Win with Kiddylicious snacks and Munch Bagz

To celebrate Mummy To The Max's Birthday, Kiddylicious snacks and Munch Bagz have kindly teamed up with Mummy To The Max and are offering one lucky reader the chance to win a fabulous hamper filled with Kiddylicious snacks and Munch Bagz treats.

Kiddylicious snacks and Munch Bagz don’t just taste great, they're nutritious, fun to eat and have a whole portion of fruit or veg in every little bag! No wonder little ones enjoy eating them and mums love to give them as snacks. We have a fantastic range of delicious fruit and vegetable based snacks – from crunchy Fruit and Vegetable Crisps to more-ish Smoothie Melts and Wriggles, and now our very own Wibble Wobble Jelly Pots and Crispie Tiddlers, that are sold in every major supermarket chain in the UK. Our newly launched Munch Bagz Krazy Kubez can be found in the snacking section at Asda in two delicious flavours.

Snacks are a vital part of a growing toddler’s daily routine – three meals and two snacks a day are recommended, so it’s important they are tasty as well as healthy and nutritious. As a food scientist, Sally Preston who created Kiddylicious and Munch Bagz knew that feeding great tasting food to babies was the key to developing and educating their palates to enjoy a wide variety of foods and develop a positive attitude to food in later life – taste matters.

As children grow and their routine changes with the start of school, children still need lots of fruit and vegetables but they are also looking for a slightly larger snack - and something that is a little bit different from snacks for their little brothers and sisters! So we created Munch Bagz, so kids continue to get the same fun and great-tasting snacks together with one of their five a day.

2 Year Blogiversary

Today is my second year blogiversary and what a fantastic 2 years I have managed to have so far. The memories I have made thanks to this little bit of webspace have been magical and I am so proud of what Maxwell and I have managed to achieve.

This blog would not be alive if it wasn't for Maxwell. Over the past 2 years Maxwell has grown into a amazing little boy. He is no longer that 6 month old needy baby which needed me 24/7 when I first started out on this blog. Maxwell is now a independent smart intelligent, cheerful little toddler who now knows what he wants and he know's what he dislikes.

Overall this blog means so much to me. Often people do not see the effort which goes on behind the scenes to keep blogs afloat. Over the past year I have managed to stay up very late at night to meet deadlines for blog posts, I have brought my readers competitions which I hope you have all managed to enjoy, I have gone to events and learnt new things about blogging, I have been sent on a holiday and met blogger friends and their children and I have managed to interact more with people on a whole. I have also grasped every opportunity that has been thrown at me with both hands.

Over the past year I have seen my blog get a little more successful, We are now at 342k page views and have many followers over on Twitter and on our other social media outlets. Over the last year I have seen readers stick around more and I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for those that have followed our journey and have taken the time to read our blog posts and even comment. Everything our readers do, spurs us on to do more and to even improve.

Some days I lack motivation with my blog and I often need a boot up the backside, I just wanted to say thank you to many of my blog friends who have been there for me through these times, but also my mum. My mum is my rock, outside the blog world I feel some people don't get "blogs" however one person who does is my mum. She is often happy to throw ideas into the mix and with her help this year I hope my blog grows and becomes even better.

Another thank you I feel I owe is to companys. A big company who deserve a huge thank you is the wonderful team over at Nelson's. They are a fantastic PR team who work extremely hard and believe in what they do. They believed in me this year and sponsored me to go to Britmums.  Britmums was a event which I adored and without Nelson's getting behind me and sending me there I would have not learnt anything to add to this blog, nor would I have got to meet some fantastic blogging friends. I also feel I need to say thank you to other companies, so thank you, thank you for believing in us and working with us.

I am unsure where the next year may take me and Maxwell on our blog however I hope this time next year I will be blogging about our 3 year blogiversary and writing about Maxwell's adventures.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell loved going to preschool
  2. We visited Nanny and Grandad
  3. Maxwell is spending a night away from me
  4. Maxwell has been eating lots of new food this week
  5. Maxwell is going to be in Chat Magazine
On Tuesday Maxwell went for his first session at preschool, he absolutely adored it. I was very scared that Maxwell would kick up a fuss and hate it however Maxwell behaved well and made very little fuss. Ben and I stayed a hour to start with however we eventually left when Maxwell decided to head outside into the garden. Although excited about the fact Maxwell was going to preschool and excited about the fact that my little man was growing up,  I managed to get very teary as we left him. I managed to pull myself together however and sat counting down the minutes until I could go and pick him up. Upon picking him up I was happy to hear Maxwell had been good as gold and that they were looking forward to Maxwell attending next week.

This week Maxwell, Great Grandad, Ben and I had a wonderful day out with my parents. Since they have moved away I get to spend little time with them however this week we spent a full day with them and had a lovely time. Maxwell got to spend a lot of time with Grandad and enjoyed kicking a ball around and also enjoyed going to the park and going down the slides. I enjoyed spending time with my family and catching up on what everyone had been up to recently. We had a lovely day out and I hope there will be plenty more family days this summer.

As it is Britmums week Maxwell will be shipped off to my parents for 1 night whilst I am away in London. Since Maxwell has been alive I have spent very little time away from him and I must admit I find it hard not having Maxwell around. I am hoping Maxwell will have a lovely time without me. I am sure my parents have lots of fun plans and Maxwell will get up to lots of activities with them.

Maxwell has continued to do well this week with his eating. This week saw Ben and I buy Maxwell a table and chair set which we thought would encourage Maxwell to eat his food a little better. We were right about the table and this week we have seen Maxwell use a spoon to eat chocolate mousse, a fork to eat his salad and a fork to see him eat pasta. These foods are something Maxwell would never try so we are thrilled that he is trying hard to try new things.

A few months ago I sent Maxwell's photo into a magazine for their cutest baby feature. If I am honest I did not expect to hear back as I expect a lot of parents send in pictures of their cute children however this week I got an exciting email to tell me they loved Maxwell's photo and they would love to publish it in Chat Magazine. We are all really excited to see Maxwell in the magazine so please keep a eye out if you see him in there and let us know.

What I'm Wearing To BritMums Live 2014

Thanks to Nelson Arnicare on Friday I will be heading off to London and going to BritMums live. I am truly excited to meet old friends but also new friends however I am a little worried. I have very low confidence and since finding out that I was going to Britmums Live 2014 for the second year, I have been worried about what I will be wearing.

Since I had Maxwell, I have lacked confidence. Once a size 6, I am now a size 16 and I really struggle with what I wear daily. I like to follow fashion however being that little bit larger, I find that some items which I would love to wear would not suit my body type. Finding a BritMums outfit has been hard. I hate change however I felt that BritMums was a special occasion and I needed that change. Here are my outfit choices below:

For Day 1 I wanted to be comfy whilst travelling but also that little bit dressier for the evening. Unfortunately this week I managed to rip my toenail off my toe and have had it bandaged for most of the week so sandals are my only shoe option at the moment as any other types of shoe are too tight for my foot. I adore the dress which I have chosen to wear, the design is pretty and I love that I have finally found a maxi dress which has arms. I am very self conscience about my arms so this dress gives me that little bit of confidence as my arms are slightly hidden. The bag I have chosen is large enough to put my bits and pieces in which I will need and is big enough to fit a cardigan in if I get cold.

For Day 2, I wanted to dress down a little. I have chosen a simple top and jeans which I think will be comfy to sit in on the day but also when travelling home. Again I will be wearing sandals due to my toe and I will more than likely have a cardigan in my bag incase it gets cold. I will be using the same bag as day 1 as I see very little point in taking 2 bags.

At the present moment I adore the So Fabulous clothing range and although some of there items can be a little pricey, I find that the quality of the items are amazing and they are fit well with my body shape.

These are my outfit choices and I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else will be wearing. If you are interested in what others are wearing why not head over to the BritMums linky and have a nose? I would also love to see what others are wearing and what people think of my outfit choices.

Special Gifts From MSC Cruises!

A few weeks ago I was sent a email asking if Maxwell would like to receive some summer treats from the lovely people at MSC Cruises. With our holiday coming up and me being busy with my blog, I thought it would be a lovely idea to receive a lovely treat from MSC Cruises to keep Maxwell entertained. Living in Southampton we often see the MSC Cruise ships departing from Southampton and this gave me even more reason to look forward to seeing what they were going to send us. I have always been a huge fan of the water, with my parents owning their own yacht as well as my Grandma sailing on the big ships like the QE2, their is nothing more I like to do than watching the ships sail by from our local areas such as Hythe Marina, Lepe Beach and Calshot.

When Maxwell's box arrived of goodies, I was overwhelmed. MSC Cruises had really gone that extra mile and surprised me with all the wonderful things they had sent to us. All the products in the box were sea themed which I thought was a lovely touch. Maxwell was also overjoyed, especially as he managed to spot some pirate goodies. Here is what we were sent:

We were sent some craft goodies including a lovely sea themed sticker book, additional sea themed stickers and some toddler friendly crayons which were perfect for Maxwell's small hands to grip. We ended taking the sticker book and crayons on holiday. They kept Maxwell entertained for hours.

We were sent a Usborne Big Book Of Ships. I adore this book and since having it me and Maxwell have gone through it and I have explained to him what we see on the water when we visit our key sea places. Although he is still a little to young to understand, this book will grow with him. The illustrations are lovely and the text inside the book is simple for him to understand.

Maxwell's favourite item which we were sent in the box was an amazing Jake And The Neverland Pirate Lego Duplo Set. Maxwell is a huge fan of pirates and this set is perfect for Maxwell, it has kept him entertained for hours and I can not see him getting bored of it soon. The set is colourful, easy to build and has lots of little extra bits which make the set detailed.

The last set of goodies Maxwell was sent was a lovely swimming top and a tshirt. With the summer coming up the swimming top is perfect for Maxwell to wear outside in the sun and the tshirt is perfect to keep him cool in the hot sun.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to MSC Cruises for sending us lovely thoughtful gifts. It was a lovely surprise and one which we very much appreciate. One day we hope to make the dream of sailing on one of your beautiful cruise ships a reality!

I was not asked to write this post. I simply did as I wanted to thank MSC Cruises for their kindness.
Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.

Fitbit Zip – Review

Over the last few months I have wanted to get fitter. I have wanted to not only get fitter to feel better about myself but also because it is my sisters wedding coming up next year and I am to be bridesmaid. Recently I purchased a treadmill in hope that it would make me that little bit fitter and also in hope that I would lose weight. Along with the treadmill came the trainers as well as an amazing gadget - A Fitbit Zip.

The Fitbit Zip is a very clever little device and it is not your regular pedometer like many may think. The Fitbit Zip is a small gadget which tracks your steps, distance, and calories burned. The Fitbit Zip can tell your computer, smart phone and even your tablet the data which you have recorded on the Fitbit Zip when using it. All you have to do is simply set up a account and this allows you to set goals and view your progress.

At first I was very scared about using the Fitbit Zip due to the fact it is quite small. I was quite aware that the Fitbit Zip was there when I was running on the treadmill and my main worry was that it may fall out of my trouser pocket and I would not notice, however after a few times of running on my treadmill I soon forgot it was there and my worry was quashed.

After using the Fitbit Zip I was able to see easily how many steps I had taken, the distance I had walked and calories I had burned however I felt like I wanted to see it on a larger screen so after a few times of using the Fitbit Zipp I logged on to the Fitbit Zip's app to see my progress and I was able to see that I was not doing as well as I should have been doing. I felt I was not taking enough steps and I was not burning enough calories so I instantly decided to set myself a bigger goal.

From setting myself a bigger goal  I decided that I would go on the treadmill twice a day instead of just the once. Over the last week I have been more motivated to use the treadmill and I have increased the amount of time I spend on it. This is mainly due to the fact I now have the Fitbit Zip. I am the type of person that loves to meet targets and if I do not I feel motivated to do more.

The battery on the Fitbit Zip is not rechargeable and simply uses a watch type battery. This means that you do not have to recharge the battery daily which can be time consuming. The battery should last 6 months and after looking on the internet I have found that the battery is not actually that expensive to replace if it is to die.

Eventually I would love to start running outside and the Fitbit Zip will be perfect for this use also thanks to it being waterproof, sweat proof and even splash proof. The Fitbit Zip can not only go in your pocket but it can also clip on to a belt as well.

Overall I was extremely impressed with the Fitbit Zip. I love the fact that it is not just a average pedometer and that it has so many features. I really like the fact that I can see stats on the Fitbit Zip itself but I can also log onto my computer and see how well I am doing. The Fitbit Zip comes in a range of colours and can be purchased via QVC for just £46.50.

A Week Of Learning And New Experiences

  1. Maxwell has some new garden toys
  2. Maxwell is starting Preschool this week
  3. Maxwell has been trying lots more foods this week
  4. Maxwell has been a little less mischievous
  5. Maxwell is trying/saying more words
I have to say, Maxwell has been a little spoilt this week. In the space of a week Maxwell has managed to get new trainers, a new bag and a beautiful Funpit table and stool off us however he also got one other surprise. Whilst on holiday Maxwell adored going on the slide at the play park and since being back Maxwell has continued to love going on the slide at our local park, so I thought it would be a good idea to get him a slide for the back garden. After having a look on the internet I found a Little Tikes slide priced at £20 including delivery - a bargain as they are normally priced at over £35. Within 2 days the slide was here and ever since Maxwell has been playing on the slide happily. When going down it he loves to scream "weeeeeee" and he loves to also push his cars and toys down it.

After visiting Maxwell's potential new preschool on Monday, we decided we loved the place and have arranged for Maxwell to start attending once a week. The whole setup and environment was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We found there was lots of activities for Maxwell to do there and we were chuffed when Maxwell decided to go and play by himself. I am unsure how he will react when we leave him by himself there however I hope over time Maxwell grows to love it and it will help him develop lots of new skills.

This week has seen Maxwell try more foods. From vegetable noodles, to eggs and sausage, to milkshakes Maxwell has very much impressed me. We were stuck in a rut where Maxwell only wanted to eat dried foods and vegetables and fruit however it is wonderful to see him enjoying food again and trying new things he has never tried before.

Last week I told my readers about Maxwell playing up and its safe to say I really struggled with his behaviour. As Ben works nights I find myself bringing up Maxwell on my own mostly and I find that some days can be a lot harder than others. Having to tell Maxwell off constantly and him not listening to me was frustrating. Last week Maxwell nearly reduced me to tears however this week Maxwell's behaviour has been much better and we are back to having the polite, bright, helpful and friendly Maxwell. I am hoping last week was just a blip.

This week has seen Maxwell trying to say lots of new words. From Ted to slide and house, Maxwell is slowly getting there. We are now hoping that preschool will give him the final push into speaking and soon we will be able to have proper conversations with Maxwell.

Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver Review

As many of my readers know, we recently moved. Whilst moving Ben and I decided to buy quite a few bits and bobs for our home which were flat packed. We spent hours sat down, reading instructions and then slowly screwing pieces of our flat packed furniture together. If I am honest it took us hours and in the end we became quite frustrated with the amount of time we were spending building things. Ben and I now have more flat packed furniture to put up which we have been putting off, however just in time for Father's day we have received a Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver which will help us build our flat packed furniture quickly.

The Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver is a lovely gadget which comes all in one. The Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver comes with 6 popular bits inside its replaceable cartridge and can be filled with any bit according to your task. Instead of hunting around the house for screwdriver heads, the Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver allows you to save time as all the bits are there ready to use.

The Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver is pocket sized which means it is perfect to not only use in your own home but also to take elsewhere. I was a tiny bit disappointed to see that the screwdriver did not have its own case and instead came in a cardboard case. Without it being in a case I am a tiny bit worried that the Screwdriver may get damaged in transport or when not in use however not having a case does not affect the screwdrivers use.

A Li-Ion battery makes The Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver always ready to use whenever you need it. If the screwdriver has been laid in storage for months, the screwdriver should still work when you go to use it. When you do find yourself needing to charge the screwdriver you will only have to wait 3-5 hours until it is fully charged which is fantastic in my eyes. The Screwdriver itself is lightweight and includes 1 speed setting.

A few of my favourite features which the screwdriver includes are the brilliant built in LED. The LED allows me to use the screwdriver in dark spots. This feature is extremely handy. Another one of my favourite features is the fact that the screwdriver has a reverse function. If a screw is wrongly screwed in, it would take a matter of seconds to get the screw out thanks to this easy to use feature.

The Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver come with a 3 year warranty. You are able to purchase The Worx QBit Multi-Bit Cordless Screwdriver from Argos this Fathers Day.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review.
However we did receive the product for review purposes. Everything written in this post is my own, honest opinion.
