Bargain Hunting #6

This week I wanted to take a look to see is it cheaper to do a grocery shop online?

Every week for a year, I have always ordered my food shopping online and had it delivered.
I found when Maxwell was younger I was always tempted to buy things I did not need such as new clothes or new toys, however when I do my shopping online I get what I need and only that.
I am able to stick to my budget as I can see what is going in the basket. If the price is too much at the end I can easily remove the "treats" we do not need wheres in store I would not be able to do this very easily.

The negatives I find with shopping online is that I do have to pay for delivery and I am unable to use coupons on my online shop however my whole experience is easier and cheaper than when I go to the supermarket.
Every few weeks I end up going to the supermarket and buying products that I have coupons for. I do not make a special trip to go there.

I recently found a site which is very handy. You are able to compare prices between supermarkets online so you can really make sure you are getting the most for your money
We usually shop at Tesco so I would pop on to mysupermarket and start shopping. I compare the products in my basket as I go and if I find products that make my shop cheaper than at Tesco I can switch to another store and get my shopping from there instead.

Do you like to shop online or do you love shopping in store?

  2. I shop online because I tend to pick up lots of extra things and blow my budget when we go in store, also it's easier shopping online as I can avoid the terrible two's tantrums!

  3. I bought so much junk last week.. So many things on special offers, I thought I'd bulk buy so we had treats to last a good while. It didn't work like that.. I've pigged out and ate lots.. I must start online shopping again and will try the money supermarket site too. Thanks for sharing x

  5. I always shop in store and like to pick up bargains in the reduced section and use any coupons I have. I also find it easier to compare deals in store rather than online :)

  7. I love both, but yes I do tend to buy more in store as you do see things, and buy things, that you didnt go in for.

  8. I used to shop online, but more recently have tended to go in-store to shop. We only have a relatively small Tesco near us and I have recently started doing a monthly shop at Aldi, with small top-up shops locally. I have only bought one product that I didn't think tasted very nice and have certainly saved money.

  9. I shop in store, for me the delivery cost makes online shopping expensive - I know there's fuel to drive to the supermarket, but I have to drive past my supermarket to go to work. Also I am hopeless at deciding what we are going to eat for the week, so I tend to do a biggish shop at weekend and then top up every couple of days
