloween Review

Recently we were contacted by the lovely people over at Zazzle and asked to pick some items off their website to review. With Halloween just around the corner, I decided to pick some Halloween personalised products for Maxwell to wear and enjoy. I wanted to focus on day to day products that he could wear after Halloween instead of focusing on costumes and table wear for a Halloween party.

Zazzle offer a wide range of products which can be personalised to anyone's tastes, they offer a range of products suitable for all occasions. If I am honest, it took me a while to choose what  I wanted off the Zazzle website. Over at Zazzle they offer such a large range of products I was overwhelmed with the amount of things I wanted to buy. I had to spend time buying the perfect items for Max.

Once I had decided what items I wanted to purchase Maxwell, I went about customizing the products. I decided to get a large duffle bag for Maxwell to use for a Halloween sleepover, a tshirt which has the caption "boo" on it which also features a monster on the back of the tshirt which I think would be perfect for Maxwell to wear on the day of Halloween and I also opted for a nice warm black skull hoodie so Maxwell would stay warm this Halloween.

Zazzle Halloween Review

Duffle bag - This is the first item that I choose for Maxwell. Maxwell is always looking for a bag to use on sleepovers and this fitted his needs well. This bag can be personalised on the back and the front and also comes in an arrange of colours. Maxwell and I decided to pick a blue bag and we decided to customize the bag by adding a simple monster motif. When the bag arrived, I was thrilled with the quality of it. The bag is of a good size - 50 cm (width) x 23 cm (height). The bag is strong,  well made and the motif which we had personalised onto the bag stands out well. The bag is machine washable and not only is it perfect for children like Maxwell who need a large bag to go to sleepovers with, it is also perfect for adults who use the gym,  perfect for the day to day commute to work or the perfect bag to use for holidays.

Zazzle Halloween Review

Boo tshirt - As soon as I saw this tshirt it stood out to me. I adored the way the tshirt looked on the front. The tshirt read the simple word "boo". I loved the funky style that the word was written in. I decided to pick this tshirt in white and went for black writing as out of all the colours that I tried, the black and white colours stood out the most. For this tshirt, I also opted to have a Pacman style character on the back. I thought this would make the tshirt look unique. When the tshirt arrived, Maxwell and I were both thrilled. The tshirt looked and felt fantastic. We washed the tshirt straight away and we found that the tshirt washed up nicely. Once Maxwell tried the tshirt on it was clear to see that the tshirt was a good fit for him and the tshirt stood out well. I can not wait to see Maxwell wear this tshirt on Halloween.

Zazzle Halloween Review

Skull hoodie - Normally Maxwell loves to wear zip up hoodies however I felt this hoodie would be better to buy him for Halloween. Maxwell can often get irritated with zips up on his other hoodies, so it made sense to get him something simple which he could remove with ease and on his own. This hoodie is barely personalised but I did choose the colours of this hoodie. I decided to go for a dark hoodie which had a white skull motif on it. I felt that these colours looked spooky, fun and fantastic for Halloween. When the hoodie arrived I was thrilled. The hoodie was of a good size and once washed and on Maxwell, I found that the hoodie allowed space underneath for a few extra layers of clothing. This is perfect due to Maxwell needing to wear a few extra layers on the upcoming cold Halloween night.

Overall I loved using Zazzle. I found that their products were good value for money. I loved the fact that the products could be personalised with ease and things such as colours and motifs could be changed easily. I was pleased with the fast delivery of these products, especially due to the fact that they were shipped from abroad. After washing and wear, I found that the products which we purchased washed up well, were fit for purpose and allowed Maxwell to look that little unique this Halloween. I 100% would use Zazzle services again.

*We received the above products for the purpose of this review.  All thoughts and opinions are of our own.

Try Me Free #Cash4Christmas

Do you ever go to the supermarket and notice "try me free" products?
Do you ever take advantage of these products and try them for free?

This year I have been scouring the supermarkets for "try me free products". I have managed to save around £50 doing the try me free hunts. Although this is not a huge amount of money, I have put very little effort into looking for try me free products, and although £50 does not seem a lot £50 is a whole week's food shopping for our household.

The way that try me free products work is that the products act as a Money Back Guarantee promotion, meaning you pay for the product but later receive the money back. You are normally sent a cheque or a postal order in the post for the value of the product which you tried for free. To redeem a "try me free promotion" you often need to send a little letter to the brand and let them know your thoughts on the product that you have tried . You then send this letter along with the receipt that includes the try me for free product on to a promotion address which is identified on the "try me free" product/sticker

Try me free products can often be found in supermarkets however they can sometimes be found in discount stores. I often find the try me free products easy to identify thanks to a bold sticker on the front of the product or a bright tag hung around the product's neck.

Try me free products of course include terms. It is essential that you buy the product and send off your claim before the closing date, some items can be pricey and it would be a shame not to receive your cashback due to missing the closing date. Terms also often include that one product can be purchased per household however if the terms do not state one per person why not use another family member's address to get the money back guarantee so you can take advantage of the promotion?

My favourite try me free product this year was Bernard Matthew Turkey pieces. Although they are not something I enjoy, Ben loves them and we managed to get a few packs free with the "try me free" money back guarantee. The money that we earned included the price of the product, the stamp price and came as a form of cheque which was easy for me to cash in at the bank.

Although picking up "try me free products" is not a fast money maker, it is a money maker that can save you money and it is something which can still be done ahead of Christmas. Below are a few of my favourite "try me free products" which you may still be able to get your hands on:

The Big Bedroom Makeover

Recently we were contacted by the lovely people over at Hillary's and asked if we would like to get involved with their big bedroom makeover campaign. Having recently spent a lot of time getting Maxwell's room up to a good standard, I felt it was time for Ben and I to get our room up to a better standard. I sent snaps over to Hillary's of our bedroom and after a short period of time, we were sent some tips by interior stylist Joanna Thornhill on how to improve our room.

I had a budget of £100 to transform our room and I really wanted to make our room look different to the boring bland room that it had been for around 2 years. Thanks to Joanna's tips I was able to complete our room makeover in less than a month which I was thrilled about. With Christmas around the corner I wanted our room to look special, homely and warm and I feel that is what I have created with our room.

Joanna Thornhill's Recommendations:

1. The built-in cupboards in the wall opposite your bedhead are quite dominating, I'd try and blend these into the room a little more - Thank's to Joanna's recommendation, I decided to paint these cupboard doors and tried to make them blend into our room a little more. I also decided to remove the horrid old gold door knobs and opted for some light crystal ones which I knew would fit into our room well.

2. Your furniture looks smart and your look seems well put together, but breaking away slightly from your earthy colour palette would add a little more interest and make the space feel more homely - Following Joanna's advice I added more colour into the room. I decided to go with the colour green and opted for a new bedspread which included a new runner and bed cushion. I opted for a new vase and housed some coloured flowers inside and I also decided to purchase myself a white birdcage that will house a candle, the candle is of course green in colour.

3. Adding a few more artworks to your bedhead wall would create a more cosy feel, too - stick to uneven numbers and group them relatively closely, to stop them feeling disparate - Following Joanna's advice not only did I go out and purchase some new artwork, I also bought a headboard for our bed. I wanted the bed to look a little better against the wall so I also opted into buying myself some flower lights to twist around the head board.

Over 20 bloggers completed Hillary's big room makeover's, you are able to view all our room transformations here. I really enjoyed taking part in this challenge and I am thrilled with the results. I can not believe that I manged to stick to the £100 budget that I had and I can not believe how bright and airy my room now looks. I think every blogger's room looks fantastic after seeing the amazing montage that Hillary's have created and it is clear to see everyone has followed Joanna's tips.

Have you been meaning to do a room makeover but have not got round to it? Why not pop over to Hillary's website and create some room makeover ideas?

Aperol Spritz: A taste of Italy

Over Summer I have been drinking a little something that has been very refreshing, this Halloween I think it would be the perfect drink to celebrate the spooky season. With it's orange colour, this special drink is something which would stand out on the table at any adult's Halloween party.

Aperol Spritz

Aperol the award-winning Italian aperitif was first created back in 1919 in Padua, it has now gone on to be a popular drink loved by many. A mix of bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb and cinchona, you can enjoy it as a fruity and refreshing cocktail. You are able to create Aperol drink with ease, why not make a large bucket of the fruity drink to celebrate Halloween?

To create this delicious drink you will need:

Wine Glasses
 Aperol
Prosecco
Soda water
1 orange
Ice

First get your wine glass and pop in a few cubes of ice and chunks of cut up orange.
Get you glass and pour in around three parts of Prosecco
Follow this by adding two parts of Aperol
Top up the glass with one part of soda water

Aperol Spritz

To make a large batch of this drink, you will need to work out the size of the container you are using and measure it against a wine glass. To create that spooky feeling why not add in an ice hand or iced fingers to the large container?

Overall I am a massive fan of this drink. I am not a large drinker and this drink allows me to get away with not sipping on to much alcohol. I love the taste of this drink, it is something which I do not normally drink however it has amazed me to see how much I like it. I love the fruity twist of orange in this drink and I am looking forward to trying other combinations of this drink in the future.

Need a little help? Click here for more Aperol cocktails and click here to watch the official Aperol Spritz ‘perfect serve’ video which shows you how to make a fantastic cocktail too.

5 For Under £5

This week's 5 for under £5 s focused on fancy dress costumes for Halloween. The costumes which I have picked are perfect for boys but also great for girls to wear and are a little different than your average "Halloween" scary costume.

I thought this would make a nice Halloween outfit. In the past I have seen other children dress up as ghost captains and I though this outfit would make a great outfit idea this Halloween. You could add some bloody stains to the costume and create a spooky effect by adding some face paint's and coloured hairspray to your child's hair.

Although I am aware of this costume being a Skylander costume, I also thought it would be fun for Halloween. As a parent who does not know much about Skylander's I thought this would be a fun idea to wear this Halloween. This costume reminds me of a spooky funny monster.
When wearing this costume, everyone would be able to identify your character. As a child, I used to dress up in a white sheet to go as a ghost to Halloween parties however these days it is just as cheap to buy a shop/internet bought costume. I think this costume is fab and will create a few scares this Halloween.
This is a super Halloween costume at a reasonable price. The costume itself is pretty spooky but you could easily add face paint to get the best desired effect for your Halloween event. This costume would be great to wear out as there is room to add extra layers under the costume/skirt part.

Last year Maxwell dressed up as a pirate. I bought him a regular pirate costume and added a lot of face paint on to his face to get the best effect. I loved Maxwell's pirate costume last year and this year I will again think outside the box to create him a fun costume.

Ben & Holly Elf and Fairy Party #ElfAndFairyParty

Every now and again Maxwell and I get sent lovely emails. Recently we were asked if we would like to be ambassadors for a lovely set of people. You may have noticed the shiny new badge that's made it's way onto my blog, if you look down the page you will be able to see that I am lucky enough to be one of Ben and Holly's official bloggers.

Ben & Holly

Recently Ben & Holly got in touch with us to let us know they would love for us to hold a Ben & Holly Party. The party that we will be holding will be held later on in the year. We have lots of plans for our party however we are also lucky enough to be able to access lots of fun downloads to make our party super fun and more organised. Each week Maxwell and I will be creating something and planning on how to make our party fun for all.

This week Maxwell and I will be focusing on invites. Before Maxwell and I decide to write our invites, we will need to plan. We need to plan our venue, the start time and end time of our party. Maxwell and I have decided that we will host our party at home and we have decided that the party will last 1 hour 30 mins. This will give us enough time to eat, play games and have a little dance.

As the party is only a few week's away, we have decided that we need to get our invites out ASAP in order for people to know that we are having a party. Luckily for us, there is a fantastic download on Ben & Holly's website so we send out our invites tomorrow. You are able to see our invites below.

Ben & Holly

Our invites are complete, we can not wait to send them out and see who will be coming to our party. Are you having a Ben and Holly Elf and Fairy Party? Why not share your parties with Ben and Holly via twitter tweeting @thebenandholly making sure to use the hashtag #ElfAndFairyParty.

Pink Clove Autumn Outfit Review

Autumn has arrived!
Recently we were sent a few items from Pink Clove to review. The items which we were sent are perfect for any Mum looking to be comfy on the school run, looking to get dressed up to go out, wanting to wear a comfy but smart outfit to work or wanting to go on a date night to the cinema.

Pink Clove Plus Black Full Length Leggings
I am a massive fan of legging's. I find that leggings can be worn on all occasions and can either be dressed down or dressed up. Legging's are a comfy item of clothing that can be worn on all occasions and I especially adore wearing them in the Autumn. On soggy, wet preschool runs I find that legging's can be much better to wear than heavy jeans that absorb water well. Legging's are also great to wear on a evening out under a dress. Wearing legging's makes me feel a little less self conscience about my legs. In the colder weather on a night out, legging's are also a great item of clothing to wear.
Pink  Clove legging's are fantastic. They are generously sized, wash well and do not bubble unlike other branded legging's and they are a great length. They do not sag after a lot of wear and since being sent a pair of Pink Clove legging's to review, I have gone on to buy a few pair's to add to my wardrobe. I find that these legging's can be teamed well with either flat shoes or comfy boot's and a arrange of colourful tops's, jumpers or dresses.

Pink Clove
Pink Clove Fern Colour Pop Kimono Blazer in Black
In the autumn I love wearing a little top over a tshirt. I dislike my arms and love to hide them under a nice top and find a kimono top often does this job well. Often I find that a kimono can be quite thin and sometimes they can be see through however the adorable Kimono blazer which I was sent from Pink Clover is of brilliant quality. It is made well and the material is quite thick. The kimono has dropped sleeves but also features a dropped sleeve fit which makes it incredibly comfy to wear. The kimono blazer is the type of item of clothing that can either be dressed up with a nice top and comfy leggings and some pretty jewelry or can be dressed down and be worn with a every day outfit. I also felt that the kimono blazer would be a nice item of clothing  to wear to work.
-------------------------------------------------------

I felt that Pink Clove clothing was reasonably priced. The legging's which I received were priced at £10 which is around the same price as what other leading brands charge for a decent pair of high quality leggings. What I really liked about the legging's what the fact that they were thick. There was no chance of anyone seeing my bottom through the legging's and they made me feel confident when wearing them. The kimono blazer is priced at £14 which again I think is reasonable if not a little bit cheap for what you are getting. The kimono blazer is hard wearing and I love the fact that you are able to get the blazer in different colours.

Pink Clove is now giving the opportunity for one luck reader of Mummy To The Max to win a Pink Clove Plus Demi Grey Swing Vest in size 18. This top is a great addition to any wardrobe. It is a perfect addition for under those warm cuddly jumpers now we are in autumn. All you have to do to win this competition is enter the simple rafflecopter below. Good Luck.

Does It Pay To Complain? #Cash4Christmas

Do you ever receive customer service that you feel is not good enough?
Have you been disappointed with any products recently? Did you complain?

#Cash4Christmas

Welcome to my 2nd post of my #Cash4Christmas series. This week I thought I would write a post explaining how it often pays to complain. I am not the type of person who make's up complaint's for no reason, I often write complaint's to companies when I feel problems need addressing. Recently I have put a few complaints in and the customer service I have received back has been of a high standard. I thought I would write this post as around this time of the year, we buy a lot and often the service some receive is of a bad standard. Although this is not a fast money making Christmas method that will make you thousands, complaining through the year and addressing problems can help you get little gifts throughout the year and more importantly allow companies to improve on what you feel is lacking with the service that they are providing.

-------------------------------------------------------

Pizza Express

Around 2 month's ago, Ben and I went out on a date night. We rarely go the chance to go out together so we thought long and hard about where we wanted to go. After a lot of deciding, checking menus, prices and offers, we decided that we would hit Pizza Express as it is a short car journey away from us and we felt like we could do with a change. We often favor American food places and Chinese places so an Italian seemed a good choice.

Ben and I ate at Pizza Express and the service which we received was poor. The floor was unpleasant, the waiting time was high, the glass that I was drinking out of had a chip in it and below is an example of the food that we were served. Me and Ben felt that the service we had received needed addressing.

#Cash4Christmas

When I got home, I wrote Pizza Express a quick social media message. I kept it upbeat and I showed them the above example of what we were served and highlighted the other problems we had. They were quick at addressing the problem, pleasant and helpful and in the end they emailed me a lovely email and provided me with a gift card to say sorry for the service that we received. The way that Pizza Express dealt with the issue made me want to return to them as a customer.

-------------------------------------------------------

Gregg's

A few weeks ago, we visited our local Gregg's bakery. We visited there for our own convenience. We purchased a simple pack of rolls to enjoy with our dinner that night and we decided we would eat the rest of the rolls for lunch the next day. As a family of 3, this would allow us to have 1 roll each for both the occasions. Unfortunately upon arriving home, we found that the pack of 6 rolls only had 5 roll's in. It is something that perhaps we should have noticed. Although this issue was not a mega problem and it meant I did not have a roll for lunch the following day, I felt the problem needed acknowledging.

I contacted Greggs on social media and let them know that I had been short changed of a roll. Once again I made sure the message was happy and upbeat, there was no reason for the person at the end of my message to get it in the ear. They replied in a matter of minutes and sent me a message to say sorry for the inconvenience that had been caused.  They also sent me a little voucher of goodwill which Maxwell is saving to buy gingerbread men at Christmas.

Although Gregg's did not have to go the extra mile, they did. Although we are not massive Gregg's fans, we do visit when we are in the right area to buy items such as roll's and bread and Maxwell adores a gingerbread man. Thank's to there fantastic customer service, we will continue to visit.

-------------------------------------------------------

Cloggs

Recently I was browsing online for some new Ugg's. I had no reason to buy a new pair, I have 5 pairs already however I am a sucker for them and I adore wearing them in the winter. I stumbled across the Clogg's website and loved what I saw. I found a pair of chestnut Ugg's in my size and was amazed that they were priced at just £85. These Ugg's normally are priced at £150 and after visiting the clearance outlets, watching sales online and browsing the web, I never normally manage to find Ugg's priced so cheaply.

#Cash4Christmas

As a treat, I felt it was right to buy myself a new pair of Ugg's. I knew they would be worn a lot and would be a great addition to my collection. I added the Ugg's to my shopping basket and proceeded to buy the shoe's however there was a problem, the price had changed for £85 to £107. I quickly took a screen shot of the shoes priced at £85 on my home screen and sent Clogg's a social media message to let them know of my disappointment. Within 30 mins of sending them the message, they had promised that they would allow me to have the shoes at the £85 price that I had found them for and they promised to give me a call so I was able to purchase the shoes.

Early the next morning, Clogg's rang me and allowed me to purchase the shoes over the phone at the bargain price I had seen them for. I was over the moon. I was told the delivery of the shoes would be in the next few working days however the next morning, my shoes arrived with another great treat. The shoes had a £10 off a £20 spend meaning that last week I was able to purchase  Maxwell a pair of Converse for just £11 including delivery.

Although Clogg's is a online retailer, it was fantastic to see that they went the extra mile. They were patient, tried to rectify a situation quickly and gave me a little bonus at the end of it. In the future, I will ensure that I check Clogg's website before checking over shoe stores websites.

My 5 top tips when it comes to complaining:

  1. If you can, collect evidence to back what you are saying. Photo, video or a witness statements can be useful. There is nothing worse than a company not believing you due to the lack of evidence that you have. I find that companies take me more seriously when I have evidence to go with what I am saying.
  2. Favor contacting companies via live chat or social media. These way's enable companies to see you quicker and often, complaints can be dealt with quicker. I rarely phone companies with complaints as this means I do not have anything in writing from the company  I am complain to.
  3. Stay calm, cool and collective. There is no point going in all gun's blazing at someone who has no previous knowledge of an issue you have en-counted. These people are simply paid to sit at the end of a phone or at the end of a social media account. You need to have a clear mind to be able to state facts and to be able to get your point of view across. How many complaint a day do these people receive? Why not cheer them up a little by sending them a funny rhyme, a funny story or even a funny picture on social media, email or via live chat?
  4. Document times, dates and names. These dates, names and times can be a blessing in disguise. If the problem that you are complaining about goes on for a lengthy amount of time you can state this and argue that the problem has not been sorted in a reasonable amount of time. By keeping logs you have clear evidence of how you have tried to sort the issue.
  5. If you have having serious issues with a company, contact their head office. There is a particular online retailer who's head office know me well. I find that the people at the bottom of their company do not sort or deal with complaints well however those at the top do and bare my complaints in mind. If you are not getting any where with those lower on the line, go to the top. You are bound to get better results.

Thrifty Three Favs

I can not believe it is October. I am so thrilled that it is October. September was a really busy month for us and I did not manage to do as much as I would have liked to however, it was still a successful month for us a family. We managed to save a lot of money and I managed to get a few wins. Below are my three favs for the month.

Favourite bargain: Last month I wrote that I was looking for bits to purchase as I had decided to redo Maxwell's room. I had a £100 budget overall and I wanted to change the look of it. I wanted to spend as little as possible and make it into a bright coloured themed room that I knew he would love. Last month I managed to secure a few bargains but my favourite bargain of the month was some bookends that now sit on Maxwell's window ledge. The bookends fit the colour of Maxwell's room perfectly and they were reduced to an amazing £2 from £15. I had ordered Maxwell a new book sling for £25 however this was not needed due to my amazing book end bargain. Due to my bargain buying, Maxwell's finished room has come under budget meaning I can put the spare money towards his party in December.

Favourite freebie: Last month I was lucky enough to work very hard on certain things and something which paid out well for me was Topcashback. Last month I made a whopping £60 in Topcashback. To me this is free money, money that I never had before and I achieved these earnings by simply doing free offers, ensuring I got cashback on items which I purchased on the web and in stores and also made sure I signed up to deals which ensured I got more money back than the purchase I made. You are able to view my "how to make £40" cashback post here if you are interested in making some cash yourself this Autumn. Look out for some future cashback posts.

Favourite Gift: Last month I did not have a lot of time to enter a lot of competitions, I simply had a busy month. I did manage to win some nice prizes that were not high value wins that will really benefit Maxwell and it is items that he loves which made me happy. I was lucky enough to win a bundle of Ladybird books which came a few days ago and have gone down a treat in our household. Maxwell and I love reading and it is always nice to read him something new at bedtime. I am hoping for a great winning month this month.
