At Christmas, Maxwell never often ask's for many items. He has a few items which he says he would like however I know if we do not manage to get them for Maxwell he will understand and ask for them at a later date. This year Maxwell asked for a robot. Having looked around on Google and at Amazon reviews I found searching for one quite a tricky procedure. I was unsure what was worth the money and what robot included the best features, be suitable for his age and last however when I saw the Xtrem Bots Tropper Bot on Amazon I knew I had struck gold when I decided to read the reviews online about it.

Oobicoo Doll Review
Thursday, 4 December 2014
For the last few weeks Maxwell has had a new friend visiting us. At first Maxwell was very wary of his new friend. Maxwell was not sure whether to play with him, interact with him or even have him close by however after a day or 2, Maxwell adjusted to his new friend and since then they have been inseparable.
Maxwell was sent the Ollie Oobicoo doll. Ollie has short brown hair and when he arrived he had a Oobicoo vest on and was snuggled into a fabric pod. The reason he was snuggled into a fabric pod was because the people at Oobicoo love to minimize packaging so they use the fabric pods to get their Oobicoo doll's from A to B instead of using a cardboard box.
After Maxwell adjusted to having Ollie in our home, I allowed Maxwell to pick some of his old clothes and dress Ollie in them. Maxwell settled for a plain T shirt as well as a pair of jeans to dress Ollie in. Ollie fitted into most of Maxwell's old clothes however we did find that adding shoes to Ollie was a small problem. Since dressing Ollie on the second day we got him, Maxwell has continued to look after Ollie and care for him. Maxwell feeds Ollie, dresses him and loves to brush his hair.
We have found that Ollie is great for imaginary play and Maxwell treats him like a real life friend. Ollie has became one of Maxwell's favorite toys. Ollie is suitable for children age 3+ however Maxwell got Ollie at the age of 2 years and 10 months and I have found that Ollie was suitable for Maxwell to use at that age.
A great thing about the Oobicoo dolls is that once Maxwell has grown out of playing with the doll, the doll can be recycled due to its material that it is made out of or it can be passed on to a new friend. The doll can be machine washed or hand washed which is a great feature the Oobicoo dolls offers. The concept of the dolls is very special.
Maxwell and I both adore the Oobicoo doll and I would definitely recommend them to any parents out there who's child loves imaginary play or dressing up. Maxwell loves caring for Ollie and I can see that Ollie will grow with Maxwell for another few years at least.
If you are interested in purchasing a Oobicoo doll this Christmas then you are able to buy one here. The dolls are priced at just £29.99 which I think is a steal. There are 4 different Oobicoo dolls to collect - 2 boys and 2 girls. Each dolls is unique due to it being hand sewn. The Oobicoo dolls will make the perfect present for your child this Christmas.

Tobar Wooden Farm Set
Thursday, 27 November 2014
For a while now Maxwell has enjoyed doing lots of imaginary play. Maxwell loves imaginary play and we are sure Maxwell's speech is progressing due to it. Recently I have been wanting to get Maxwell a play farm set, I figured Maxwell would find it easier to identify animals when they were sat in front of him and I also thought a farm set would be a great way to teach him animal noises. This Christmas Maxwell was sent a beautiful wooden Tobar farm set.
As soon as the farm set arrived, we were overwhelmed by it. It was everything I had expected and more. I was generally very impressed with it and to date it is one of my favorite items that I have featured in our gift guide this Christmas.
The Tobar farm set is a farmhouse carry case which can be used to transport all the wooden farm pieces around in. The farmhouse opens up and forms a beautiful play set which any child would love playing with. Inside the farm set there are two trees, a carrot patch, a cow, pig, horse, sheep, duck, chicken, two farmers and a pair of fences.
A lot of detail has been added to this farm set, from fluffy carrot tops on the carrot patch to the farmer carrying a bucket, there is something which everyone will love to see. All the pieces in the farm set are bright and child friendly however due to small parts I would not reccomend this toy to anyone younger than the age of 3.
All the pieces in the farm set are a good size and are the perfect size for Maxwell to clutch in his little hands. The pieces are well designed and are able to stand up on their own. Maxwell and I enjoyed trying to create scenes with the farm set. We loved getting the two wooden farmers to look after their animals, feed their animals and even take them for a ride in their own cart.
I adore the Tobar farm set and I believe it is one of the best toys Maxwell has at the present moment. The Tobar farm set can be found here and will set you back around £15. Not only is it the perfect present for a child, it would be a great idea as a stocking filler.

Fisher Price Motion Control Thomas Review
Saturday, 8 November 2014
Maxwell has always had a set of characters which he adores. Peppa Pig has always been at the top of his favorite list however coming a close second would be Thomas The Tank Engine along with the Alphablocks. A few weeks ago Maxwell and I received a exciting email asking us if Maxwell would like to review a new top toy which could go on to be top of many childrens Christmas lists, we of course said yes and waited eagerly for its arrival. The toy arrived the day Maxwell was at preschool, once Maxwell got home I allowed him to see what was inside the package which had been sent to us.
After a few shrieks and a lot of excited laughs, Maxwell was allowed to open his new toy. Maxwell had been sent the Fisher Price My First Thomas and Friends Motion Control Thomas. Maxwell was extremely excited and wanted to get his new Thomas toy straight out of the packaging. Once out of the packaging Thomas was ready to be played with straight away, there was no assembling to do and the toy came with working batteries.
Maxwell placed Thomas on the floor and waited for Thomas to get ready to explore our living room. I took the time to explain to Maxwell how his new Thomas worked and what hand movements he would need to do to get Thomas to explore our home. After a while of explaining Maxwell was ready to go on a top adventure with Thomas.
Thomas happily moved backwards and forwards, and responded to the bright yellow crossing sign which came with the Thomas toy to get him to stop. Once Thomas was on the move again, he was ready to reverse and turn and was careful to avoid any objects which were in his way. To get Thomas to move all you simply had to do was hold your hand over the motion control sensors on the top of Thomas's cab, with hand movements Thomas was able to clearly follow the path you wanted him to move to.
Thomas is a great toy for children to interact with. The Fisher Price My First Thomas and Friends Motion Control Thomas is different to many other toys on the market. It is built to last and is built for little hands to play with. The design and the features have been thought out well and I would 100% reccomend the Fisher Price My First Thomas and Friends Motion Control Thomas.
The Fisher Price My First Thomas and Friends Motion Control Thomas is recommended for ages 2+, Motion Thomas has a RRP of £40, and is available to buy from a number of retailers including Amazon. When posting this review The Fisher Price My First Thomas and Friends Motion Control Thomas was priced at just £23.

Not only does Thomas like to move around but he also loves to play games. Thomas features a game of Thomas Says, Thomas simply tells you actions of what to do. The game resembles the fun game of Simon Says. There is also a feature called Race Mode, in Race Mode you have to wave your hand back and forth over Thomas and he’ll rev for racing then speed ahead.

My Pal Scout Leapfrog Toy Review
Wednesday, 16 July 2014
Recently Maxwell was sent a very special treat and ever since he had the pleasure of receiving it, it has not left Maxwell's side. Maxwell was sent the popular Leapfrog toy, My Pal Scout. As a huge fan of the Leapfrog and his favourite toy being Read With Me Scout, Maxwell was extremely excited to try Scout out.
At a first glance My Pal Scout looks like a usual soft cuddly toy for your child to enjoy however My Pal Scout has lots of extras which are sure to entertain your child. Scout is an interactive toy which can be personalised. All you have to do is simply connect Scout up to a computer with a USB which comes with Scout and you will then be easily able to change the music and personalise Scout. Scout will soon be able say your child's name, favourite food, animal and colour.
The personalisation set up process was incredibly easy and it took me very little time to personalise Scout for Maxwell. Leapfrog ensure that clear instructions show on your computer through the personalisation process. Since personalising Scout, he can now say hello to Maxwell and say this his favourite food is Pizza. I love the fact that if Maxwell's taste were to change, I could easily access Leapfrogs website and change Scouts tastes to suit Maxwell's.
Scout has 4 paws and each paw has a different feature, Scouts 4 paws are: Activities Paw, Lullaby Paw, Power Paw and Day Time Song Paw. Each paw has a different use. The Activities Paw is there to play and learn with, The Lullaby Paw allows your child to listen to soothing songs before bed, The Power Paw allows you to turn Scout off and the Day Time Song Paw allows your child to listen to fun songs.
Maxwell was extremely excited and happy when Scout started talking to him, he was especially excited when he heard Scout say "Hi Max". Out of all the features Maxwell's favourite feature was the music. Scout knows bedtime music which is soothing however he also knows fun songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Over the past week we have seen Maxwell take Scout to bed, on day trips and Maxwell loves to play with him throughout the day. Scout is the perfect size for Maxwell to hold on to, hug and take places. Scout is bright green and is very eye catching, his collar also lights up which Maxwell adores as the collar often flashes.

TOMY - Chuggington Track Review
Saturday, 5 October 2013
Do your children enjoying playing with trains?
Are you looking for a toy which is fun, hard wearing, built to last and magical?
When seeing the boxes with Chuggington on the front, Maxwell was dying to open them and get the contents out. We started off using the Stack Track. I was happy to set up the tracks for Maxwell myself however Maxwell wanted to help, so we set straight to work to get the train track up and running. We carefully opened the boxes to find that the track was carefully designed so you had no trouble building it. There were clear detailed instruction and all the pieces of track had letters on them to help identity them with the pieces on the instruction sheet. At first I had a little trouble building but after 10 mins I soon got the hang of the building. The key to building the track is to build on a flat surface.
Each set of Chuggington has a few configurations per set so should you get bored of one layout it’s easily changed. The track we were sent was a little complicated for Maxwell to help build so I ended up making him a smaller, more simpler one. We used the add on track to make the track a little larger length wise but as Maxwell grows we will use the add on track to make the track larger and more crazier.
Each stack track set comes with a train, however you are also able to buy the trains individually. They are inexpensive to buy and can be the perfect stocking fillers this Christmas or a perfect substitute if your little one is prone to loosing things.
You are able to see below how much fun Maxwell really had when using the tracks.
