Things to do in Bournemouth #HiddenGems

As many of my readers know, we live in the New Forest. We live in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK and we are lucky to have some lovely locations to visit on our door step. One of our favourite places to visit is Bournemouth. Bournemouth is not only a great tourist attraction, it has plenty to see and do. It is great for all ages and is perfect for families, couples and singles. There are plenty of tourist boards, plenty of places to eat and shop and some brilliant locations to visit. If you are thinking of visiting you are even able to book a hotel on the sea front with sea views!

If you are thinking of going to Bournemouth do not miss visiting:

The Oceanarium: We visited here on Maxwell's Birthday and we had a wonderful experience. There is plenty of parking near by and the Oceanarium can be found on the waterfront. The Oceanarium has plenty to see and do. It is full of all different types of marine and most recently they have added penguins and jellyfish. Inside the Oceanarium you will find a lovely gift shop as well as a cafe which serve delicious food. If you are wanting to visit, you are now able to swap Tesco clubcard vouchers which means the ticket price is great value for money. We spent the whole day here when we visited and were impressed with the talks as well as the feeds.

The Bournemouth Air Show: Every year we attend the Bournemouth Air Show. Although there is a small charge for parking if you choose to park in the park and ride or in a car park, the show itself is free to attend. There is plenty to see and do, you can stroll along the beach front and feel the sand between your toes or you can decide to watch the air displays in the air which feature amazing planes such as the red arrows, the typhoon and chinook helicopters. This is a great family day out and Maxwell has attended the show with us since he was a baby. There is plenty of places to visit along the sea front for a quick bite to eat but you are also able to bring your own picnic!

Canford Cliffs: This is a lovely place just a short drive away from Bournmouth beach sea front. Canford Cliffs is easy to get to and has a small little car park which is fairly cheap to park in. Past the car park you are able to find Pinecliff play sculpture trail which is amazing for children to visit. You are able to find large wooden sculptures that are fun to play on. You are also able to find a play park which is based around a shipwreck. Once you have finished playing you are able to go on a lovely walk down to the beach below which is the beach of Branksome Chine.

Bournemouth beach and pier: Bournemouth beach is a beautiful beach which hosts stunning views of the Isle of Wight and the Purbecks. The beach is made up of golden sand meaning it is perfect to take a lovely stroll on. There are plenty of restaurants and cafe's as well gardens for all to enjoy along the sea front. Bournemouth Pier offers a variety of attractions for the whole family. The attractions are fun and entertaining. Whilst you are here, why not seek fun and visit the Zip wire which see you make your way from the pier to the beach.

Maxwell's Birthday Wishlist

Recently I have been searching the internet, I have been looking for toys that would be suitable for Maxwell's Birthday. Maxwell will be 4 years old this year and has a massive collection of toys. I have been looking for bits that would be a little different to gift him this year and have compiled this toy wishlist.

Maxwell's Birthday Wishlist

Playmobil 5973 Carrying Case Firemen
Maxwell is a massive Playmobil fan. He has an arrange of toys from the Playmobil collection however he is yet to have this fireman case set. We find these carry sets to be wonderful to use on days out. The case is tiny to carry and is packed full of fun.

Sooty & Sweep Soft Puppet Set
Maxwell adores Sooty & Sweep. He has watched many of there recent TV series and would adore this puppet set. I remember these characters from my childhood so they would be a welcome addition to our home. They would be great to use at story time.

Hamleys Hamleys Pam Penguin
Maxwell has an obsession with penguins and I thought this would be a great addition to his bedroom and his soft toy collection. This penguin toy is the perfect size to take places as well as the perfect size to carry around and play with around the home.

Hama 10,000 Beads Tub
As a child I adored Hama beads, I found them to be a fun wet weather day activity and I felt they allowed me to be creative. Maxwell is now at the age where I think he would enjoy using these. These Hama beads would be perfect to create personalised Christmas decorations with.

Orchard Tummy Ache
We are massive fans of Orchard Toy games. We have used many of their games in the past to improve Maxwell's speech. This is one of the games we do not have and we would love to add to Maxwell's collection.

Back To School With Bic & A Competition

With the new term around the corner, we were recently sent some BIC goodies to review. As a child, I always remember having new stationery at the start of the term and I always remembered how much I loved having new stationery. Maxwell is due to attend school next September however this year he is starting a new preschool although he does not require stationery to start the new year with, we use a lot of stationery at home and Maxwell was thrilled to get his hands on some BIC kids products.

BIC - Back To School

As we have had many wet days over the half term, Maxwell has spent a reasonable amount of time trying out his new BIC goodies and we have nothing but positive words to report back about the BIC products we were sent to review.

Magic Felt Pens - This pack of pens comes with 10 colouring felt pens and 2 magic erasers. Maxwell adored using these as he could create fun pictures that stood out. He simply drew shapes and pictures with the magic erasers and then coloured over the picture scene with the felt pens. The shapes which he drew with the magic eraser stayed white and the area which he coloured was coloured vibrant, bright colours.  These are designed for children aged 3+.

Turn And Colour Wax Crayons - I simply adore these pens. They are fantastic for children, last a long time and are very easy to use. When you want to use one of these crayons, all you simply need to do is twist the button at the end of the crayon and slowly the crayon will appear. The fantastic thing about these crayons is they do not need to be sharpened. They are perfect for small hands. These are designed for children aged 3+. You get 12 in a pack.

Triangle colouring pencils - The pencils are like regular pencils however they are shaped triangularly. The shape of these pencils teaches children the correct way to hold a pencil which prepares children for school. The pencils are jumbo sized and come in a great arrange of bright colours. The are perfect for tiny hands to grip. These are perfect for children aged 2 years +.  You get 12 in a pack.

Triangle Crayons - Maxwell adores using crayons and these are simply fantastic. The crayons are shaped triangularly. The crayons are large in size. The crayons are designed not to make a mess and do not get over hands and clothing. These are perfect for children to use at the age of 1+. You get 12 in a packet.

BIC - Back To SchoolBIC - Back To School

Bic have sent us 4 products to give away to 1 lucky reader. 1 lucky reader of Mummy To The Max will be in with the chance of winning: 1 pack of Mechanical grip pencils, 1 pack of Crystal Stylus pens designed for tablets/smartphones, 1 pack of tropicolours colouring pencils and a retractable mechanical pencil.

To enter this competition all you simply need to do is enter the rafflecopter below.

Good Luck!

Maxwell's Dream Lego House

Over the past few month's Maxwell has started to get into the Lego craze, something that I was excited about. Recently I made Maxwell a Lego table and along with the Lego table,  I also gave Maxwell some of my own Lego from when I was a child. Since Maxwell received his Lego bit's off me, he has spent a lot of hours building me things.Maxwell has a great imagination and his Lego models have shown this.

This summer Maxwell was challenged to build his dream home out of Lego in exchange for a box of Lego. As soon as Maxwell received his box of Lego he set about trying to create his dream home. I knew Maxwell's dream home would be different and it would be unique, however I was not ready for the fun ideas Maxwell included in his dream home.

Over the last few weeks Maxwell has been telling me what he would like to include in his Lego dream house and has also built some random and wacky things. Although Maxwell has speech delay it has been easy to understand what Maxwell really wanted from his dream house thank's to pictures and books. After several weeks, Maxwell has created something which he can be proud of. The house is packed with some fun features which everyone needs in there own home.

Here is Maxwell's dream home:

Maxwell's dream home is like a regular home however it has a large dog flap. This is for his Lego dog which he has named "Purple". Purple has a small dog house outside Maxwell's dream home and has a yellow bed inside Maxwell's home to sleep. Maxwell placed the dog bed near the window so Purple was able to get in and out with ease.

Maxwell has a bed in his home as well as a seating area for his visitors to sit on. Maxwell's lego bed matches purples bed! The table includes simple things such as a cup and has 3 seating places around it. The door is see through which means Maxwell can gaze out the window when he is in bed and look at the stars.

Maxwell has added a few fun features to his dream home.  He has included a plane runway so his plane can fly off into the air at any given time. He has included lights on his runway so at night you can see his runway. Maxwell has also included a caravan outside his dream home incase he has any visitors to stay. He hopes that his family can stay often.

Maxwell has also added a park in the garden which includes a roundabout and some monster rides which run after him which make him giggle and squeal. He also included a little forest as he lives in the New Forest and goes on lots of walk's. He thought it would be a great idea to take purple for a walk there.

I adore Maxwell's dream home and it is fantastic to see how hard he has worked on his project. My favourite feature from Maxwell's dream home is the dog house. I think Maxwell should win as he has put a lot of thought into his project. He has included his favourite things into the design such as planes, the forest and caravan holidays. He has also included a park.

Have you enjoyed viewing Maxwell's dream home? What is your favourite feature from it?

*Maxwell was gifted a box of Lego to help him to build his dream house. All thoughts and opinions are his own

A Family Meal At Harvester – A Review

As a family, we love each others company. We love making memories, capturing moments and spending time together. Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to Harvester - Windhover Manor in Southampton for a family meal. We were invited as part of their new initiative to get families around the table at meal times and spend more time together.

On a busy Saturday in the half term holidays, we adventured to Harvester. We had a table booked for 4.30 and we were very excited to see what Harvester had in store for us. I was wary of how busy it may be due to it being the school holidays but I needn't have worried as we had a wonderful experience.

Harvester - Windhover Manor is around a 20 minute drive from us in the New Forest. It is in a fantastic location, just off the motorway. The venue was easy to find and when we arrived, we found there was plenty of parking in the car park. The premises looked warm, friendly and clean and after venturing inside, we found that the inside was just as nice as the outside.

We arrived early however this was not a problem. We were happy to wait for our table sitting however after a short wait, we were taken to our table and we were seated. We were seated next to a window where we were able to see the cars come in and out of the venue - much to Maxwell's entertainment. We were given our menus and Maxwell was given his menu and crayons and we were left to sit and ponder over the menu.

The menu was packed with different meal ideas, I felt like the Harvester menu had something for everyone. From light bite meals to large main meals, from sides to sauces you were able to take your pick. After a short while and a lot of deciding, we placed our food and drink order and we proceeded to the unlimited salad bar.

The unlimited salad bar was well stocked, there was lots of different salad options for everyone. I noted that there were plenty of bowls for customers coming up to get their salad and the salad looked fresh and it did not look dry. There were fresh rolls located near the sauces for the salad and the sauces were well stocked. There was a little mess around the sauces which I noted but this did not make a difference to our experience.

Once we had all eaten our salad, our table was cleared and our main meals came out. We were in for a real treat. The portion sizes were large, the food was hot, fresh and well presented and the customer service was brilliant. Andrew who served us made sure we had all the sauces we needed to go with our meals and he ensured that the food was up to the standard we wanted it to be.

Maxwell decided to have chicken bites with peas and chips. He also opted to have a little roll from the salad bar with it. I decided to have the chicken skewers, Grandad decided to have the triple chicken and Ben decided to opt for an original combo. All the meals had a side as well as a sauce.

We all tucked into our meals and not one of us had a complaint. Although I found my own meal to be quite large and I found it difficult to finish, the boys all ate their dinners and complimented their meals. The meals were filling and I found that Harvester were very generous with the meat that they put on out plates.

Once we had finished, our table was cleared and we were offered desserts however we opted out of desserts however I did take a sneak peak at the dessert menu and I was impressed with what I saw. There were cake desserts, ice cream desserts and desserts that would tickle any child's taste bud.

Our meal cost the same as a average family meal which I thought was fantastic due to the service and the food which we received. With my meal and unlimited refill drink costing around £10, Harvester offers a large menu that would suit many people's budget.

Overall we had a fantastic time at Harvester. It is a great venue to take the family as Harvester caters for all ages. Their menu has something for everyone and the service was speedy, friendly and fantastic. We are looking forward to returning as a family in the future and would love to thank Harvester for the brilliant meal we had at Windhover Manor.

*We were given a complementary meal at Harvester for the purpose of this review. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

How To Save Money And Be More Eco-friendly

How To Save Money And Be More Eco-friendly

I often write about money saving ideas. I love sharing them with my readers and in turn I enjoy adding my own money saving ideas to the lifestyle that I lead. If I am able to save money in any way, I will. I have been known to do the most silliest thing's for the sake of saving a few pounds however saving a few pounds makes me happy and the money which I have saved can be spent on something else that is more worthwhile to us as a family.

Recently Legal & General wrote an article that provided tips on how to save money on water, electricity and heat bills and in turn be more eco-friendly. Due to this post, it got me thinking how we already save money around the home and it got me thinking about new ideas that we could try and do as a household to save more money around the home.

------------------------------------------------------

3 things that we currently do to save money:

1. Earlier this year we received a new washing machine. The new washing machine was a blessing in disguise. Not only was it a newer model that was quiet when running but it also included many fantastic features which in turn have saved us money.  The new washing machine fits more clothing inside it, due to this I am doing less loads of washing a week and in turn this saves me money on water and electricity.  The washing machine also has other fantastic features such as an eco wash, again this is a fantastic feature to have which saves me money.

2. For years I had a tumble dryer. I took the tumble dryer for granted and instead of putting a load of washing in the dryer at a time, I used to put one item in the dryer at a time. Over a period of time, It was easy to see how much money I was wasting whilst using the tumble dryer so I decided to look out for a different way of drying my clothes. In the summer I found that it was easy to get my clothing dry. I would put a clothes airier outside in my garden and I would use a washing line to dry the clothes. This method cost me nothing however in the winter my clothes would often not dry so I decided to invest in a Dry Buddy. I have had a Dry Buddy for 2 years now and after looking back at my electricity usage, it is easy to see that the Dry Buddy uses a lot less electricity than a tumble dryer. Not only does the Dry Buddy dry my clothes, it also warms up a room on a cold day.

3. One of my biggest bills over the past few years has been for my gas, the usage often happens in the winter when we are trying to stay warm. Last year I decided to add radiator reflectors to my radiators. At first I was very sceptical about how they worked however after spending just a few pounds on the reflectors and installing them myself, it is easy to see how much of a difference they make to my home. By adding the reflectors to all my radiators in my house, the heat which comes out of the radiators does not absorb walls however it bounces back into my home meaning over time I use less gas due to not having to heat my home so much as the heat which could have been lost is staying in my home.
------------------------------------------------------

2 new things that we would like to try and do to save money:

1. Recently our water bill has gone up. I believe it has gone up due to the fact we have been watering our plants a lot in the summer. The sun has been out, the weather has been hot and my plants have been dying. I have watered my plants most nights and I dread to think how much water I have managed to waste. To improve our water bill, I would love to install a water system in our garden so we are able to save our own water which is free when it falls from the sky. If we managed to collect our own rainwater, we would waste less money as we would not be using a large amount of tap water.

2. Although we are very money savvy, we do not produce anything ourselves in our home that would save us money. In the future I would love to install solar panels in our home so we are able to make our own energy, whilst we make our own energy I would also love to make energy for others. If we were able to make our own energy we would loose a large bill monthly. There are plenty of ways of getting solar panels for free and this is something which I would love to look into in the future.

5 Top Tips To Decluttering

 5 top tips to decluttering

Over the past few weeks, I have spent my evenings decluttering my home. It has been a boring time however after 2 weeks I am seeing the rewards. In 2 weeks I  have made myself £140 which does not seem a lot to some, but its a lot of money to me for stuff which had been sat around my house and had been forgotten about. I also have a clean, cluttered free home. Here are my 5 top tips to decluttering:
-------------------------------------------------------

1 - Start at the bottom, work to the top - This is one of my favourite tips. When I first started decluttering I took a box into each room and sorted the rooms out, one by one. If I had moved on to other rooms before I had finished the first room, decluttering would have taken me ages. With clutter in a box, I found it easy to take a full box into our conservatory and photo the contents. I was then able to put the contents back into the box and wait for the buyer to collect.

-------------------------------------------------------

2 -  Be ruthless - If a item is broken, hasn't been used for 6 months or it will not be missed, bin it, recycle it or sell it. Maxwell had a load of old baby toy's that he no longer used, parting with them managed to free up a lot of space in my conservatory and getting rid of them meant Maxwell had money for a new toy. Although he was upset to see them go at first, he soon came round to the idea that the toys were not needed due to the fact he no longer played with them.

-------------------------------------------------------

3 - Make sure everything has a place - After I have declutted I often find myself asking where I have put certain things. If everything has a home this will not happen. I often ensure there is enough storage areas for items around my home and I ensure if items are not in use, they are grouped together so they are easy to find. Large storage boxes are my best friend as  I find these the best way to keep things such as toys, clothes and paperwork tidy and together.

-------------------------------------------------------

4 - Focus on the finish - Decluttering can be a endless task but it is a task which is important to do. I often get bored halfway through and end up wanting to stop for a few days however the fact is, if I stopped I would more than likely not start again and over time the clutter would just get worse and worse. If you are bored, focus on other rooms around the house to declutter or focus on how you plan to get rid of the clutter you have already accumulated.

-------------------------------------------------------

5 - Keep in mind what you are going to do with the clutter - Not all things are great to sell so sometimes I send my items of clutter to the charity shop or to the dump. This said I normally have a lot of items which I want to sell. These items often end up on Gumtree, Facebay or Ebay depending on their value. My favourite selling place is Facebay as buyers often pick up in a good time frame and you do not pay for postage or any fees.

-------------------------------------------------------

5 for under £5

Maxwell is a massive Playmobil fan. With the lead up to Christmas I have recently been looking for Playmobil bargains. I always love finding Playmobil for under £5, this weeks 5 for under £5 is Playmobil focused. The bargains I have found are great for all ages and suitable for boys and girls. Enjoy!

This set is great for boys and girls! I have bought Maxwell a few of the horse sets with stalls so far and for £5 they are great value for money. There are many horse stall sets that Playmobil have to offer, this is a great addition to any Playmobil lovers collection.

Playmobil 1.2.3 is the Playmobil for younger children - toddlers. There are quite a few 1.2.3 sets however this is a really nice one to add to any collection. It is great for little fingers and is great for imaginative play.

I recently purchased this set and I was surprised at how many items came in the box. This set is a nice set that goes nicely with the dino range of Playmobil or it is a great set on its own.

I do not often buy figures however I have found that the emergency service items from Playmobil are quite expensive. I bought this set to add to Maxwell's stocking. He now has 2 figures that will help protect his Playmobil city from crime.

These little dragon warrior sets have been on offer for a while which has meant I have purchased a few of them. You do not get a lot in the packets so around the £3 figure is a good deal for these in my eyes. Maxwell loves playing with the dragons out of this set and loves coming up with imaginative ideas on how to use the dragons in his play.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

1. Maxwell was a fantastic pageboy at my Sisters Wedding
2. Maxwell's speech continues to improve
3. Maxwell is developing every day
4. Maxwell has had a brilliant start to the holidays
5. Maxwell is ready to go back to preschool

A week ago, Maxwell, Ben and I attended my sisters wedding. We had a amazing day and it is a day we will all remember for the rest of our lives. The venue was simply beautiful, my sister looked amazing and the day ran smoothly! To start off with, we were very worried about how Maxwell would deal with the wedding but after a lot of explaining and telling him stories via happy land, Maxwell behaved well at the wedding and more importantly he really enjoyed himself. It was a lovely day and it saw Maxwell walk in front of around 50 people at a packed out church. We are super proud of him and are amazed at how well he behaved.

Maxwell's speech has continued to develop well. Maxwell is now able to say 3 words together and it is easier for me to understand what he is saying - other's still find it hard. Maxwell now enjoys speaking to my mum on the phone - he speaks a few words to her. We are looking forward to Maxwell starting his special school in September and can not wait to see the progress he makes.

Maxwell's development is coming on well. Looking at how Maxwell was 4 month's ago, it is amazing to see how well he is progressing. He is now able to use a fork and spoon to eat his dinner which he was unable to and keeps giving potty training a go. He also has tried the odd new food and his imaginative play is getting there. What he lack's in some areas, he does very well in other areas. We are very proud of him as a family.

Maxwell has had a lovely start to the holidays. Maxwell has had a fun filled holiday already which has seen him attend a wedding, spend time with my parents, go on days out, go out for meals and more importantly do crafts, play in the garden and go to the park. His favourite day out so far was when we went to the beach. Maxwell loved the beach, he loved playing near the sea and he enjoyed having fun in the sand!

Maxwell is ready to go back to preschool however he does need some new shoes. I started off early this year and week by week, I have been picking up Maxwell small bits to go back to preschool. I have found a lot of items in the sale which included a beautiful coat which was reduced form £25 down to £8 and some gloves for the winter from £3 down to 25p! I love bargains and I always manage to find a lot of winter clothing bargains in the summer. The most expensive thing which we found to have purchased so far was Maxwell's new preschool jumper/tshirt. It cost us a whopping £20!

Top 5 Tips To Save Money On Food

Top 5 Tips To Save Money On Food

As many of you know, I love to save money and recently I have been asked how I manage to save so much money on food shopping. Just this week I spent only £26 to feed 3 of us for  a week due to following the steps below.  We eat full meals, 3 meals a day and we enjoy eating snacks through the day. I always ensure we are eating fruit and veg daily. To get such a low basket, you need to shop around and follow my steps below!

-------------------------------------------------------

1. Write a meal plan - Up until recently I never used to write a meal plan however writing one has opened up my eyes.  Since writing a meal plan, I am able to see what I have meal wise for that week and it has stopped any food waste that we used to have. A meal plan is easy to write and I pin mine either on our calendar which is in the kitchen or to the fridge freezer.

-------------------------------------------------------

2. Freeze what you can - In our house, we have 2 freezers, both which are full. We often joke and say, if there was no food in the shops, we would have enough in the freezer to last us a few weeks.  Anything that I am able to freeze which is soon to go out of date or I do not fancy eating, I freeze. If I make to much when eating meals, I also freeze. You can often also see me freezing items such as bananas, bread and milk. This means I often do not have to pop to the shop for stable items.

-------------------------------------------------------

3. Wombling - For a few months I have been wombling. If you do not know about wombling, it is a simple method which sees you take discarded receipts off the floor. Once you have taken them off the floor you are able to gain others rewards. Tesco - You are able to collect clubcard points, Asda - You are able to collect money thank's to there 10% better price promise and Morrisons you are able to gain points. Asda is my favourite place to womble at and is the only place I womble at. Weather it is 10p, 20p or £2 that you find after comparing a basket of shopping online at Asda, it all adds up to money off your food shopping. I will soon write a full blog post telling you how you can make money from rubbish on the floor!

-------------------------------------------------------

4. Coupons - I adore using coupons and I often tend to get £5+ off my food shopping when I go instore to supermarkets. My favourite place to use coupons at is at Tesco due to their staff being friendly as well as ensuring I get clubcard points added to my card which means free money for me to buy Maxwell Christmas presents with. I find coupons all over the place but my favourite place to find them is in in store magazines such as Tesco, online at places such as super savvy me as well as newspapers. I often write to companies and give them positive or negative feedback about a product and this can often see me being sent coupons.

-------------------------------------------------------

5. Buy reduced food - Most Sundays you are able to find me in my local supermarket at closing time. I adore going on a Sunday at around 3pm as this is when I can pick up items for pence. When buying reduced items,  I only pick up what I need and I ensure that if I am buying something and not planning to eat it that day, it can be frozen. I find the best supermarkets in my area to visit are Asda or Tesco. My favourite items to pick up are meat, so I can create delicious meals but I  also like picking up ready meals for Ben as these make quick and easy meals for him to eat when he is working late at night.

The Blogger Interview Tag

The Blogger Interview Tag

I was recently tagged by Bex in a tag called The Blogger Interview. In the tag, a few different questions are asked about blogging and you have to give your answer. I have answered all answers honestly and in full!
-------------------------------------------------------

How did you get into blogging?

I started blogging after reading a lot of blogs when I started entering competitions. I used to love reading money saving tips and I loved watching people's families grow. When I first started blogging, Maxwell was just a baby. The main reason I started blogging was due to fact I wanted to document our journey, starting off as a young family and I wanted to share my own money saving ideas that many people had not thought of. We are now 3 years into our journey of blogging and we are loving every single minute of it.
-------------------------------------------------------

What advice would you give to a blogger just starting out?

A blog takes time, money and patience. It is like a child. You need to love and nurture it, support it and over time it will blossom into something you love. You need to think about a subject you want to blog about and pick a fitting blog name that is unique to you and not others. You want your own identity, something that is easy for others to find and follow.

I always see people stating on forums that they are going to start a blog because they think it is easy to get "free" things to review and make money quickly. If you are looking to do these things, look elsewhere. You need to build up your blog which takes time and a lot of hard work. You need to learn thing's off your own back. You need to interact with the blogging community and you need to build up your own contacts which takes years not days.

Are you setting up a blog for the right reason? Why would a company send you items to review or pay you money to promote  if you have no following? What is in it for the company?

-------------------------------------------------------

How has your blog changed since you started writing it?

My blog has changed and will continue to change. As the world moves on, day by day, my blog moves on. When I first started blogging Max was just a baby. My blog was more baby orientated however Max is now a 3 year old little boy so baby things take a back seat.

When I first started blogging I had never laid my eyes on Instagram, Pinterest and I only had a Twitter account to enter competitions. These days I know how to use these sites well and I now have a large following on them - especially Twitter. Since I started blogging I have created my own identity, gone from a blogspot address to a co.uk address and had a lot of fun along the way.

What would be your dream campaign?

The smallest things make me happy and I love to see Maxwell smile. My dream campaign would be something that would help us create memories and something we could look back on years to come. My dream campaign would be a little holiday somewhere or a day spent on a cruise ship together as a family.

What advice would you give to PR’s wanting to approach you for a campaign?

Take the time to read my blog and learn about me and my family. The most irritating thing that I get sent is ton's of press releases daily, most that have nothing to do with what I write about. Not only does it waste a PR's time sending the to me but it wastes my time by having to put them into my junk folder. I do not publish any form of press releases and I never will.

Do you have a plan for your blog?

I would adore to write more money saving ideas and I would love to spend more time developing my blog - I hope to do this in the next year. I have a few other ideas that are sitting on the back burner at the moment but I can not wait to share new ideas with my readers in the future!

What do you think about rankings?

Is the number 100 going to change to number 1 if you obsess over it for a few hours? Ranks can be great however so much time can be wasted obsessing over them. The time that you spend obsessing can be spent better by doing positive things. If you are doing the best you can then being number 1 should not matter. Ranks can be great but they can make others feel very low. On these low days, step away from the numbers and remember why you started your blog!

I hope you enjoyed my answers to the questions above. If you could ask me any blog questions, what would they be? Please leave your questions in the comments below!

What I Won August 2015

For a while, I stopped entering competitions. Life got in the way and I had no time to enter competitions however I have been lucky enough to have a small amount of time to myself. Instead of "relaxing" in the evenings, I focused on entering as many competitions as I could. Overall I won over 15 prizes this month however a few of my favourite prizes are listed below.
What I Won 2015 - August

Ipod
I have entered a lot of competitions to win one of these and I was thrilled when my name got picked out of a hat to win one. I have been trying to win one for many months so it was fantastic when I finally managed to be picked to win one. I won this on a Facebook competition I have put this prize away for my Dad's Christmas present.

Retro Sweet Taster Hamper
I won this prize over on Instagram. I felt the prize was really cute and I loved the fact that the sweets were the type of sweets which were around when I was a child. As a family we adored eating the hamper - Maxwell loved eating the candy sticks and putting on a fake tattoo he found in one of the sweet packs.

£25 Ed's Easy  Diner Voucher
This prize will come in handy this August. We are wanting to do as much as possible with Maxwell on a budget and we can not wait to take him to sample Ed's Easy Diner. We have one locally and we are looking into taking Max to the cinema and then visiting here after.

Browtician Tweezers
These were only a small prize, but a small prize which will come in handy. I have been after a better pair of tweezers for ages to shape my eyebrows however I felt that £15 was a extravagant purchase for a pair. When the tweezers arrived, I found out they were limited edition! I love the design on them and they are great to use.

£100 Spa voucher
This was my biggest prize this month and I was really happy to win it. When the prize arrived, me and Ben set about making a plan and will be booking a little break away to use our prize. I adore going for spa days and I know Ben is keen to try one.

Was August a lucky month for you? What did you manage to win?
