This week we have done extremely well on capturing bargains, we had some left over money so we decided that we all would get a treat!
We decided we would go for a meal to Pizza Hut this week.
Before we set off we found out that on 02 priority moments you are able to get a pizza (11") and unlimited salad for £1. When getting there we ordered our 2 Meat Feast pizzas, ate unlimited salad and bought one drink between us - unlimited refill.
The pizzas were worth £9.25 each!!
Our meal came to 4.60, however I had £3 left on my gift card which I received as a present for Christmas - so we paid £1.60.
This visit we should have spent £18.50!
We had a good time and the food was lovely. The service however was not very good and the waiting time for our food was ages.
This week I've saved huge amounts of money by purchasing items in the sale.
My bargains this week were:
A pair of jeans in New Look - £22.99 reduced to £6.50
A pair of jeans in New Look - £20 reduced to £10
A top in New Look - £7.99 reduced to £2.50
A top in New Look -£7.99 reduced to £3.00
A top in H&M -£7.99 reduced to £3.00
A top in H&M -£7.99 reduced to £2.50
I also purchased a designer handbag - £80 reduced to £20!
The price of all this should have been £154.95, however I managed to pick this little load up for £47.50
That is a huge saving of £107.45!
Ben also managed to pick up a designer jacket - £100 reduced to £25. Saving £75
Maxwell has also been very spoilt this week, he has been bought -
A whole outfit from a baby website - £30 reduced to £8.50
A pair of jeans also from the website £12 reduced to £4.50
Also with this we managed to pick him up a free toy as it was our first purchase with them worth £10.
We have been looking for ages to buy him a trike although the one we wanted was £100, so this week I have spent some time looking around for one!
FINALLY, we have found him one!
The trike was worth £60 however it was in the half price sale. I then looked and found some extra codes to get some money off - altogether we have purchased him the trike for £23 and also have received free next day delivery - worth £7.50!
So overall Maxwell's stuff should have cost £119.50 however we have purchased him all this for a cool £36.10!
Saving £83.40!
Altogether all our shopping and meal out should have cost : £392.95
We payed £110.20!
We have had a very good week and I can't wait to see what next week will bring us!
Review - MAM Toothbrush - 6 Months+
Thursday, 28 June 2012
Taking care of my Maxwell's teeth is something that I hadn’t really though about until Mam sent me their first brush in spring green.
The first brush is for independent cleaning.
Its' features are-
• A short and compact handle - perfect for imitating adult tooth brushing
• Children learn independent tooth brushing correctly from the start
• Round head adapts perfectly to baby’s mouth
• Soft, rounded bristles clean first teeth and remove plaque and bacteria
MAM always use bright colours which appeal to children, when Maxwell saw the toothbrush in my hand he took it off me instantly and put it in his mouth.
Although he needed help brushing, he welcomed it into his mouth and let me help him brush away.
The brush features a round head with soft bristles, this was comfortable for Maxwell on his gums and caused him no discomfort. It fitted in his mouth brilliantly.
I wasn't fighting for control when I helped him brush, it was very easy to help move round his mouth due to its shape!
The tooth brush also features a non slip handle, I think this would come in handy if Maxwell was brushing his teeth in the bath and he got the brush wet.
He was able to grip the toothbrush extremely well as it is shaped well for his fingers to fit round.
The short handle was good as Maxwell could easily put it in his mouth, although I had my hand over his hand to help him brush
At the end of the toothbrush it features a extremely handy massager! Maxwell welcomed this as his teeth are causing him a lot of pain as they come through. He loved this and was using the massager for well over 30 mins. He could hold the toothbrush by itself and could easily use this feature on its own. This feature also is designed to clean his tongue which Maxwell also could do when moving it around his mouth.
Overall I thought the toothbrush was great, this was the first time Maxwell used a toothbrush and he had no problem with using it.
The only thing I would recommend to MAM is perhaps the toothbrush could come with a guard, thiswould cover the bristles and maybe the massager as you are not able to boil, steam, or sterilise the brush.
Saying that I would definitely recommend this product to parents that want to teach their child to brush their teeth alone and also recommend it to parents if their children are teething as the massage feature is great on babies gums by itself!
I rate this product 4/5.
You can buy the first brush in green, pink and blue.

Bargain Hunter - Thats Me!

I started couponing when I fell pregnant with Maxwell as I knew money would be tight - especially on our grocery shopping and other things such as nappies and other baby products!
I scourer the internet using Money Saving Expert Threads and also a great website called BeforeIShop! On both these websites you can find "printable vouchers" however to save ink when printing, there is normally a little link at the bottom of the voucher saying "Don't have a printer". I always click this and then get the voucher sent directly to my house! If this option is not available I just send a quick email to the company asking if I could perhaps have a voucher sent to me. I normally find their address on their website under contact us - 9/10 they always send me a voucher!
Another great way of getting coupons is joining things such as baby clubs - Tesco, Boots, Hipp Organic and Aptamil are my main favourites as they send coupons regularly.
The internet is also a great place to shop and when I do shop online I always search the net for vouchers that perhaps give me 10% off or free delivery. If I can't find a voucher and think I can wait to buy the product I sometimes wait! At Christmas I did all my shopping online as a lot of retailers had great deals on. As it's £7 return on the bus sometimes shopping online can save money as well as time!
When I use my vouchers I work out the best deal and the cheapest price I can buy the product at!
Each week I manage to save around £10 on my shopping! The picture shown is a few days worth of coupons collected for this week!
This picture is showing my wins this week!
Seeing as it is only mid-week I am doing well and I have plenty more prizes coming in the post- I will upload a picture at the end of the week when I receive them!
I enter competitions all over the web and can spend a few hours doing it a day (mainly when Maxwell is in bed).
The Tropicana and Mr Kipling cakes came from Facebook. I won vouchers and simply took them to my local supermarket and redeemed the products!
I love winning things for Maxwell - most things I win for him go into my present box for him for his Christmas and Birthday!
I also recently won a £50 cake voucher to buy a designer cake with so this will also go towards his birthday! Seeing as it's my birthday the day after we may have to share the cake.
I recently have been looking on the internet for freebies. I have joined many websites that email me daily telling me about freebies that I can get! I love little samples and have got a box that comes in handy now and again, or I give them to family when they go away on their holidays!
This week I have received a toothbrush for Maxsdll as well as a soft toy for him. Also a cake mix with a small recipe and a small sample of perfume!
The samples of perfume always come in handy on a night out as they are great at fitting in a small handbag!
I am also awaiting samples in the post of shampoo, nail and hand cream and more perfume!
Sometimes when I receive samples the company also include a voucher, which is an extra added bonus!
These are what I bought today for Maxwell whilst on a shopping trip! I bought him the bigger size (12-18 months) so he has time to grow into them but also know he will get wear out of them! I brought him the jeans, the shorts, the boots and the cardigan - worth £20 but we managed to scrape it together for £8. The T-shirt and matching shorts were £7 reduced to £3!
Most of our clothes are in the sale, I refuse to pay more than £5 a item unless it is really necessary to!
Ben is more into designer clothes, however we still manage to shop around for bargains at our local designer outlets and big sales where there is sometimes up to 75% off!
I also shop around for the cheapest place to buy such things like his vests and baby-grows. Supermarkets are all very competitive but are great for these little necessary pieces!
The things you see in the picture are all like new and the play mat and the toy cube actually came in its original packaging - these 4 items have cost us no more than around £6.50.
We are lucky that in our local village there are around 6 charity shops so when we visit the village we take a peek into the shops and see what we can find!
I am using this post for the Approved Foods/Tots100 competition
Euro 2012!
Tuesday, 26 June 2012
Maxwell really enjoyed the football and is a keen football supporter! Just like his Daddy!
Maxwell wanted to dedicate this to the Euro's 2012!
This was his face when he found out that they had gone out the competition!
A Very Busy Weekend!
I have a box that i have started to put things in for Maxwell for Christmas and his Birthday, seeing as his birthday is on the 12th of December then Christmas is 25th not to also mention my birthday being on the 13th of December! Its going to be a very busy and expensive month!
I also managed to win another competition on twitter this weekend - i won a set of bath ducks! Maxwell loves his baths and especially loves his fish (Rubber Toys of course) so this will also make another great present for him - In the box it goes!
Today we went into Southampton and came home with a further few presents!
We are very lucky to have a supermarkets home store in Southampton, whilst browsing we managed to find Maxwell a Toy Story Rex - Plate, bowl and Cup! It was £4.89 reduced to 89p - Another nice stocking filler at a bargain price!
We also went into a entertainment shop who are
offering £5 off if you have 02 priorities moments. We managed to pick 2
DVDs up that were on offer already at 2 for £10 but with another £5 off
we got them for £5 - bargain when they actually came to £16 for the two!
I'm sure he will enjoy them!
I have also been very lucky with wins this weekend - A total of 5! - All small wins but useful.
I won -
- A pair of pants from a well know underwear retailer!
- A internet security package - (Will come in useful as mine is soon running out)
- A Family ticket for a Day Out
- A Set Of Bath Ducks (Max's Stocking Filler)
- A set of detergent balls - I'm excited about trying these as they are Eco friendly!
I also had a sample of perfume sent to me - i love the little samples of these they come very handy in your purse when going out! I also had a sample of a cake mixture although it didn't come with instructions :(.
Also his Great Nan gave him £20 which Max put in his money pot to save for a rainy day!
Overall we have had a excellent weekend - especially as Ben has finally had 2 days off after working 12 days straight!
Me and Maxwell hope you all are well! Please keep supporting and sharing our page! <3
A Huge Warm Welcome!!
Saturday, 23 June 2012
My name is Helen, i am 20, I live in sunny Southampton with my partner Ben, and my son Maxwell who has just turned 6 months old! I'm also very lucky too have a very supportive Mum and Dad and an amazing sister that live round the corner from me!
I studied at college doing Public services - managed to pass my 2nd year, whilst working at Build A Bear and Mcdonalds -but then i fell pregnant with my beautiful son!
He was born on my due date - a day before my 20th birthday after 32 hours of labour with no pain relief (except calpol) weighing a healthy 8oz10!
He was not planned, but no way, was a mistake!
People look at me, make comments and see me as a young mum the usual stereo typical thing comes into peoples heads - she got pregnant for a house and to live of benefits and no way can she support her son!
However people could not be any more wrong about my situation! I hope whilst following me on this blog i can change peoples views of this!
In our house, Me and Max get up to lots of things during the day!
Max's main hobbies are -
Going out for outings - Recently we visited the zoo and he had a fab time looking at all the animals, he also loves spending time at the local beaches and going on shopping trips!
Eating! - He eats for England! Hes a massive fan of food and his favourite meal is curry!
Playing with toys! - He loves playing with toys that makes a lot of noise he also appreciates things that are shiny so he can see himself in them!
Hes a TV addict! - Sometimes i think he would love a TV built into his cot! He could entertain himself throwout the day, except maybe i could get a little bell for him to ring, when he needs me to bring him food and change his nappy!
He loves to shop - He accompanies me on many shopping trips and gives me his advice!
Max himself keeps up to date with the latest trends and will never be seen in the same outfit.. i sometimes think he gets all his food all over the place so he can wear different clothes that day
He loves bouncing! - Since he was tiny hes always had his baby bouncer - however unfortunately he has grown to big for it and every time he sits in it it collapses to his amusement!
Socialising with his baby friends! - He often visits the local children's centre to attend classes such as baby massage and baby sign language! He loves to socialise!
Seeing his Nanny and Grampy and Auntie and Uncle Rob! - He loves the attention not to mention being spoilt by them all!
If i am not busy- I enjoy using the latest gadgets that are on the market! Me and my partner also enjoy going out for meals, going to the cinema & watching films, playing games against each other on games consoles and our phones and spending our time with Maxwell!
My main hobby is comping! I haven't been doing it long, but it has taken a part of my life over! Its a thrill everyday to see what the postman delivers! I love winning things that will benefit Max! And little bits and pieces for myself and my family!
My second hobby is couponing! I wish i could extreme coupon over here like they do in the USA, however i guess it will never take off! I love doing my weeks shop and saving money (Normally around a saving of £10 a week).
The main reason i am starting this blog is so i am able to look back on Max growing up but also sharing my life with people, reviewing products that are on the market, giving my thoughts and opinions on things and i may even run the odd competition!
